bevin Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 (a) Not every target the US strikes actually has any terrorists in it at all. Sometimes we simply make mistakes. These mistakes are easy to make from 30,000 feet. They are also easy to make when you believe everything that you are told that you want to believe. ( Like I said earlier, this is asymmetric warfare. When you have the biggest-baddest-fighting-machine around, you can't expect your enemy to be utterly stupid and stand around in the open in large groups waiting to die. Of course they are going to hide - and where better than in urban settings. However, I would point out, the mere fact that the other dwellers in the community let them get away with this shows that the other dwellers at least tacitly support their goals, and don't like what the USA is doing. The USA attempts to paint a picture of a small group of insurgents spread amongst a neutral..pro-USA community. This simply is not true. If it was, the insurgents could not hide in this community. /Bevin Quote

There are many kinds, and they have been at odds for centuries. When we turn up with big guns, people tell us "that guy down there is going to attack you" just so we will shoot him - when, in fact, he was simply the guy whose granddad made off with this guy's granddad's favorite date. They LIE TO US to get us to do things we shouldn't. For instance, anti-Saddam forces LIED to us prior to the invasion to get Bush to invade. Furthermore intelligence agencies know this. /Bevin Quote
