 Liberal Heads Exploding in Colorado as BBQ Restaurant Holds ‘White Appreciation Day’

The tiny minds of liberals in Colorado are exploding this week with the decision of a Miliken, Colorado BBQ restaurant owner who decided to have “white appreciation day.”

Restaurant owner Edgar Antillon–a first generation Hispanic American–said that the idea was originally a joke, but as he faced complaints from liberals he decided to make it a real offer in his BBQ restaurant. Antillon and his partner Miguel Jimenez recently bought Rubbin Buttz BBQ on Broad Street in Milliken, Colorado.

“We have a whole month for black history month, we have a whole month for Hispanic heritage month, so we figured that the least we can do is offer one day to appreciate white Americans.”

White customers will get 10% discount on June 11.

Naturally, liberals are threatening lawsuits because that’s what liberals do. If they don’t like you they try to get government to destroy you.

While liberals’ whining over a Hispanic-owned business instituting its “White Appreciation Day” is rather funny, they thought they’d show their famous “tolerance” by calling in bomb threats that shut down the BBQ restaurant for a few hours.

From 9 News Colorado:

The restaurant in Milliken that gained national attention after a 9NEWS story about it’s idea for a “White Appreciation Day” was evacuated Friday due to a bomb threat.
The Hispanic owner of Rubbin Buttz BBQ, Edgar Antillion, says they received numerous threats Friday.

The restaurant hung a sign reading “White Appreciation Day! June 11th. Because all Americans should be celebrated!!” It plans on giving white customers a 10 percent discount.

Antillon, who was born to Mexican parents, pointed to Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month.

This is especially heinous:

Ricardo Romero, a civil rights activist in northern Colorado, called the plan “a perpetuation of racism.” Jennifer McPherson with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies says people who believe they are discriminated against can file a complaint with the civil rights division.

Well they’re screwed.

The BBQ shop owner mentioned the bomb threats on Facebook:

In some cities, some businesses are now giving a discount to women of 77¢ on the dollar based on the very discredited theory that women only make 77¢ for every dollar a man makes. Other places are getting a push for a white male privilege tax. What will those liberals think of next?!

It began as a joke. Obviously the owner also appreciated the uptake in business. He gave everyone the 10% discount.

I suspect your mother, mother-in-law-and grandmothers would do better to just get over it. The idea of women making 77¢/dollar has been essentially debunked as just so much more radfem propaganda. However, if they still want the discount, here it is (hope they like punk music!):

Thanks to their efforts, the gender gap is much smaller. Recent female grads are making 90 cents to the dollar of their male counterparts.

I think there is also a gap in commitment to work. As the two articles pointed out, there are individual choices to be made and men on average choose differently than women. But to some women, even when they don't work as committed, they feel entitled to just as much!

Reality is, women and man doing the same job usually make about the same.

Oddly enough...I agree. There is a gap in commitment to work. In my experiences, women tend to be far more committed and work harder than men. Maybe my family and extended families are an exception to the average, but in my experience, women work generally twice as hard as the men.

And guess what the husband wants...

In the morning, she gets up first and makes the breakfast, gets kids ready for school. Gets herself ready for work. Gets to work and finally relaxed because she only has to be a little more productive than the men in the break room who are still nursing their second cup of coffee.

my dad did all the housework ... vacuuming, laundry, dusting, mopping, making the lunches for me and my brother to take to school.... and he did the yard work... and he was a college professor and high school teacher, full-time, as well..

my mom had a full-time job, and went to church... she and my dad shared the cooking responsibilities for the household.

I have tried to relate your description of men to the men I know and can't think of a one. WE raised four sons along with my two nieces and two nephews.. The expectations were the same for the boys as the girls.

Al of my sons can cook, two really excel. At families dinners it is not uncommon to see the men begin cleaning up and loading the dishwasher right along with the women. If they see laundry that needs to be done they all know how to find and use the washing machine. None of the wives work outside the home and all of my sons work far more than the 40 hours a week so the wives do far more of the housework and errands and they should as that is their job as long as they are not working outside the home.

There will always be people as you describe. I understand that but to lay this directly on men as some selfish inconsiderate boar is pretty one sided. I do know women that are as self centered,demanding and whiny,cannot stand being around them. Most women are not that way,anymore than most men fit your description

Many years ago, in response the the chronic complaining about all the work women did on/off the job, either Dear Abby or Ann Landers posted an article detailing the work men did around the house in addition to their regular jobs. The conclusion was that in comparative dollar amounts to hiring a handyman, plumber, auto mechanic, landscapers, etc, to do the same work would have required tens of thousands of dollars a year in service calls or extra help. Sometimes you think because a guy takes a bit of time for the telly, that you are doing all the work. No wonder so many guys are MGTOW these days.

Because handymen are overpaid. Can't tell you the savings we have because my mother and grandmother and I do many of our own construction and repairs.
