Hello everybody,

I would like to share something I previously avoided doing. I am doing this because of a direct instruction.

I am going to explain about prayers that are shortcutted. Please remember that the most valuable usage of these shortcut prayers is the ability to introspect one’s self, which is most crucial to God. I am going to try to keep this short and concise.

During times of emergencies we cry out to God, not once, but multiple times with maximally heightened intensities of energies. I think that this may relate in ways I still am unable to explain in relation to these shortcut prayers.

These shortcut prayers are better suited to be experienced not fathomed.

Sample No. 1

Words in brackets are directions, not for prayer utterance.

(Say in your heart (it can be out loud but nobody wants to be a spectacle, right?)) "God, I would like to make a Christian prayer titled 'X' (it sounds 'eks' and can be change to anything because it is a variable (less syllables are recommended else someone’s tongue may get twisted.)). And the contents of this Christian prayer is the 'Fathers Prayer' taught by Christ Himself found somewhere in the book of Matthew in the holy bible.

From now on every time I mention the title X (eks) is as mentioning the contents of this prayer that I have mentioned just now.

In the name of ... (mention the name of God the Son, the officiating stamp), Amen

In practice or implementation say "X eks) Jesus" as fast as you can until, say 20 to 30 times while bolstering your awareness to max, sensing every change of sensation in and surrounding yourself. That is why it is not best to do this while someone else is fostering his or her attention on you, making you sense that person instead.

*Soo, what was X just now? It was a title of a prayer with an ordinary prayer connected to it sanctioned by prayer to God in Christ’s name. The name Jesus after the X is as any ordinary prayer that is closed in the names of God the Son, the officiating stamp.*

Ok, that’s sample no.1.

Sample No. 2

(Say in your heart) God I would like to make a prayer titled 'Think' (You can change this to what ever suits more.) The contents of this prayer titled Think is please form every though and feeling of mine in me to a prayer that is free from sin and mistakes. And please give the best clarity that is best protected from any disturbances to any message that you are communicating to me.

From now on every time I mention the title Think is as mentioning the contents of this prayer titled Think. In … (mention the name of God the Son), Amen

In practice or implementation, say Think Jesus as fast as you can, silently, max 20 to 30 times while bringing to optimal consciousness the question or request of your heart to your mind.

Sample No. 3

"God I would like to make a prayer titled 'Protect' (or anything that suits you more). The contents of this prayer titled Protect is please spare and or protect and or avoid me from all sin and evil.

From now on every time I mention the prayer title Protect is as mentioning the contents of this prayer titled Protect. In ...(mention the name of God the Son), amen.

In practice or implementation say Protect Jesus as fast as you can till reaching the flat line. You will experience the absence of something you were always with but never aware of.

Sample No. 4

God I would like to make a prayer titled ‘Healing’ (or anything that suits you more). The contents of this prayer titled Healing are please heal all ailments, sicknesses and or anything that is not right in me with maximum intensity.

From now on every time I mention the prayer title Healing is as mentioning the contents of this prayer titled Healing. In … (mention the name of God the Son), amen.

In practice or implementation say Healing Jesus as fast as you can till reaching the flat line.

Now you can make your own short cut prayers. Remember, 20 to 30 times is not a fix number, it even can be more or less. What I can say is that there is a rise of intensity in sensations I cannot vocabularize, rising, not continually but ultimately reaching a flat line. After reaching this flat line it becomes pointless to continue unless your prayer is a prayer request not for consultation or information but something else, probably like a job or healing your struggling about.

There are two arguments that I know may be used against these shortcut prayers:

1. Vain repetitions

2. Incantations or Chanting

The first was uttered by Christ, which I believe (and I ask for bible masters to help deliberate) was directed to the heathen and their prayers. Of course I can almost be certain that those heathen prayers would not and or could not be ended in Christ’s name, which is the officiating stamp of Christian prayer communication. Here Christ’s name is the only officiating stamp of this prayer communication.

The second is that incantations or chanting take hours or lengths of time with the main purpose of releasing one's soberness layer by layer till something takes over. Here soberness or awareness is to be bolstered and boosted as optimally can be done. While time durations needed are less than 5 minutes or so. More time means more interaction, more questions and more answers.

These ShortCut Prayers are not intended to replace ordinary christian prayer. I prefer to view them as byicycles for kids that have those additional supporting wheels on the left and right, to help cycling become easier. Once accustomed to the sensation of maximum intensified communications with God you may be able to apply it to ordinary christian prayer. Try it.. you do not talk too much about pizza, you try it out.

Personally for me, the most valuable thing of this short cut prayers are finding out that, after all, it is indeed true, that the truths I have learned are true, that indeed the reality of God is true. Not getting a luxurious house or car as a kind friend once suggested.

