    Sabbath Sermon: Adam and Steve

LHC, That does seem to be just a further cop out. I am not asking for any of the ideas you have suggested. The reason I first asked the question, "Then why do you keep sinning?" was not to accuse you or trap you or censure you nor embarrass you. It was simply to make the point that the proposition that you indicated that God will give the victory, etc. has been greatly misused by many in the perfectionist ideology and the last generation theology crowd. The premise that is that we can achieve a state of sinless perfection, and must before the Lord's return. God has promised, so we just need to claim it and we can overcome all sin in our lives. But asking my question simply unmasks the singular lack of success and the exercise in futility in that ideology. Not a single person advocating the Last Generation Theology ideas can with honesty and confidence answer that they are yet free from sinning. I really did not expect that you would either. It is not to put you down or discourage you. It is simply facing the reality of our sinful existence this side of the Second Coming. Our only hope of salvation is the accept that we are only righteous by faith, by accepting that our Substitute is righteous and we can only be saved though His righteousness. And in the context of this thread we are no better or worse off than anyone in the LGBTQ community.

LHC, Moderators are people who post here just like everyone else. As such, they post like everyone else. That would only be a problem if a Moderator were to use the poser to edit & delete in an inappropriate manner. As I recall, there was a time when you posted in a manner that people often did not understand you. In recent times, you have been understood, more often, as I say you, anyway. If you think that you have been inappropriately treated by a Moderator, you can always appeal to Stan, Tom or Gail.

    Should Christians Spank Their Children?

I think spanking has it's place. I got spanked and turned out pretty good. What it teaches is .... there are consequences to one's actions. Both good and bad people have to deal with consequences. Having disciple in the family .... does not mean there is no love. Quite the contrary. If there is no love .... there will be no discipline.

4 Expelled From Private University Over Sabbath Exams

Why would Adventists attend Catholic Private University and have expectations for such accommodations without stipulating it as prior contractual agreement prior to taking of such class? Likewise, why would they demand money from the school in such case, when scholarship award is a prerogative of a private institution? A Catholic school would have a set of beliefs consistent with certain order that all of the students have to comply with. Why would making institutional preference in a private institution be a problem in such case? Do you want Catholics attending Adventist institutions and complaining about the schedule or the food?

Is coffee drinking really a sin?

Driving is soporific for me, even when driving in the morning after a good night sleep. When I start squirming and exercising my limbs to keep me awake, my wife starts getting nervous. That's when I drink my coke.

"But the Twelve Apostles Were All Male"

While giving this article a quick reread a thought occurred to me. It was triggered by the reference to Judas. Men's failure. Even among those chosen. Then it hit me. The story of the history of God's people as recorded throughout Scripture is littered with the failures of men in leadership. Failure of those chosen for leadership with God's blessing, in spite of his blessing. Failure that nearly destroyed God's people, that thwarted God's leading. Repeatedly. Yet throughout that same history there are stories of a few good women. Most all of them rose above obstacles and opposition and the strong and harsh patriarchal culture to a challenge to do a special God ordained task and yes, even leadership under God's blessing. But how many failed? Compare their stories with those of the men. I think it is not unreasonable to conclude that when God called women, they were less likely to fail and remain faithful to their calling from God than the men. Some would tell us these were just exceptions to God's plan that He allowed for unusual circumstances and not a clear enough mandate to allow women in leadership and ministry unless their are special ciucmstnace where men are not available. Ellen White is included in that. But maybe God is trying to quietly remind of us of a truth that when He chooses a woman it is a good idea. It has his blessing. Women can succeed where men may fail. Their examples should tell us something. When will we get that message?

"But the Twelve Apostles Were All Male"

There are a number of references in the writings of Ellen White on the humanity of Christ where she makes it clear that Jesus had to appear like a person of the current Jewish society. The people had to recognize him as one of them before they could see that He was also divine.

    Sabbath Sermon: Adam and Steve

I don't see a conflict. Troublers of Israel were prophets and others who stood for unpopular truth. I changed the quote I usedt because I do not believe we should go out of our way to be disagreeable or unnecessarily controversial. However as EGW said we should be willing to stand for the right "though the Heavens fall."
