I buy Kosher Hotdogs and organic beef products. No problem, I used to eat those to. My father used to be a butcher and brought home the best meat, period. No fat, etc.. He used to cut all the stuff himself. He did tell me that, be it kosher or semi-kosher, or non-kosher, pretty much made the same way. I'd go into detail as to how and why things are label kosher or non-kosher, etc., but I don't think you'll like what I'll have to tell you. LOL And how the Rabbi's get paid to say its kosher or not. :):) Its not pretty. Anyway, take it from me, kosher or semi-kosher is better by far than non-kosher. As far as "organic" is concerned, we just have there word on how the animals are being fed. But I'm pretty sure it has to be better than the non-organic are fed!! CoAspen Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Ya, I hear you! Sometimes it is best not to know. I have worked in food plants and don't eat the products. Food that goes through washing, cooking, processing and packaging is not something any of us want to really see, loss of appetite!! Quote

OzarkWoman Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Oatmeal burgers can be quite tasty if seasoned well and fried. Doesn't have to be just quick oats, either. They're OK in a cassarole dish with mushroom soup, too. Another great taste is stripples and egg in a sour dough English muffin---a quick microwave breakfast. Don't forget to pick up a case of Quote: Hamlets---The Great Taste of Pork without Sinning. What eats or doesn't eat is not a sin! Quote
Administrators Naomi Posted January 3, 2014 Administrators Posted January 3, 2014 As long as we eat clean meats it is not wrong. However, our bodies are the temple of God so we should consider the potential health pros & cons of whatever we choose to ingest. I make my personal choice to be a vegetarian based upon what I know about the quality of our meat products. If I still lived on my farm and raised my beef, etc and could be relatively confident of what the animals were fed I might include a limited amount of meat in my diet.....however, I do not/know not and therefore choose not to eat my vegetables. Having tried 100% raw for a while,& juicing on and off for years I find that it is all good. Yet, from time-to-time having some mayo, mustard, olive oil, etc enhances the flavor of my natural foods which in turn adds a great deal of pleasure to dining. Sometimes a veggie burger (black bean, etc) is really a pleasant change and adds a different type of protein, sometimes fri-chick and rice or served with honey-mustard dip is very enjoyable. Bon Appetit Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God

Johann Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 After shopping in a mall it was good to sit down and have something to eat. When I had paid for an all inclusive meal at the Pizzza Hut the kitchen was told to prepare a vegetable pizza of which I had a couple of slices. The cold table provided ingredient for a nice haystack. A double delicious meal with no meat. Quote