May God be always be with you,

Raphael

Actually these strike me more as being like mantras or something. But since the purpose of prayer is to socialize with God, not perform magic, I have to wonder what the point is of these verbal sigils.

Yes, I got the same feeling. They sound to me like contemplative prayer, which is the latest thing in the mainstream churches and also a very old thing, being practised by ancient mystics.

This is not the same as Biblical meditation, where we are encouraged to think upon things of God using our intellect.

Contemplative prayer is used to empty the mind of the person's thoughts (supposedly so that God can fill it), but I agree with Nico that it is the same as a mantra and will produce the same result- that of an altered conscience.

I agree with both Nico and Gail. Although I'm still very interested in where you learned this Raphael.

I agree in that I see no point in a conversation that doesn't produce intimacy with Abba.

This distinctly has the feel of "spell-casting" and is somewhat Potter-esque in that a panicked Hermione might shout out "Think Prayer"!

Someone seems to be trying to mix magick and prayer. Whether they call it such or not.

I have been approached with this question many a times, of where did I learn this. I almost always answer the question with the answer of welcoming the enquirer to enquire directly to the Source, which would be of more utmost astounding unparalleled satisfaction. Please make a habit of approaching God with due respect and sincerity free of any triviality.

As to the comments on how it feels or looks or impresses, I cannot satisfyingly discard, the impression, looks and feels that this is something uncustomary. I can only say that it is true and also for any one open-minded. And that from the biblical or SDA doctrinal stand point of view that it is acceptable aside from the view that it is uncustomary.

I remember hearing of American SDA celebration churches practicing things that are not customary to the SDA mainstream but cannot be soundly denounced doctrinally unbiblical.

Once again, I am explaining again that incantations or chanting go on for lengthy time durations designed to lower one’s consciousness to the point that something may gain possession of the alleged chanter. Here it is of the contrary, because you need to muster all of your attention to be able to converse with someone, not be possessed by something.

Also please let me remind that all these prayers are offered or officiated in Christ’s name. I somehow remember that there must be a bible verse raising a question of how impossible is it to regard anything offered in Christ’s name in vain. Christ’s name is the official heavenly stamp of all heavenly communications implied by Paul. Bible masters, please help with bible verses.

I do understand that many would feel apprehension but please understand your fears whether they are of subjective nature, which, naturally, of course everyone’s entitled to. I remember many of neighboring beliefs arguing that religion is of a subjective nature therefore implying the waste of communication. But I believe that you consider things to have uniformed truths, not only existing in one’s fancy but also in all realities.

… Panicked Hermione in Potter-esque, crying out loud … well.. it might, probably still work. There are many indeed who pray out aloud. The question is why did God admonish us concealment in our communications with Him.

'Contemplative prayer is used to empty the mind of the person's thoughts (supposedly so that God can fill it)" ... here you do not empty your mind. Your mind is filled with your request or question and your bolstered attentiveness to acquire the answer. Actually, very likeable to what goes on in any ordinary conversation between any two individuals.

Actually I have other samples that are quite useful and interesting.. Being knowledgeable of a table in front of you that is laden with everything you can wildly imagine, to the unimaginable. And yet not knowing what is right to request.. It is like comparing it poorly to the English dictionary of over a million vocabularies with the mere 200.000 every day conversation vocabulary. You would not know one from another except through time and usage familiarity. Someone once said discoveries arise out necessities, therefore if you do not feel the cry of the need then most likeably the discovery is not yours to discover.

I do not have to remind about the one among other protocols in approaching God that you must be forgiven by Him. And that to be forgiven by Him it is your rightful deed to forgive any sins or mistakes of others against you.

God loves you,

Raphael

Hello again,

I really dislike reiterating knowledge that every properly bible educated SDA I believe inherently knows but anyway let me just remind a little.

Many tend to view our Creator as a toy maker with all sorts of fancy and interesting and of course useful toys and gadgets and we eagerly look forward to the moment when we are presented with these things. We, sadly, including me, almost never look at our Creator as a rescuer whose mind is bent on our ultimate salvation of eternal life affecting immediately on how we feel we are treated in this world, causing many unnecessary disappointments on our part for not obtaining worldly needs that may we, even, consider necessary. Naturally it is difficult for us to imagine eternity or how it would even remotely feel and why the fuss of struggling to death over it. All this you can ask and understand through the short cut prayers.

For a lot of people, I believe, understanding goes along with the sense of it, but for certain individuals, like me, who may have exercised their minds singularly too much may have difficulty feeling the feel of it. So when requesting for understanding, do not forget to ask for your mind to understand but also your emotions to sense or grasp it.

