Sorry, Bro Green, but you are running from one issue to another. You seem to be unstable.

I was talking about your claim that Sister White NEVER ENDORSED Josiah Litch's exposition. I showed from your own quote that she did endorse it. You responded by saying she did not interpret prophecy. Are you confused?

Samie,

You gave a dictionary definition without proper application. (Do note that I used "endorsed" in quotes, for it was your word and not mine. (See post #679541.) I do not see her as having "endorsed" things the way you do.) Where do you see Mrs. White as having sanctioned Josiah Litch's interpretation? Where in her writings do you see anything about that prophecy other than her clear statement of what Josiah Litch predicted and published regarding it? Do you find anything else in her writings about it?

You don't? Oh. I see. I think I understand. You are trying to represent a big theory on a little evidence that just so happens to be rather ambiguous and open to interpretation. When others see it differently than you do, you turn from the facts to ad hominem. How does that help you build your case?

I recommend you look as unbiasedly as possible at the facts in the case. Truth is better than opinion, however strongly held the opinion may be.

Blessings,

Green Cochoa.

You want "sanction". You don't want "endorse", a synonym of "sanction". we are just wasting time in semantics, brother. If you don't believe that Sister White "sanctioned" or "endorsed" the exposition of Josiah Litch, you are entitled to your own view. But for me she did. I have posted her statement proving my position about this issue in a previous post . I don't have to belabor the obvious.

"The event exactly fulfilled the prediction." Who predicted the event? Josiah Litch did, and his prediction was published. The event he predicted occurred. That's all Mrs. White seems to be saying here.

"The event exactly fulfilled the prediction." is Sister White's own statement. If that for you is still not an endorsement that indeed the exposition of Josiah Litch is true, then be happy with your position, brother.

But on my part, I believe Sister White through that statement endorsed Josiah Litch's exposition.

The Red you see is not Red in the eyes of a color blind and no amount of convincing is sufficient to alter his perception of colors.

My stance is not inconsistent, it's just that you cannot see it and that is fine with me.

Denial does not make one an overcomer... Makes me wonder how that could be fine with you, brother.

I'm reminded of Jesus' messenger's response when Joshua's destination was in dispute about being resurrected.

"Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel."

Sometimes I'm satisfied to believe it is better to let Jesus (the Word) satisfy the difference of opinion, since He is the One that makes the Gospel of relevance to each of the saved.

We have constantly stated that none of our doctrines are based on her writings and we should continue to affirm this conviction. This means that although it is good and necessary for us to explore her contribution to our topic, the Bible is and should always be the final norm." {Evaluation of the Arguments Used By Those Opposing the Ordination Of Women to the Ministry, Theology of Ordination Study Committee Columbia MD, January 2014, p8}

That is what Ellen White would have said.

This morning I read in the Word about the prophet of the Lord by the name of Jehu, probably largely unrecognized by most of the Christian world of today. Yet when the Israelites did not follow the instructions given by the prophet, they received the natural result of following a different pathway than that which God had chosen for them in His effort to protect them from harm.

Everything the messenger of God gives for His people, can be found in principle and recognized from the Word when we spend enough time searching the Word to verify it.

"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."Acts 17:11 KJV

"...Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper...2 Chronicles 20:20 KJV

"And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. "Jeremiah 29:13 NKJV
