Again, it's not a matter of "forgiving" for some offense....it's just the idea that not everyone's personality blends with everybody else's - if someone says they absolutely cotton to everyone, I would question that person's veracity. I can't imagine heaven as being a place where everyone has the same personality characteristics. It would be utterly boring. I *do* think, however, (as some of the above comments have mentioned), that we will naturally gravitate towards those with whom we have similar "likes" and "tastes".... and perhaps as time goes on and we all learn more and more, there might be some sort of mutual interests that *do* get discovered...

I think that having an attitude that your table is open to anyone to join you for a meal is a great way to live our Christian faith and something that brings blessings to us without meaning to! - I hope Christmas works well for you Naomi, you are a great encouragement to so many people in here and very much appreciated by us all.

Thank you for this outline ... the churches in my district are smaller however, we make every effort in all three to follow a program of service very similar to the program which you shared. It doesn't always work as desired but is much better than the levels of confusion I have witnessed in some churches. Perhaps everyone does not need a degree of structure, I do ... and as an often presenter it is a blessing to know what to expect. nothing is perfect, nor works as planned all the time but 'tis better to have tried and missed the mark, than to not even have a mark.

I believe there will be many in Heaven from different denominations both Protestant and Catholic. In the last days before Jesus comes again Satan will work great signs and lying wonders. If for example we believe the dead are currently conscious and can speak to us we can be deceived. All will have opportunity to understand and accept- or reject- the true Sabbath before Jesus comes. So doctrine will matter more and more at the end of time, not less and less. Of course, being a Christian means much more than doctrine, it means having a transformative faith relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus.

Someone voiced an opinion on something he has no understanding of. Unless I am mistaken .... this man was not in any of the Grand Juries so he knows not of that which he speaks. I pray that our other leaders are not as foolish.

I am trying hard to understand this. Either SDA women are not suppose to have any ministry ... or SDA women are suppose to have a ministry but we are not suppose to acknowledge it through an ordination service. or They can have a ministry and we can acknowledge it. Which is it?

I didn't know Barry Black was part of the 'hands up don't shoot' crowd. That's rather disappointing, because it is not an accurate representation of what actually happened. (don't let facts ruin a good story I guess). The 'I cant breath' story and video is much worse and very difficult to watch... My opinion is that Barry could have done better by keeping his hands down. Must be nice to be paid for your government job while protesting the very same government you are working for...instead of actually working. Or is that stealing/looting?

Amen! But the study of the Word will teach us nothing without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We don't think like God; and He doesn't think like us. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. Without the aid of the Spirit, the best understanding we can Have is human understanding. We need both the Word (Logos) and Spirit (Rhema) to understand God.

I appreciated the account of your friend who drove a taxi and his observation. Yes I agree that inviting a few people who have no place to go is such a kind and rewarding thing to do. It seems to be just what our family has always done ... without planning. For this last Thanksgiving my family came to visit for a couple of days. I was excited about seeing my immediate family for the first time in a long time, and was surprised when a couple of neighbors showed up for Thanksgiving diner, compliments of my kids who met them in snow ball fights or building snow men. You don't have to look far to see those who need an "adopted" family for holiday times .... (or other times) Being alone was actually a good thing ... thank you for the reminder of the DVD's

The Jewishness of the symbols have been revealed in verity of the God incarnate man Jesus Christ. Yes, Salvation is of the Jews and Jesus was a top-knotch impeccable, sinless Jew. And still is. We believers are the body of Christ and we are referred to as spiritual Israel of today.That inadvertedly makes us symbolic Jews, too.

First, we are Wesleyan, headship theology is based on Calvinism. Second, we live in the time of the Investigative Judgment. Part of this is that we are living in a time in history when we are able to learn more about the Bible then ever before, and sadly these discoveries indicate that the Bible supports the ordination of women. That the anti-ordination view was started by Jesus Ben Sirach 200 years before Jesus. That in the time of Jesus it was a highly debated issue. Jesus gave his view as to what side he supported. However the anti-ordination view eventually won out in Judaism. People see which side won and are not familiar that it was a debated issue, and they read the view that eventually won as the only view that existed and read it back into the Bible. I'm sorry but we need to be followers of Jesus Christ, but too many have instead decided to follow Jesus Ben Sirach.

It depends on how you define an "idol" and how you define "worship". The original German version of O Tannenbaum did not even refer to christmas trees-- it was about fir trees, contrasted with the unfaithfulness of a lover. That could be innocent enough, if the author didn't believe in the "powers" of the trees or venerate "nature" as a god. Idolatry has often involved trees, which were ascribed supernatural powers or venerated as the source of good things. The English version of the song is certainly addressing the christmas tree and praising it as a source of pleasure and music. Is that worship?
