Is the Virus a sign of the End?

Often people who study the scriptures to decipher what "signs" we can look for, that would indicate the second coming of Jesus is approaching, and they tend to see said signs as specific events. I would like to challenge that notion and point out that scripture seems much more likely to indicate that the signs of the end; are in fact a process, and not an event; at least, not any one or single event:

Quote

The Woman and the Dragon

Rev 12:1  Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars.
Rev 12:2  Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.
Rev 12:3  And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads.

It is in this kind of context that we can say: "history repeats itself," and incrementally gets more severe with each repetition.

(2 Cor 1:3-4) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

We will be going through the time of Jacob's trouble, evaluating our hearts and life and are we really being fair to truth. So we will be miserable. The world going thought the high of the apparent joining of the toes will want to put us out of our misery.

You know Kevin, I would love you or anyone to please show this Jacob time of trouble for the last days in the Bible? I have the book that was first published in 1947 claiming it was a compilation of EGW and named "The Story of Redemption." But, I have researched and cannot seem to find where did they get this compilation from what writings, books or manuscript she wrote? The Book "The Last Days Events," I am also questioning because they take bits and pieces from her writing to make it appear to be on the subject they are stating. Now EGW wrote:

Then Jesus will step out from between THE FATHER and man, and God will keep silence no longer, but pour out HIS WRATH on those who have rejected HIS Truth. I saw that the anger of the nations, THE WRATH of God, and the time to judge the dead were separate and distinct, one following the other, also that MICHAEL had not stood up, and that the Time of Trouble, such as never was, had not yet commenced. The nations are now getting angry, but when HIGH PRIEST has finished HIS Work in the Sanctuary, HE will stand up, put on the Garments of Vengeance, and then the seven last plagues will be poured out.

I saw that the four angels would hold the four winds until Jesus’ work was done in the Sanctuary, and then will come the seven last plagues. These plagues enraged the wicked against the righteous; they thought that we had brought the judgments of God upon them, and that if they could rid the earth of us, the plagues would then be stayed. A decree went forth to slay the saints, which caused them to cry day and night for deliverance. This was the time of Jacob’s trouble. Then all the saints cried out with anguish of spirit and were delivered by THE VOICE of God. The 144,000 triumphed. Their faces were lighted up with THE GLORY of God. Then I was shown a company who were howling in agony.

On their garments was written in large characters, “Thou art weighed in the balance, and found wanting.” I asked who this company were. The angel said, “These are they who have once kept the Sabbath and have given it up.” I heard them cry with a loud voice, “We have believed in THY coming, and taught it with energy.” And while they were speaking, their eyes would fall upon their garments and see the writing, and then they would wail aloud. I saw that they had drunk of the deep waters and fouled the residue with their feet - trodden the Sabbath underfoot - and that was why they were weighed in the balance and found wanting.

If you notice I highlighted certain lines and colored others. So let me explained. I have said this continuously about EGW and her visions and there exact identity or relations to Scriptures in the Bible. I have said that many time not only EGW but the Pioneers believed somethings that were not Biblical but based on misinterpretation. They thought because persecution was done to the prophets and then to the followers of YAHSHUA after HIS resurrection that it would happen again. Even during the time of Elijah, Obadiah the Govenor hide an hundred prophets of YAHWEH from Jezebel and Ahab! However, the pioneers and EGW did not understand everything like many of the chosen people in the past. Daniel was told to shut up and seal the book until the time of the end. John was the continuation of Daniel book and he was shown everything that would come in the last days!

The sentences underline is what she was shone and they are in the Bible. Dan 12:1; Rev 6:14-17; Chapters 7-9; 16 is all there. The sentences I color is not anywhere in the Bible and she never saw this at all. She thought the remnant would be persecuted. They thought the Sabbath would be the main issue of opposition because of the papacy and what took place during the inquisition! They did not have the technology that we have today. However, EGW was guided by THE HOLY SPIRIT to write just before she died a Chapter on "How Shall We Search the Scriptures?" In this chapter is a subtitle; "The Study of the Books of Daniel and the Revelation," TM p. 105-119.