One can ask or make numerous prayer requests but what I regard to be most necessary for eternal survival is a short cut prayer containing requests for forgiveness of all sins from God and our expressions in that prayer stating that we forgive all sins and mistakes of any one else done against us. Then checking or consulting with God on our status, whether we are forgiven or not. I remember several times when I did this confirmation consultation prayer while I still had spats of anger or disturb ness, I receive reiterating messages to forgive and to forgive again, implying that though I felt myself to have done the proper protocol I still was not forgiven yet. I had to discard my anger or cry for help for God to help deal with pain that may be too much too handle.

I remember the story of Enoch, walking with God throughout his life. I wondered about what exchange took place in their communications. It must not have been about demands or temporal requests but must have been about daily matters, seemingly little things like spotting despair or something to ponder on and then wondering about it.

Here is a Sample No. 5

God I would like to make a prayer titled ‘Love’ (or anything that suits you more). The contents of this prayer titled Love are I love you God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost forever.

From now on every time I mention the prayer title Love is as mentioning the contents of this prayer titled Love In … (mention the name of God the Son), amen.

In practice or implementation say Love Jesus as fast as you can till reaching the flat line. Please be aware of and mean the contents of the prayer you have made.

May God be with you always,

Raphael

Raphael -

I would encourage you to read the accounts of Jesus' prayers in the Bible. He is our example in all things, and not once are "shortcut" prayers mentioned.

Instead, He developed and embraced a full relationship with Abba Father, spending hours and hours in prayer.

This is very dangerous ground you're on. I will not presume to judge your heart, or the state of your salvation, but the more you explain, the more convicted I am that this is very dangerous teaching.

If you don't spend time communicating with someone, then you cannot know them. Our salvation depends on the relationship of knowing Abba and Jesus. Drive by, short-cut prayers will not facilitate this knowing and communicating that we need to have in order to withstand the wiles of the enemy in the end.

Please reconsider your stance and belief in light of the Word of Abba.

A heart where He alone has first place.

I personally don't see it as dangerous so much as ridiculous. I would not want a relationship with someone who wanted me to agree that from now on, shouting a single word was to stand in for actually having a meaningful exchange of thoughts, ideas and feelings. It strikes me as dismissive and disrespectful toward the person you'd claim to be friends with. What's the point of having the friendship if you aren't going to invest time in EXPERIENCING it???

Seems pretty pointless to me.

With any other relationship I would agree with you Nico. What strikes me about this particular approach to prayer is how someone could come to believe that this "short-cut" was all they needed... and the consequences are so disasterous.

Raphael,

Shortcut prayers could be useful in emergencies. When there is a lack of time.

I agree with the others that the purpose of prayer is to spend time with God. That doesn’t always mean to spend a lot of time delivering a continual volley of words at God. Some of the best prayers may have no words.

Sincerity, opening the heart, is a requirement, isn’t it?

Paul said in one of his books, that when we don’t know how to pray the Holy Spirit prays for us!

Once when praying with my prayer partner, I didn’t know what to ask for, so I claimed this promise from the Bible, and then became silent still kneeling with bowed head. He answered that prayer right away with His presence. We were astounded! That is what He wanted us to pray for, evidently. His presence with us and in our hearts.

Most of my prayers, now are silent. My mind is not empty of thoughts. But concentrated on one thought: the presence of God Himself in my heart.

My consciousness is not altered but my heart is.

I never meant this short cut prayer to be everything. As I have implied earlier, this short cut prayers are to help not replace ‘everything’. If anybody feels satisfied with his or her present communications or relations with God and feels the unnecessary ness of these short cut prayers then suffice may it be.

Raphael

Not to say that shortcut prayers appeal to me, but I would also like to suggest this counsel from the Word.

And what repetition do you find in a conversation with a friend that may last hours and hours?

It takes me 45 minutes to an hour to get through the list of those I'm covering in prayer and that's BEFORE I start in on my husband, children, me...... And I haven't even started on the various aspects of my day, asking for guidance, reminding Him we're still looking for the land... and that we appreciate all the building materials, but we'd like to know where to build it....

Probably considering each person or subject covered in prayer, the rest of the day spent doing what I am able to cooperate with God to see that those prayers work out for the best, would pretty well make a full day. Then I can spend the rest of the evening in prayer thanking God for my prayers being answered and His will being accomplished.

Keep looking up!!

Raphael, You showed a lot of courage to tell SDA's about your short-cut prayers. <img src="/adventist/images/graemlins/thankyousign.gif" alt="" /> I tried one. It seemed to work for me. I think the most important element you mentioned in a eariler post is : praying with an "increaceing intensity." Am I right?

