BobRyan Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Why do you believe Jesus is God, when you can readword for word in the Book of Numbers, Chapter 23, 19: God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Do you believe this or is this a lie? 1. Jesus was a man. 2. Jesus was a son of man. "My Lord and My God!" John 20:28 "Our great God and Savior - Jesus Christ" Titus 2:13 Matthew 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. Matthew 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. Matthew 9:18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. Matthew 14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. Matthew 15:25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. Matthew 28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Matthew 28:17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. Luke 4:8 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'" Rev 22 8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. Rev 14 7 saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. John 1 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. Col 1 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." COL 316.

JoeMo Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I had a Bible study in a bar one night with a JW. I asked Him directly if He worshipped Jesus; using some of the Scriptures Bob posted. He straightaway answered yes; cuz Jehovah said is was OK; so he was OK with worshipping Jesus. Quote
Dr. Waite Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Agree - excellent collection of verses Agree - the Son of God is God Hebrews 1:8 - "But unto the Son [he saith], Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness [is] the sceptre of thy kingdom." However - the Son of God has a person who is his God whereas, His Father, the only true God, does NOT have a person who is his God. Hebrews 1:9 - "Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, [even] thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows" John 20:17 - "Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and [to] my God, and your God." Revelation 3:12 - "Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, [which is] new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and [i will write upon him] my new name. They way to mark your Bible is to write on the back leaf: Jesus Worship (JW) and the first text above. Under that text you write 2JW and the second text. Then you are alway ready to give a Bible study. Quote
