Valentines?!?! One of the children's clothing stores I was in had stuff out for EASTER!!!

Christmas....

On Wednesday evening, I was certain Christmas was a bust. By Friday evening, I was yo-yo'ing between joy and frustration, which ended in exhaustion chasing an ambulance to town.

Sabbath was awesome. We watched the final three episodes of The Appearing from It Is Written, and then settled in with a table full of cookies needing icing to talk about it. Jesus blessed us so much, with DH home from the ER, my daughter and her boyfriend joining us, and two very dear friends to make six of us.

We iced cookies, with great creativity, even to one of my friends breaking out some lovely piped floral creations to add to our frosted cookies.

Christmas day, was wonderful. We had a rather relaxing day, no kids in the morning to wake us early. Who would have thought? What a joy to not be up at the crack of dawn, with demanding, grubby fingers, already sticky from illicit forays into Christmas stocking goodies, lifting eyelids to see if we're "in there".

Not that my teens have done that recently mind you, but the thought is always with them... each of them having done it in the past!

Homemade yeast rolls, twice baked potatos, stuffing, salad, ambrosia and roast beast. Not to mention sweet potato pie, coconut cream pie, and cookies. Did I mention we had cookies? Even the dogs were replete with bountiful blessings.

My dh offered the blessing as we stood around the table, hands joined. He asked for a special pouring out of Jesus joy for all around our table... and wow... did he get an answer. So full of laughter and delight was Christmas dinner, that accusations of special seasonings flew around the table... to which all the cooks agreed that love and care and good wishes for each were indeed added to each dish, early in the making so that all received their full portion.

For a Christmas that had the potential to be a disaster, Jesus sure turned it into joy. Once again, He has exchanged joy for mourning and beauty for ashes.

even if I was a rabid sports fan I can't see myself watching the cricket. I honestly believe that watching grass grow generates much more adrenaline.

I tried watching cricket once. It's about as exciting at watching golf, paint dry and grass grow. I'd rather do laundry. LOL

The one day games are rather quicker. Actually the way to do it is to have the radio on in the room you are at, and the TV somewhere else and then when the action comes, you go watch the replays.

Cricket is probably an acquired taste and if you did not grow up in a household where it was enjoyed, I understand your reaction.

But I have wondered about the stopstart nature of American football too. There is more action than in cricket, but not the flowing game of soccer or Aussie rules or even rugby (union or league). I am not a great follower of any of them BTW.

LOL I dont watch American football for that very reason. The game does have a set amount of time in which it's to be played but it still seems to take forever to end. Plus there is the pre-game show and the post-game show. I think half time is the only time that lasts the correct amount of time.ROFL <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/dizzy.gif" alt="" />
