This is not theology - just current news. But when it is new about someone who is a Christian - it goes here I think.

Have not heard this before. If its true, and I have no doubt why it shouldn't be, it is very interesting for sure. All I can say is Praise the Lord, it wont be long. Come Lord Jesus, come.

This has already been posted a few days back by 'nuff sed Titled - Could this be what we have been waiting for?

So far no one can verify.

I think his (Pope Francis') brother's name is/was Oscar Adrian Bergoglio.

It appears that Maria Elena is younger sister by 11 years is his only surviving sibling.

"Francis, formerly Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio, is the oldest of five children—three boys and two girls. His three other siblings, Alberto, Oscar, and Marta Regina, have already died. "

Oh please. This pope won't have to do

anything that has already been done.

It has already happened.

More than a century ago the Lord

sent this testimony: "It is a backsliding

church that lessens the distance between

itself and the papacy." Signs of the Times,

Feb.19,1894.

The following year another testimony was sent

to the effect that the leaders of the church

were "following in the track of Romanisn."

Testimonies to Ministers,362-363.

In the 1860s the Lord gave Mrs. White a dream

in which she saw the leaders of the church

in a "catholic procession." Testimonies, Vol.1,578.

Why is it that we pay more attention to what a pope

may have said but ignore what the Lord has said?

If you haven't already, please read the thread

titled THE FIRST PROTESTANT PRINCIPLE TAKEN AWAY

"The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.

As far as the "organized work"

is concerned there is now no difference between the SDA

denomination and the Catholic denomination.

Both have a man at the head of the church

and both have a creed and a hierarchy.

God has been put aside and replaced by the

devisings of men.

If you don't believe me, please read this:

"God says, 'I will

be glorified in My people.' But

the self-confident management of men has resulted

in putting God aside and accepting the devisings

of men. If you allow this to continue your faith

will soon become extinct."

Testimonies to Ministers, 481.

This order of things is papistical, is it not?

Hence the warning: "Unless you

cease the work of making man amenable to man,

unless you become humble in heart, and yourselves

learn the way of the Lord as little children,

the Lord will divorce you from His work."

T.M.481.

"The devisings for forcing men to follow the

prescriptions of other men are instituting an

order of things that overrides sympathy and

tender compassion, that blinds the eyes to

mercy, justice, and the love of God. Moral

influence and personal responsibility are

trodden underfoot... Rule, rule, has been

their course of action... Humanity is hailed

as God." T.M.363,365.

This is following in the track of Romanism.

So why should we fear Romanism from the pope

when we have the same in our denomination?

Stan, it would be great to see the research.

It also is being said this Pope has a vision of bringing the SDA denomination back to the mother. I can only remember reading that somewhere but it is lost to me now as to where.

Yes the SDA church does shake them and of course it is her, Papacy,s purpose to swallow up the SDA church if they can do it.

The slipping back one thing after another is also a great shaking to it, the SDA church.

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1Jo 4:5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

1Jo 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

this video is a scam, according to research done in Argentina.

Is that the reason the video has now been disabled here?

[Fine with me.]

All Adventists, be they Jehovah's Witnesses, Christadelphians or SDA's...

...Have a burning desire to add razzle-dazzle excitement to their respective denominations.

...This usually comes by the way of outlandish claims that end up being total flim-flam.

It really shouldn't come as a shock to anyone.

Jehovah's Witnesses have never been considered Adventist by any organization.

In addition to the common historical roots in the Millerites, it can also be seen that we have quite a number of other things in common -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jehovah%27s_Witnesses

"Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

*Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth.

(And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

Hmmm. Another elbow to the ribs, eh? What church did you say you belong to?

I stand by my original statement. Jehovah's Witnesses are not Adventist. And of course I know the difference between just an Adventist and an SDA as could easily be seen by my original post. I am referencing the Handbook of Denominations in the United States, 12th edition.

And if its true, does it really matter? Knocking the church, the SDA church at that, is some kind of star in there crown. Or something to be admired!!!

Our pastor checked into this story and no one in church leadership in Argentina can verify the existence of this so called brother of the pope working for the church. Could be one of those tales that gets a life of its own once out on the internet.

Though the story seems to be lacking any facts, I'm sure Pope is quite knowledgeable about the Seventh-day Adventist church as any high ranking Jesuit would have to be.

Would "have to be"?

...What's that supposed to mean?

Per wikipedia, "The Jesuits were founded just before the Counter-Reformation (or at least before the date those historians with a classical view of the counter reformation hold to be the beginning of the Counter-Reformation), a movement whose purpose was to reform the Catholic Church from within and to counter the Protestant Reformers, whose teachings were spreading throughout Catholic Europe."

Do you not see how the Jesuits might be opposed to the work of the Seventh-day Adventist church especially given how the church is growing by leaps and bounds in traditionally Catholic countries? We are also their biggest Protestant rival when it comes to healthcare and schooling.

Popular Adventist folklore. But not very credible in the real world.

"Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

Popular Adventist folklore.

Having yesterday watched an evangelistic effort that ran for 14 days by a Seventh Day Adventist evangelist and team, where over 30,000 people were baptized into the Lord Jesus which helps to corroborate the 1,000,000 annual growth, much of that figure from predominantly Latino countries, I'm wondering from what fairy tales you might be drawing your folk lore figures. There are many among the SDA population, especially of the younger generation who take this quote below seriously, not the least of these being from my wife's family who are instrumental for raising up through God's grace, 10 churches in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the last couple years.

"But he who endures to the end will be saved.

And this good news of the kingdom (the Gospel) will be preached throughout the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then will come the end.

So when you see the appalling sacrilege [the abomination that astonishes and makes desolate], spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the Holy Place—let the reader take notice and ponder and consider and heed....

Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains;"Matthew 24:13-15 AMP

As an SDA of 45 years or so, I would be pleased with the flim flam you've observed to be described so I can be sure to tie it in with the biblical record as corroborative evidence of its' spiritual significance.

Much obliged.
