Right now some call it the Ordination Crisis. It used to be the Celebration Church conflict, There was the Glacier View battle, Walter Rae skirmish but it is essentially about cheese at its heart. Like that statement we hear all the time about not buying a bicycle, that's not what she really meant. She was talking about those that don't tithe and give offerings because they claim they have no money, but yet can afford a bike!! joeb Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Can someone belong to the SDA church and not accept Ellen White, foundational SDA beliefs, etc...? Yes. There are many members of the SDA church who do not. But, I don't think having church membership alone truly makes someone a SDA. Is someone who doesn't believe in the doctrines taught by John Calvin really a Baptist even if their names on the books of the Baptist church? How about a Lutheran who disputes the teachings of Martin Luther? I would say no in both cases. SDAs have a truly distinctive set of doctrines when they are taken as a whole and that is what really defines the SDA movement. So, does someone who doesn't accept all SDA doctrines, you know, disagrees with those that are really distinctive, really a SDA? I don't think so. They would fit into almost any denomination in the world, except the SDA denomination for they don't like that which makes the SDA church a distinct denomination.