The main thing is to have a relation-ship with God. So keep on calling on Him, however you do it. Evangelicals get stuck in just one type of prayer. Many words. There is also a place for silence in prayer. Listening. Giving God a chance to speak to your heart.

For several years, I could seldom pray at all. I still have trouble praying in the presence of another human. I thing the cause was that I began to feel that God was so close to me. In fact with-in me. I just couldn't address Him as a distant far-off power located in a distant "heaven."

Now my praying is returning because I address Him in my heart - find Him within - It was a period of adjustment.

There is more than one way of prayer! God bless you!

Thanks for the encouraging words, D. Allan. It is well appreciated.

The increasing intensity I meant was the result sensation you feel as the affect of the prayer or prayers you offer. Not to offer the prayer with increasing intensity. Anyway, I believe that you must have been doing it right already to be able to feel that it is working for you.

From my limited experience, I find these prayers (eventually leading to the ordinary prayers too) more felt on its ‘effectiveness’ on health or physical healing and the warfare against sin and evil (especially evil spiritual beings) matters.

You can try Sample No. 6

God I would like to make a prayer titled ‘Rebuke (or anything that suits you more). The contents of this prayer titled Rebuke are rebuke and or release me from all disturbing evil angels and their disturbances that are disturbing me in any way, with the utmost intensity & affectivity.

From now on every time I mention the prayer title Rebuke is as mentioning the contents of this prayer titled Rebuke In … (mention the name of God the Son), amen.

In practice or implementation say Rebuke Jesus as fast as you can till reaching the flat line. You will feel the loss of something you suddenly have become aware of due to its disappearance.

You can combine this with the short cut prayer titled Protect. Please note that its very interesting to notice the uniquely individual sensations of individual vocabulary requests, meaning that if you combine them into one single prayer, you may miss the experience of the mentioned individual parts and its appreciation. I combine my short cut prayers into a finale short cut one and often switch back and forth between individual selected prayers and the finale. Its very important sensing the swirling cloud of sensations engulfing you from these short cut prayers, making you obtain a form of an indicator whether its working or progressing or not, to even additional unexpected information..

Prayers on dynamic subjects as opposed to passive ones, (I consider health, sin and evil to be passive in this matter) like personal livelihood or worldly blessing are better off being prayed for another individual aside yourself or someone praying for you. It is difficult to juggle two matters by yourself, such as praying for yourself while personally endeavoring to it. It is best suited for you to find this out by trial. Anyway, I think God made it in such a way that people should help one another and behave as one Christian body. I also believe that there are still those who do not have this problem, who are most fortunate to be capable of being free of most hazardous forms of emotional insecurities.. May I call faith as a form of emotional insecurity freedom?

Short stitches produce stronger material, I prefer walking and talking with God than to coming head to head with Him on request matters that we, of course, consider most rightfully right.

May God bless you,

Raphael

For those who have had debilitating life experiences impairing the capacity to believe in anything hopeful I suggest or recommend the approach that certain people do. That is, assuming nothing that cannot be assumed, leaving the blank space still blank..

There is this story of a fellow who said that there was an extraterrestrial being gawking in front of both of them. The other fellow said ‘please prove it to me’. The testifying fellow said to his companion ‘I am sorry to be uncap able of fulfilling your request’. Then his companion answered ‘since you cannot prove your testimony and also, I certainly cannot disprove your testimony then my answer is that either you or me may be right, leaving nothing to assume aside an answer of a probability’. .. Leaving an open-minded position open to any possibility, though how remotely possible may it be, it still remains a blank space.

Here is another sample that possibly may be of value.

Sample No.7

God I would like to make a prayer titled 'Praise' (or anything that suits you more). The content of this prayer titled Praise is greatest praises and greatest glory to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost forever.

From now on every time I mention the prayer titled Praise is as mentioning the contents of this prayer titled Praise In … (mention the name of God the Son), amen.

In practice or implementation say Praise Jesus as fast as you can till reaching the flat line.

I believe that there is a an illustration in the bible portraying us, sinners, arriving at a home in the middle of a night and knocking loudly, persistently till finally due to the persistence the door is opened.. Why must it be through persistence? I thought that God was so caring that He would not let even a second go with your imperilment. Many of us have been taught to be compassionate and would not endure the thought of letting someone in need to bewail more of his or her neediness till undetermined durations of time. Many of us would even help first then question later. Why the prolong?

The term volley of words used is attractive to me and it certainly looks very comparable to the persistent midnight door knocking of someone’s grievous need.

For people who have meddled in spiritism, EGW warns of misled false impressions. They would have to be extra vigilant and do triple checking or more.

I believe by now, you must be capable of making up your own prayers and somehow understanding its affects. May I remind that every particular word used affects. You can try by dissecting a part out ..

God bless you,

Raphael
