  1. Again, we run in with the same issue of "liberalism" to be a vague trash can label that means everything that's trash . I find it a bit vague and disingenuous. By which standards will we judge "liberalism", and how do we even begin to apply such definition to the Biblical narrative? Jesus was fairly "liberal" when we compare it to "conservative Jews" of his time. Luther was a "liberal". So was Adventism at its inception, when they broke away from other contemporary denominations. I think it's time to ditch the term, and exchange it to something more fitting and appropriate.

  2. Actually, women pastors that are commisioned have been able to baptize for quite a few years now. The rest is correct...

    Helping the poor?

These were individuals making the call, not the .org. When we as individuals render to whatever the need is, the church is doing its duty because 'we' are the church. The 'church' is not shrugging it off, as all the churches I have been a part of, have organized programs as well. All the .org programs can only have so much success, it is up to us, as individuals, to take up the command of Christ.

    Anybody here___________

Reality is the Bible, we don't need to read or hear about all the different conspiracy gossip garbage. Those that are ready and know their Bibles will be well aware of what's going on throughout the world. Plain and simple.

Hard-fought religious freedom something to celebrate this Thanksgiving

that's pretty cool ... Bryan Fulwider is my cousin. He's the Congregationalist member of "The Three Wise Guys" program on the Friends Talking Faith radio program, where he and the other two members (Rabbi Steven Engel of Orlando, and Imam Muhammad Musri, also of Florida) discuss religious and spiritual matters...

The Holy Spirit in the form of a dove

when a bird alights, from flight, it is gentle with perfect balance. yes the word dove is there, but it is "like a dove". not in the very form of a dove. doves were used for the sacrifices as were lambs. Jesus was harmless as a dove and pure as a lamb. Animals were used to draw comparisons. just as animals are used to describe people, stubborn as a ox, strong as a horse, eating like a pig. because these are word pictures we immediately understand.

  9. But, I have to agree with your take on this issue, if I interpreting it correctly. There's so much "theological editorializing" going on in Adventist church, that it seems to be centered around the idea of sitting around in a circle and discussing the "proper exegesis" and "proper systematic theology". That's always bothered me, from the day one that I've joined the church. It almost seems like God would care more about the issue of women's ordination, jewelry, sabbath and etc... than he would care about people in the church being in debt, struggling through divorce, living in broken communities, and in an environment where "edutainment cycle" throws their kids into a mindset of perpetual narcissism and shallow and reactionary mentality that's very easy to control. Where are the theological conferences on those issues with decisive plans of action? Thank you for letting me vent
