Making Good Decisions out of Poor Decisions

As I reflect on my life I look back over and reflect that a number of my decisions were the wrong decision. It seems that young people are required to make some of the hardest decisions at a very early age when perhaps they do not have the experience of life to guide them in their decision making processes. I am fortunate though in that in amongst the bad decisions that I made were some good decisions also. I married the right person, and found a career that was the right one. Naturally I became a born again Christian and I began to make decisions based on what I felt Christ was calling me to do rather than what simply seemed to be the best option at the time. What I would like to say to people is that poor decisions do not have to become your life story. We all make mistakes in some cases very big ones, yet there is no life that God cannot take hold of and make new, no matter what you have done. Don't live your life continuing to make poor decisions one after another because you think that is the kind of person you are. - It's okay to embrace change and to find a new way to live your life.

    Till vs No-Till

The links connected with hugelkultur and permaculture were very informative. With hugelkultur a person would need to find a fair amount of topsoil in order to cover the piles of decaying wood. I wonder what the lifespan of one of those piles is. I suppose the topsoil could be pulled off and used to cover a new pile of wood. According to some of the sources, pine, fir, and oak aren't the best to use, which we have an almost unlimited supply, but we do have some ash. I really appreciate your suggestion, TQ, and will likely try the hugelkultur method, not in town where we are renting, but on the 51 acres of land we own in the country. The zone we live in is supposed to have up to 80 inches of precipitation a year, but we haven't actually received that much for a while. With long, dry summers, a no-water garden is important, especially with new California laws regulating and taxing water pumped out of private wells.

Did the Pope's new pro-gay initiative suffer a setback?

I think they will do what's popular with the world in order to secure popularity....

How much do God's rules matter?

Gail, I would say the author of that statement doesn't really understand God in the least. His rules, and His people, matter so much to Him that He sacrificed His own Son to do four things: 1. To show how much His rules really matter. 2. To show how much His loves His people. 3. To show what His rules really are. 4. To show it is possible to lives according to His rules.
