Yeah, don't they call them, "Blocks"? : Met me in Chi town & I'll show you a really big roundabouts ... more than a block Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
D. Allan Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Nan asked if waiting for stop signs is a gender diff. or age-related. Probabaly age-related. Isn't it great to grow older! You become more mellow. Less in a hurry about anything. I even let people pass me on the freeway! Talk about roundabouts! On my way back from Texas (30yrs ago!) I went around Columbus, Ohio one and ahalf times before continuing my northward trajectory. Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

Wouldn't that make you going the same direction you came into the roundabout from? puzzled... I think THAT'S the difference about being a male!!! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Administrators Naomi Posted November 2, 2006 Administrators Posted November 2, 2006 Gail, me thinks he's correct. Or, perhaps that's why I ended up in a round-a-bout and almost never returned. (: Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
Administrators Gail Posted November 2, 2006 Administrators Posted November 2, 2006 Once when I was in England at night we got into a roundabout and went out of it down the wrong one-way street!!! Talk about never-never land!! Other side of the street and all! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Administrators Naomi Posted November 2, 2006 Administrators Posted November 2, 2006 now that could be confusing, driving on the "wrong" side of the street and all .. {running and hiding} lol Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
D. Allan Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Quote: You were continuing north, after going 1 1/2 times round? Yup. I approached the city from the south and left it on the north side circling it 1 and 1/2 times. Quote dAb O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
Moderators Bravus Posted November 2, 2006 Moderators Posted November 2, 2006 Oh-oh: this may be another of those differences. Here's a blog post about Sue's and my adventures with roundabouts: http://bravus.port5.com/blog/?p=586 Quote Truth is important
Amelia Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 I guess I'm an ol' hand at roundabouts/traffic circles. There are quite a few here in oregon. Portland has both large and small circles. Its all the latest rage in curbing speeding on side streets. That and the huge speed bumps you can find on some of the busier mains. Bravis, I really like that (cough) circle you drew in your blog. Moderators Bravus Posted November 3, 2006 Moderators Posted November 3, 2006 hehe - as noted in the comments, the ability to draw a perfect circle freehand is apparently evidence of psychosis. by those standards (if few others), I'm demonstrably sane! Quote Truth is important
