Zuni Waffle Garden
rudywoofs (Pam) reacted to teresaq for a topic
For conserving water especially in hot, dry areas make waffle beds like the Zuni. Also has a few other water conserving ideas. http://amarillotableland.wordpress.com/2011/11/06/waffle-beds/ http://www.learn2grow.com/gardeningguides/watering/application/SaveWaterOldFashioned.aspx http://www.off-grid.net/2005/05/30/irrigation-secrets-of-the-ancients/ http://www.9news.com/story/life/home-garden/proctors-tips/2014/04/17/waffle-gardens-water/7790369/1 point -

Words are handed down from one gen to the next. After a while the currnet gen forgets what the orininal meanings of words were. Sometimes the original becomes lost except to those who had it ingrained in their culture. It reminds me of some Bible texts about speech, the need to be careful. We all to often just go for slang terminology when we would be better off useing courteous, well spoken words.1 point -

How much fit for heaven must one become? "There are those who have known the pardoning love of Christ and who really desire to be children of God, yet they realize that their character is imperfect, their life faulty, and they are ready to doubt whether their hearts have been renewed by the Holy Spirit. To such I would say, Do not draw back in despair. We shall often have to bow down and weep at the feet of Jesus because of our shortcomings and mistakes, but we are not to be discouraged. Even if we are overcome by the enemy, we are not cast off, not forsaken and rejected of God." "The Father beholds not your faulty character, but He sees you as clothed in My perfection."1 point -

And as so often you seem prone to do you continue to use derogatory and demeaning and insulting characterizations of black people that tend to diminish and dehumanized. (You do realize that "ninny" is regarded by some to be a racial slur, short for picaninny, a term akin to calling a black man "boy".) You focus on spurious reasons why anyone would support him as if that was a predominant thought among blacks who voted for Obama.1 point -

Yes I agree there may have been other women judges. I also get from the text he was seeking sanctuary, at least from what he thought was an ally, but no sanctuary was given because of his being an enemy of God's people. Scripture states Jael was the wife of Heber and Sisera went to her because there was peace between his house and the king of Hazor.1 point -

Since you brought up Deborah, first the book of Judges has 12 Judges one from each tribe. This indicates that each tribe gave a story of one of their judges and there may have been other women judges. Scholars have also pointed that with Sisera going to rest at Jael's tent was that Jael must have been a female priest and that Sisera was going expecting the concept of "Sanctuary" however with him being an enemy of God's people and Jael being a priest of the true God, like when miserable Joab went to Sanctuary from Solomon, the tradition of Sanctuary was not honored.1 point -

All part of the transparent conspiracy to ensure that Obama would fail. Demonize him. Accuse him of all manner of evil and unAmerican conduct. Even accuse him of not being an American. Refuse to cooperate. Refuse to even try to find a compromise position. Frustrate and oppose every move he makes even when he proposes things the Republicans had initially advocated for. The level of opposition has gone well beyond politics. It is personal. Much of it is equally transparently an effort to ensure that the next time we have a black candidate, even a popular and well regarded one, conservative or liberal, Obama's face will come to mind. No need to over analyze or consider where that leads us.1 point -

While our histories prior to the book "The Unknown Prophet" in the 1970s and 80s thought that Foy had rejected the message and died soon there after, that research found that he was faithful. Then as Mrs. White started her ministry, Foy showed the spirit of Jonathan and John the Baptist by getting out of her way. He left his comfortable life in main stream America to move to the back woods of Maine. There he lived a good long life searching for people who lived out in the backwoods, who did not have much contact with others and he would search them out to minister to them and raise up churches where they could worship. When we see him he will have a special crown, full of stars, but a few stars are really going to catch our attention. Whether they are a different color or brilliance, we'll see what God designs, but those who he searched out the forgotten people in the backwoods of Maine will have some way of being different from the stars that he won when he lived on the mainstream and from those that he shares with Mrs. White. But he was faithful and he did not die soon after but lived a long and fruitful life for the Lord and his neighbors! Someone who we can be proud of indeed!1 point -

why is remarriage ok with our pastors but not ok with Paul
Liz reacted to TruthSeeker123 for a topic
With regards to the OP, I don't think you really want to divorce your wife and have great sympathy with your situation. It's clear that you want to do the right thing and I commend you for that. But, is forcing your estranged wife to remain married to you, even though she wants out and has established moral grounds for divorce, the right thing to do? From what I gather the only reason why you don't want to divorce her is out of fear of not being morally able to remarry her if she repents in the future. Is it true? If I could advise you my advice would be to let her go. However, if your wife is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, I would advise you to write her a letter and pour your heart out to her and not give up on her. It might be that she suffers from a complex (as a result of the abuse) thinking that she doesn't deserve you, your love and your kindness. Patience is needed with survivors of sexual abuse. Most spouses of survivors say that life with them is a living hell until they underwent restoration allowing God to heal their brokenness. My advice can be summarised as: (1) Divorce her because forcing her to remain married to you even though moral grounds for divorce has been established is not right; (2) If she is a survivor of sexual abuse, hang in there, be patient and try to win back her love coz sometimes it can be a living hell (and don't divorce her). Alternatively, you could divorce her and try to woo her all over again.1 point -
