For those who prefer the importance of truth - http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/06/world/africa/nelson-mandela-other-side/index.html You mean your liberal truth. Mandela spouted that he respected and liked Castro. That was why most of southern Florida did not like the man. Maybe you should learn what the truth is. BTW, CNN is not going to work. Get over yourself. I never said bad things. In fact, he did some good things and said many good things, but he was still a Communist. That happens to just be his political philosophy. All you ever want to do is to argue. BTW, liberals would know all about the name calling and dirty tricks. Quote

LifeHiscost Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Quote: when they are willing to be a bit more humble.. Now if I can just learn how to change "they" to "I". Seems to be the work of a lifetime. I'm glad the disciple of Christ has this promise in which to cling. "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. "Hebrews 12:1-3 NKJV God cares! Jesus saves! Quote Lift Jesus up!!

CoAspen Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Reminds me of some Biblical characters, Moses-Murderer, but still went to heaven, David-wife steling murderer, but a man after Gods own heart. We have a tendency to look at persons mistakes and make that the person. I knew we would get some focus on the negative side of human life. We are called HUMANS, not GODS! Quote

I said that Mandela was the Communist not MLK. You really do want to argue. Now, you can argue with yourself. BTW, you are not fun to discuss with because you fail to accept any truth at all. Why do you have to be so prickly? And why do you assume that this fits within your liberal vs. conservative frame of reference? Why the need to spit on his grave? (Even before he is in it, really.) Can you accept that the man changed? Since you seem to want to turn this into a ideological battle ground, why do you suppose that the primary, if not only, sources of this idea that Mandela was a communist originated from his enemies, from an evil sadistic apartheid regime initially, and now only from right wing blogs and websites, some of which are apartheid throwbacks and otherwise racist in orientation. All seems measured to discredit all the good the man did and undo his reputation and undermine progress. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."
