JoeMo Posted March 24, 2019 Author Posted March 24, 2019 Y'all can believe the theories you propose; and I'll believe what I see. I could quote Bible experts like the late Chuck Missler and Tom Horn to support my position; but I won't. You have set your mind on what you believe; and I have set mine on what I believe. It ain't a salvational issue anyhow. The theme of our faith is Jesus; and who the Nephillim are doesn't impact how I feel about Him. The fact that several hundred ancient cultures from all over the world have stories about "gods" from the stars coming down and mating with human women producing demigods as offspring - Roman mythology, Greek, Nordic, Germanic, several Native American tribes, Australian aborigines, Polynesians, Chinese, and others - should give one pause for thought. Often mythology is based on some truth. As it seems to be a rather unpopular subject, I'm done talking about it. Quote

stinsonmarri Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 It appears that the topic of the angels being held in prison was stopped over the discussion of angels having sex organs. The angel who had the key to release all of the trillions and trillions even zillions of evil angels that John saw is important later on in Chapter 20. There are so many that it appeared to John like smoke from a furnace that covered the sun and the air! Then John could see they appeared like locust. Now, locust eats everything that's green that why we know they were heading for human beings who have been considered symbolically as green grass and trees. But, the KJV scribes use the word scorpion to translate the Greek word "skorpios," but Strong states that the Greek word probably comes from the base word; “skerpō,” an obsolete word that actually means pierce more than sting! If you continue to trace it back that would make sense. With further research, you will see concealment, sentry, watchman, and mark. These mighty beings with their evil powers were heading straight like watchmen to their mark, the wicked. Notice the Command from THE ALMIGHTY, not to hurt anything green or any tree but only the wicked. They were allowed to torture them but at this time they could not kill any of them. Again, there are some significant points that need to be noticed here! If it is taught that the saints are to be persecuted, how can that be if the last five months the evil angels are allowed to torture the wicked but not to bother the righteous? Also, the Command was that there were those who had not been sealed yet? You truly need to understand Chapters 5-11 and to realize the sealing is done by THE HOLY SPIRIT! The Book of Life is the history of the world and people were taken out but others were sealed and remain in the Book. The horses represented the earth from creation to it dying due to human beings sins and not taking care of it! The first riders were the Adams and they were sealed, but the riders than on were unrighteous men but people throughout their ride were sealed. Sealing is not just the Sabbath! We like to get a sign mixed up with a seal. The seal of THE MOST HIGH is the Commandments and the Testimony of YAHSHUA, who is THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. Gen 3:15 Not, EGW, she was a messenger and she stated she was not a prophetess! I believe her just like we believe YAHWEH who said that the papacy would attempt to change both HIS Time (Statute Laws) and HIS Torah or Commandments! Moving on if you continue to read you will see without a doubt that these were angels! But this verse proves it: And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. Rev 9:11 Abaddon means a destroying angel and Apollyon, Strong states clearly that it is Satan. No earthly being could be king over these numerous of angels and here is the second proof: One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter. Rev 9:12 I suggest everyone should read who comes next from the bottomless pit in Rev 11:7-14. When it comes it will appear at the last of the second woe and before the third woe that will come quickly. The third woe is when everything is finish and YAHSHUA is on HIS way. This will get clearer from Chapter 15-19 because these chapters open up the same scene, so you can get a closer view of the entire second and third woe and what will take place. It will show you clearly more about who comes out of the bottomless pit and what it will do and what its fate will be! Good Reading!!! Be Bless! Quote
R. G. White Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Great question, JoeMo. Here is an interesting observation concerning the 1/3 of the angels who fell. According to Ellen White, in whose prophetic gift I have total confidence, it was nearly half. Quote
JoeMo Posted April 28, 2019 Author Posted April 28, 2019 I'll stick with 1/3. Scripture trumps EGW every time. Quote

Some here were questioning how literal was the meaning of the one-third, and no one seemed to object to that until now -- just to put down Ellen White? All I did was point out that one statement of hers tends to support an inexact, less literal interpretation of the one-third. I don't see where the Bible itself even weighs in on the question. You seem to be making a contradiction between Ellen White and the Bible where none exists. Quote

Just cuz I don't embrace some of her proclamations doesn't mean I reject her outright. You are correct - there is no contradiction between EGW and scripture on this point. To me, the "1/3" means a significant portion, but less that half. Blessings to you, brother. Quote

JoeMo Posted April 29, 2019 Author Posted April 29, 2019 I can't help but think there is some significant spiritual relevance to all of the use of 1/3 as Wanderer demonstrated above; especially when one considers the relationship between the numbers 1/3 and 3. Quote