In conclusion, I truly have a problems with all the compilations of books! The reason, they are taken out of context and that is misleading and also unfair to EGW and mostly to YAHWEH!  I have seen many people make claim against this woman because of what Aurthur White did. He did not follow his grandmother will and allowed the church to use her manuscripts as they wanted to. Making profit and twisting her words to appear to accept their views. Many will give an account for this because it has lead many astray in two ways acting like the Pharisees or those who left the church and claim her as a false prophet. She said was not a prophet but a messenger! She clearly stated that the Time of Trouble and THE WRATH of YAHWEH and others at closing will come in order which they will! There is no Jacob trouble because The Time of Trouble and the 7 last plagues will be poured out on the wicked not those who are sealed. Four of the 7 Trumpets will be done by the remnant who will come in THE POWER and HOLY SPIRIT that Elijah had. I urge you all just check out this for yourself, please before it is too late!

Blessings on the reading of THE FATHERS WORD and Happy Sabbath!

a famous SDA author once said the final events will be rapid ones.

Here's a quote from that famous author:

While appearing to the children of men as a great physician who can heal all their maladies, he will bring disease and disaster, until populous cities are reduced to ruin and desolation. Even now he is at work. In accidents and calamities by sea and by land, in great conflagrations, in fierce tornadoes and terrific hailstorms, in tempests, floods, cyclones, tidal waves, and earthquakes, in every place and in a thousand forms, Satan is exercising his power. He sweeps away the ripening harvest, and famine and distress follow. He imparts to the air a deadly taint, and thousands perish by the pestilence. These visitations are to become more and more frequent and disastrous. Destruction will be upon both man and beast. “The earth mourneth and fadeth away,” “the haughty people ... do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.” Isaiah 24:4, 5. {GC 589.3}
And then the great deceiver will persuade men that those who serve God are causing these evils. The class that have provoked the displeasure of Heaven will charge all their troubles upon those whose obedience to God’s commandments is a perpetual reproof to transgressors. It will be declared that men are offending God by the violation of the Sunday sabbath; that this sin has brought calamities which will not cease until Sunday observance shall be strictly enforced; and that those who present the claims of the fourth commandment, thus destroying reverence for Sunday, are troublers of the people, preventing their restoration to divine favor and temporal prosperity. “The pope, Gregory XIII., received the news of the fate of the Huguenots with unbounded joy. The wish of his heart had been gratified, and Charles IX, was now his favorite son. Rome rang with rejoicings. The guns of the castle of St. Angelo gave forth a joyous salute; the bells sounded from every tower; bonfires blazed throughout the night; and Gregory, attended by his cardinals and priests, led the magnificent procession to the church of St. Louis, where the cardinal of Lorraine chanted a Te Deum. The cry of the dying host in France was gentle harmony to the court of Rome. A medal was struck to commemorate the glorious massacre; a picture, which still exists in the Vatican, was painted, representing the chief events of St. Bartholomew. The pope, eager to show his gratitude to Charles for his dutiful conduct, sent him the Golden Rose; and from the pulpits of Rome eloquent preachers celebrated Charles, Catherine, and the Guises as the new founders of the papal church.”  {GC88 272.3}

Thousands of the followers of Christ--men, women, and children--were put to death in the most cruel manner. Some were crucified, some covered with the skins of wild beasts, and torn in pieces by dogs, others were clothed in garments of inflammable material, and set on fire at night to illuminate the circus of the Vatican and the pleasure gardens of Nero. Thus this monster in human form amused the public by exhibiting his victims in their dying agonies, while he himself stood by, taking the keenest delight in their misery. Degraded and hardened as were the Romans, and bitter as was their prejudice against the Christians, the constant repetition of these horrible, heart-sickening scenes excited even their compassion.  {LP 303.1}

There is no reason to suppose they wont do it again. Especially considering their disgusting history in Canada.

Again, I respect all, but a famous author quote is not the Bible. YAHWEH'S WRATH according to the Bible says this:

And I heard a great voice out of the Temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of THE WRATH of ELOHIYM upon the earth. Rev 16:1

I read nothing at all about any Sunday or the Sabbath, so where is it?

