Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted May 20, 2006 Moderators Posted May 20, 2006 Parsnips, what are they? The person below me will wear blue to chruch today. Quote Gregory
Beryl Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Yes, I wore blue to church today. And my memories of parsnips goes back to college days when floods ruined the college gardens -- and all the market gardens for a long way around us. After the college surviving on potatoes and pumpkin cooked different ways (how may ways are there?)for a couple of months there was great joy when they were able to procure a bag of parsnips at a ridiculous price at the markets. We all lined up for lunch knowing that we were having a change -- but were unprepared for the taste jolt -- the parsnips were bitter! And we didn't have a prophet there to work a miracle! And we settled back to potatoes and pumpkins again until the college gardens began to produce their delicious vegetables once more. The person below me loves Marmite and Avocado on their toast. Beryl Quote "Grace is God doing for us, in us and through us that which He requires of us but which is impossible for us to do in or for ourselves." But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor. 12:9.
