Thanks once again for clarification!

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Nope! You can proclaim

Quote:
"salvation today is of the Seventh-day Adventist Church".
until the cow's come home, but it is not correct!!! Salvation is by, of, and through Christ and Christ only! Such statements, as above, is exactly what organized religions get into trouble with. They start to think their message/religion/belief system is more important the belief in Christ, who does save us. Religion has not in the past, now or in the future the ability to save anyone.

Excellent post CoAspen. And this in Jesus' own words, John 4:22 You people don't know what you are worshipping; we worship what we do know, because salvation comes from the Jews. So I agree CoAspen, salvation is definitely through Jesus, who was a Jew. And Club, this is not disagreeing with with, I know exactly what your saying, but I will go with Jesus' own words on this one.

There are times when a hard message must be delivered... This reminds me of Dr. Ben Carson's breakfast dinner speech with the President present. After he was done, people were ready to nominate him for the Presidency.

When a person who displays true Godlike qualities, as I esteem Dr. Carson to, somehow it makes the hard message easier to swallow.

There is something that glorifies God when virtue is shown in someone's life.

Yes indeed.

Jesus didn't spend time explaining and clairifying it. He simply said, "Salvation is of the Jews". Because that chosen channel of communication pointed to Himself as the true Messiah. Indeed, salvation is of Jesus Christ and His righteousness as proclaimed through His chosen vessels, His royal Priesthood, the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Whose message is, "Here are they that keep the commandments of God".

No other Church on earth understands and preaches such a message of truth, they mix it with error and confusion, every one of them. Just as the Samaritans had done, just as the Mormons, Jehovahs Witnes, Catholics, Islam and many others are doing today.

until Jesus came there was divine instructions for worship and dedication to God, and it involved a lamb, and an alter, eventually circumcision, then the sanctuary, then the temple, and the rebuilt temple, then Jesus came.

His resurrected person became the focus of faith, and this ended the specific forms of worship of a lamb and an alter and all the blood and sacrificial forms that prophetically described Jesus, along with all the religious ceremonies and festivals and forms.

all of these forms did pertain to the Jews, they maintained the sacrifice of the lamb in the earth begun at eden, until the lamb came from among them. They held to the line of patriarchs, and held to the promises, and in 400 years of slavery there remained those faithful to the knowledge of God.

the promise of God could not be eradicated from the earth. and we hope in the fulfillment of that promise today.

I would like to suggest that those services were ordered by Jesus but were recognized as from Him as a result of Paul's ministry as well as Moses prophecy, and if the Jews had been faithful to the instructions found in those services, they would have loved and worshiped Him when He revealed Himself as a Babe in the manger, even as the Magi and the shepherds in the field gave Him honor.

"“The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him."Deuteronomy 18:15 NASB

"I don’t want you to forget, dear brothers and sisters, about our ancestors in the wilderness long ago. All of them were guided by a cloud that moved ahead of them, and all of them walked through the sea on dry ground. In the cloud and in the sea, all of them were baptized as followers of Moses. All of them ate the same spiritual food, and all of them drank the same spiritual water. For they drank from the spiritual rock that traveled with them, and that rock was Christ."1 Corinthians 10:1-5 NLT

The early Church certainly swept away the abundance of man made laws the Jewish system had acquired over the centuries.

But they kept that which was ordained and there may be more yet we need to understand and incorporate into our worship today. There is much we can learn from the Jewish economy and the sanctuary service even yet. I do believe Seventh-day Adventist have the best balance and application of Jewish law understanding and new testament application. Clean/unclean meats come to mind, the Sabbath of course, the passover has now become the communion service, feasts are camp meeting. There is some dispute on where, when, what is applicable, but thats OK (if were nice about it). Theres a LOT of things that tie us to Abraham!

I recently loaned money to a brother, as per old testament law, I will not charge him interest. Nor will I tell others what they should do in a similiar situation. Thats the Jewish economy system at work today!

The problem as I see it is that we continue using methods and language that bypass a secular society (audience in program and Britain in general). It is simply not comprehended as relevant to their lives. It is not surprising that it is ridiculed. It sounds strange. Consider the example of the sky splitting open rolling back like a scroll. But when we try to explain it as literally what will happen we lose our audience. We might think of it as poetic language, a metaphor perhaps. But that tends to diminish the reality of what we are saying will happen. And it is not easy to even trying to explain that the Biblical writers simply understood the sky to be solid requiring it to open like a door or curtain for something to enter our space from the beyond.

We need to speak in terms and metaphors familiar to our audience. Jesus did that by using things very familiar to the people in that time and place. "The kingdom of heaven is like..." And he addressed concerns relevant to their lives, things they were worried about. Like the women in the audience concerned about the environment. Nothing will turn such a person against you more quickly than to characterize her environmental concerns as a religion. Why not try to relate to her concerns by saying that as one who worships the Creator, we too value His creation. Find a way to connect.

"Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

*Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth.

Islam also loans money without the payment of interest. However, the person who loans the money does make a profit off of that loan.

Loaning money does not prevent one from making a profit. Islam does have banks which loan money without interest and do return a profit to those who deposit money in the bank.

HA HA HA, now THAT was funny!

Tom does make a good observation though. Difficult as it may be it is best when we can use simple explanations to reach people at their individual level, with truth.

i agree, the system of worship and types were designed, so when Jesus came he would have many instructional forms to learn through, to understand who he was, and how to fulfill his purpose.

and they serve today still to help us comprehend who Jesus was, and who is he to us today.

He is our righteousness, and our hope and our wisdom and strength, our healing and our redemption in every time of need.