Here is a famous author quote in 1901:

Not to Take the Place of the Word—Jesus desires you to study your Bibles. HE has not given any additional light to take the place of HIS Word. This light is to bring confused minds to HIS Word, which, if eaten and digested, is as the lifeblood of the soul. Then good works will be seen as light shining in darkness.—Letter 130, 1901

Here is another famous author quote:

Now here is the way the matter [is] represented; but when there is “I do not care,” and going right contrary to the light that God has given in HIS Word—I do not ask you to take my word; I do not ask you to do it; lay Sister White right to one side; you lay her right to one side. Do you not—never quote my words again as long as you live, until you can obey the Bible. When you take the Bible and make that, make that your food, your meat, and your drink, and make that the elements of your characterwhen you can do that, then you will know better how to receive some counsel from God. But here the Word, the precious Word, I exalt it before you today; and do not go and repeat any more what Sister White said—“Sister White said this,” and “Sister White said that,” and “Sister White said the other thing;” you say, “What saith the Lord God of Israel?” and then you do just what the Lord God of Israel does and what HE says. Jesus says: “I do the works of MY FATHER; the works that I see HIM do, I do. Manuscript Releases, vol. 5 [Nos. 260-346]

We must not for a moment think that there is no more light, no more truth, to be given us. We are in danger of becoming careless by our indifference losing the sanctifying power of truth and composing ourselves with the thought, ‘I am rich, and increased with goods and have need of nothing’ Rev. 3:17. While we must hold fast to the truths which we have already received, we must not look with suspicion upon any new light that God may send. GW, p. 310

We must not think, ‘Well we have all the truth, we understand the main pillars of our faith, and we may rest on this knowledge.’ The truth is an advancing truth, and we must walk in the increasing light. . .Some have asked me if I thought there was any more light for the people of God. Our minds have become so narrow that we do not seem to understand that Jesus has a mighty work to do for us. Increasing light is to shine upon us; for the ‘path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Councils to Writers and Editors, pp. 33-35

Finally, before the famous author's death was this quote:

How shall we search the Scriptures in order to understand what they teach? We should come to the investigation of GOD’S WORD with a contrite heart, a teachable and prayerful spirit. We are not to think, as did the Jews, that our own ideas and opinions are infallible; nor with the papists, are that certain individuals the sole guardians of truth and knowledge, that men have no right to search the Scriptures for themselves, but must accept the explanations given by the fathers of the church. We should not study the Bible for the purpose of sustaining our preconceived opinions, but with the single object of learning what GOD has said.  Some have feared that if in even a single point they acknowledge themselves in error; other minds would be led to doubt the whole theory of truth.

Therefore, they have felt that investigation should not be permitted, that it would tend to dissension and disunion. But if such is to be the result of investigation, the sooner it comes the better. If there are those whose faith in GOD’S WORD will not stand the test of an investigation of the Scriptures, the sooner they are revealed the better; for then the way will be opened to show them their error. We cannot hold that a position once taken, an idea once advocated, is not, under any circumstances, to be relinquished. There is but ONE WHO IS INFALLIBLE--HE who is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE.

Those who allow prejudice to bar the mind against the reception of truth cannot receive THE DIVINE ENLIGHTENMENT. Yet, when a view of Scripture is presented, many do not ask, is it true--in harmony with GOD’S WORD? But by whom is it advocated and unless it comes through the very channel that pleases them, they do not accept it. So thoroughly satisfied are they with their own ideas that they will not examine the Scripture evidence with a desire to learn, but refuse to be interested, merely because of their prejudices.

The Lord often works where we least expect HIM; HE surprises us by revealing HIS POWER through instruments of HIS OWN choice, while HE passes by the men to whom we have looked as those through whom light should come. GOD desires us to receive the truth upon its own merits--because it is truth.

The Bible must not be interpreted to suit the ideas of men, however long they may have held these ideas to be true. We are not to accept the opinion of commentators as THE VOICE of GOD; they were erring mortals like ourselves. GOD has given reasoning powers to us as well as to them. We should make the Bible its own expositor. TM p. 105, 106

Again, I have asked, and I will continue to do so until one of you show me in the Bible about the Sabbath versus Sunday! Ancient Israel fail because they thought they knew it all and refuse to see that they made errors. Pride comes before a fall, what we thought we know must come from the Bible. It is strange to me that the famous author and the pioneers did not believe in the trinity and that too is not Biblical but yet today many also believed  what the famous author did not! Strange!

Blessings!
