From what has the believer been saved?

I believe that GOD our father through the Lord Jesus Christ saves us from ourselves. As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (Romans 3:10 KJV) When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:25-26 KJV)

    Thoughts on war..... THOUGHTS?

-- Excerpt from a speech delivered in 1933, by Major General Smedley Butler, USMC. War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses. I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag. I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

    I Don't Speak Dog

A guy gets a new dog, a nice Jewish dog. He names the dog Einstein and trains Einstein to do a couple of tricks. He can't wait to show Einstein off to his neighbor. A few weeks later when the neighbor finally comes over, the guy calls Einstein into the house, bragging about how smart he is. The dog quickly comes running and stands looking up at his master, tail wagging excitedly, mouth open, tongue hanging out, eyes bright with anticipation. The guy points to the newspaper on the couch and commands "Fetch!"Immediately, the dog climbs onto the couch and sits, his tail wagging furiously. Then all of a sudden, he stops. His doggie smile disappears. He starts to frown and puts on a sour face. Looking up at his master, he whines, "You think this is easy, wagging my tail all the time? Oy vey ... And you think it's easy eating that junk that you call designer dog food? Forget it ... it's too salty and it gives me gas. It's disgusting I tell you!" The neighbor is absolutely amazed ... stunned. In astonishment, he says, "I can't believe it. Einstein can speak. Your dog actually talks. You asked him to fetch the newspaper and he is sitting on the sofa talking to us." "I know, I know," says the dog owner. "He's not yet fully trained. He thought I said kvetch."

Your call, thanks to freedom of choice

Something to think about when in a discussion on any topic. Constant harping closes the intended mind. The TRUTH, as it might understood, when used as a bludgeon can be comapred to using a large sword for a scalple. It just makes a mess of things and does not cure what might be ailing the other that another is trying to deliver from what is percive to be anothers UNtruth/ ailment............>>>> is not GOD about LOVE.

    Presidential candidates

Never said that at all. I didn't mean imposters in the typical sense at all. There are many liberal republicans that are more democrat in ideology than conservative. Why they identify with republicans is a mystery. Of course republicans will stoop to the same kind of attacks. There is as much of a difference between conservatives and the mainstream republican party as there is between conservative and democrats. A liberal republican is only marginally better than a democrat.

    Presidential candidates

I haven't forgotten anything. Of course the liberals passing themselves off as republicans will be right in there. However at this point it is blacks and white liberals that are condemning him. It is not difficult to determine the differences between a lot of candidates . Bill Clinton was a well known immoral sleeze long before he ran for president. Obama told us exactly who he was while he was running.

    Presidential candidates

Yes. The increasingly disturbing reality is the increasing prevalence of religious prejudice. And because it is linked to deeply held values and often linked to ones heritage, ethnicity and now politics, it is really hard to sort out and all the more difficult to resolve. And it is all the more difficult because many see nothing wrong with it at all and in fact feel morally justified in holding such a prejudice. For Ben, expect him to be questioned about how he can keep the Sabbath as president, a 24/7 job and of course having to deal with he many misconceptions and confusion about Adventists.

The viewpoint that you never hear about

The only thing that is hard .... is when one part of the world .... tries to impose it's will on another part of the world on this matter. Let each district (union) decide for themselves. That way it won't be hard on anyone.

    The Will

This may not be a terribly profound quotation from Ellen White for some people, but when I ran across it in the new Ellen White compilation of her letters and manuscripts (1845-1859) I thought it was a different way of looking at man's will and the part our submission plays in the Christian life. “I saw that the will is either submitted to Jesus for Him to govern and lead, or the person retains or sets up his or her own will, not willing to submit to Jesus against his own peculiar desires or will. Then Satan steps in and he molds this will to his own pleasure. Christ or Satan has the government of the will, and we are the subjects of one or the other.” p. 557 Ellen White, Letter 1, 1858 quoted in The White Estate, Inc. The Ellen G. White Letters and Manuscripts with Annotations, Vol. 1. Hagerstown, MD: Review and Herald Publishing Association, 2014.

Would your church throw a party for a Prostitute?

Yes absolutely. But whatever you do .... don't serve coffee. The church has to make a stand somewhere after all. Good Grief.

NOTE: Ellen White had the credentials of an ordained minister. Do not confuse that with a ministerial license.

    Prosperity

So to you prosperity means flaunting wealth? I've known some wealthy people who, other than the car they drove on special occasions, lived no differently than a middle class person who lived within their means and were saving for their retirement. It wasn't until I got to know them pretty well, and I was a poor man whom they accepted as an equal, that I began to understand just how wealthy they were. They were very prosperous. They just didn't flaunt it. Being wealthy and flaunting wealth are two different things, and your example conflates them. Flaunting wealth is ego driven. Being wealthy can be nothing more than being in the right place at the right time and working hard to capitalize on the opportunity.
