Matt 7:  15“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16“You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17“So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18“A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20“So then, you will know them by their fruits.

21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you DEPART FROM MEYOU WHO PRACTICE INIQUITY.’

24“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25“And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27“The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall."

28When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching; 29for He was teaching them asone having authority, and not as their scribes.

Who is the rock, Peter or Christ?

Robert, you are asking questions that the majority of people in CA have resolved in their own minds.

1] From the Bible or Ellen White?

2]  So why even discuss things since everyone here as resolved what they believe?

Discuss subjects on which people here have not resolved in their own minds.

You have a voice that could be heard.

But, it is not due to your own actions.  You silence your own voice.

According to the song of Moses in Deut. 32:4, "the Rock" is YHWH.

And I'm sure you have that list?

Robert, please cease slamming Catholics.. It is possible to get readers attention by pointing out what is right without pointing out what is wrong.

Have I mentioned Catholics on this post?  No, you did.

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Robert, if you visit in the home of another person, you become a guest in that home and subject to the rules of the owner of that home.  If you object to those rules, the owner of the home can exit you from the home.  At that time, if you chose, you may build your own home and subject your guests to whatever rules you please and you can comport yourself in your home as you please.

You are here in Club Adventist, as a guest.  You do not have a firmly fixed right to be here.  Stan is the owner of this website.  If you wanted to purchase it, you could seek to reach an agreement with him on a purchase price.  But, while he remains the owner you and I are guests.  Your disrespect of him and the manner in which he desires his guests to behave is evident.

I seek no power and I have no power....I merely have my freedom of speech.  But some here who wish to suppress that.  They prefer that I see things their way, or else.  That's a misuse of power.

Matt 7:15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 15 “You will know them by their fruits

What is the fruit of those pretending to be sheep, but are inwardly ravenous wolves?

Go to Phil 3:2 Beware of the dogs (wolves), beware of the evil workersbeware of the false circumcision3 for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh.

Those who "practice iniquity" (see Matt 7:23) produce fruits that bring glory to men.  They have confidence in their performance.  They glory not in Christ Jesus, but in their pretended righteousness.  So the fruit of these wolves in sheep's clothing is self-righteousness.

These wolves in sheep's clothing claim Christ, but their religion is a merely a vehicle to bring glory to themselves.  They claim to have done "many wonderful works", yet Christ doesn't not recognize them!  Why?  Because instead of resting in Christ's finished work (which brings glory to God) they are too busy resting in their own self-righteousness (which brings glory to men).

Gal 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ: by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world.

"Everyone who hears"?  Some can't hear because they are spiritually blinded by their own self-importance and pride.  They glory not in Christ Jesus, but their own self-righteous performance.  Why, according to Christ?

Matt 23:5 "Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7 they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them 'Rabbi.'...

You do have freedom of speech.  You can stand on the street corner and proclaim you views.

You can write a book, pay for Amazon to print it, and sell it to whomever wishes to purchase it.

You can establish your own website and proclaim your views on that site.

But, you do not have the freedom to come into my bedroom and preach to me.

You have no freedom to stand in the pulpit at a Roman Catholic service and proclaim your views.

In your visits to this privately owned website you must abide by its rules.

So, it is true that this website is only for those who agree with the moderators?  Sorry, Christ is my boss and He states to warn of "men (who will) arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them"....If wish to rid yourself of me, that's your bias & prejudice.

Let's face it, you and some others are clearly biased!  How so?

For years I have been exposing the self-righteousness of the Pharisees, yet no moderator here has come to the rescue of any Jews that I might have offended.  Why?

Because there's an apparent bias.

Like I said, "power tends to corrupt"

This would be a good topic to take up in another thread. I have found that individuals who feel they have the right to force others to their personal ideas under threat of some sort of punishment, when taken to an unreasonable extent are in danger of following the pattern of individuals like Idi Amin, Pol Pot, and others too numerous to count.

OTOH if we find it necessary to spend a lot of time defending ourselves, we can be guilty of asking God to take a back seat while we handle our own lives. Even Jesus spent most of His last hours on this earth remaining silent, I believe because He knew it was useless to say anything to someone who had their minds set beyond possibility of change.

I personally happen to find Stan extremely patient, and for some some others, I choose to be silent.

I do think it is very close to the time that Jesus will no longer choose to be silent.

51Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.…1 Cor 15

Even so! Come Lord Jesus!

God is Love!  Jesus saves!

Lift Jesus up!!

Robert:  There are many people who post material here with which I and others disagree and is opposed to what the SDA Church teachesThis forum is not just for people who agree with the Moderators.  In fact, we Moderators do not always agree with each other.  But, that is another issue.

The bottom line is that there are boundaries in this forum.  We expect that our guests will abide by those boundaries.

More than anything, Robert, it is not what you say, but how you say it.

"Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

*Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth.

(And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

Who is the rock, Peter or Christ?

1 Peter 2:4 And coming to Him (the Lord, Jesus) as to the living stone (singular) which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God5 you also, as living stones (plural), are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ

6 For this is contained in Scripture: "BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION CHOICE STONE, A PRECIOUS CORNER stone, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED."

Peter states that Christ is "the living stone".  He quotes Isaiah were he refers to Christ as the "corner stone".  Therefore Peter is admitting he himself is not the rock.

Peter was just one stone (pebble) among many stones who made & make up God's "spiritual house" - a holy priesthood.

We do not need a priest to represent us before God.  According to Heb 10:19,

"we (i.e., we believers) have confidence to enter the most holy place (where God resides) by the blood of Jesus (His life laid down in  death), 20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh..."
