This is exactly the kind of seeming denigration of other issues that gets my crow in this emphasis on relationships. Your point is well-taken that one can know all the other things but without a relationship with God, all that knowledge won't matter. Fair enough. But if prophecy was not important, God would not have given it. It is one of the more important spiritual gifts. It was the prophecy of a coming Redeemer that sustained and maintained A & E and their descendants' relationship with God after sin entered the world. It is the prophetic promises of God that sustains the Church's relationship with God today.

Love is relationship Gerry... I understand your point. The bible however is clear: 1Co 13:8 Love never fails. Now if there are prophecies, they will be done away with. If there are tongues, they will cease. If there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

Prophecies can fail, and when they do, what is left? Love... I am not de-emphasizing the understanding of prophecy, however it has to be in context...
