Is coffee drinking really a sin?

Lyndon says: "It happens a lot and happens it seems to young people consuming caffeine in addition to energy drinks." I read about a guy that died from an overdose of pure pharmaceutical caffiene; but again, this thread is about coffee; not pharmaceuticals. Again, I don't know of any documented case of a person dying from coffee poisoning. If you think drinking coffee is immoral or dangerous, don't drink it. I don't have an issue with the morality or danger of drinking coffee; so I will continue to enjoy my morning cup or two. I've been asked if there will be coffee in heaven. I don't think so - not because it is sinful; but because we probably won't need anything to keep our perfect immortal bodies alert and awake. If there is coffee there, I'll drink it cuz I like it.

My day job - - Feb 2015 in english.. :)

I am impressed! The first flipp through was showing me a good variety of articles and pictures.I found ther quality of appearance pleasant. Nothing offensive and (Gott sei dank) nothing that gives our SDA church the stigma of being a sectarish cult group. I couldn't read anything because the print was way too tiny for my brain to scan and comprehend. Then I went a second time through the magazine and banged on the page with the courser maus. Wahlah! it got larger in view and even a slider appeared to give me control over the size of pics and printed matter. Now I understand a bit of how to manuever back and forth. It was a nice handsome pic of you on the editor's page with a good write-up. Personally, I like sitting upright and reading from my monitor any magazines. -BTW,,,, don't waste a tear on any American south of your border ever sounding off in a negative way about something pertaining to doctrine, teaching. Or even comparing you to Johnston of R&H of gone-bye days. The Ami's are notorious for being fault-finding, and critical. They didn't leave a drop of mercy on that guy's head after all the attacks leveled at him over the years. Being an editor of any magazine does have it's hazards. See Paris and the blood-bath there. there. [

    Meeting times at your church?

Another option for SS classes is having the discussion/study time for the whole SS time slot rather than a traditional SS program. It allows for more discussion time which usually gets more participation. It can cause some friction if the church still has a SS program and one or more SS classes forgo the program. But my experience is that those who object get over it eventually.

    Cast Out Of Heaven

I understand what you're saying JoeMo. But I believe that God loves my tormentor just as much as He loves me. God would have us love our enemies, and pray prayers like, "Lord, lay not this sin to their charge". The Lord is ready to grant such prayers, I believe. Our tormentors, molesters, and abusers (both human and angelic) are loved with the same everlasting love that we are. Many people find this prospect to be too much, too extreme, because this idea is quite ruinous to any desire we might have for retaliation or revenge.

    An end to sacrifices

Jackson, The prophecies concerning the destruction of "earth" at the "day of the LORD", are found in the language of prophecies concerning the destruction of Jerusalem and Judea by the Babylonians. They are dual prophecies - which have fulfillment in two contexts. I could possibly understand Daniel 9:24-27 as a dual prophecy. But that's not the subject of this thread. I am looking for proofs that Hebrew Roots people could accept. Daniel 9:24-27, and Colossians 2:14 are NOT ones that they could accept. But you keep saying, "You have to take the ones I like." Come on Jackson, there are other proofs. How about "Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us (1Co 5:7 NKJ). If Jesus Christ IS our Passover sacrifice, then the animal that was sacrificed in the Temple Court (for some 35 years after Jesus died) was NOT. Not many people outside of the HR movement realize that when Jesus cleansed the Temple, He was removing the "level" from His "house" according to the Passover commandment. It was all to fulfill prophecy. Ron said that God never "changes". I agree with that, but if it was HIS plan all along to fulfill the prophecy of the Tabernacle/priesthood/sacrifices IN HIS SON, who became all three, then replacing those symbols with the reality would not really be a change of His plan. I remember that Israel did NOT circumcise their sons during the 40 years of wilderness wandering when they were under the sentence of Yahweh. But WHY NOT? I don't remember reading any specific command of the LORD, telling them NOT to do this. And if they did NOT circumcise their sons, that would mean that they could not eat of the Passover. We just assume that the LORD told them, thru Moses, to suspend that rite for 40 years. Personally, I see current Israel (the redeemed people, not the political nation) as wandering in the wilderness. We are not yet restored to "the land". Hence - the rite of circumcision is suspended for now. When we cross the sky, THEN Yeshua Himself will "circumcise the people", (when we receive new spiritual bodies and the old "flesh" is gone) and THEN we will be ready to eat the Passover with Him, in His Father's kingdom.

John Boehner Opens House Session With Islamic Prayer To Allah

And that freedom comes from the Person Who made America great. The reason for the separation between Him and all other gods is because the God Who created us only desires for us the best. Every man/woman to his/her own choice. 1“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6“At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ 7“Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’ 9“ ‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ 10“But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. 11“Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ 12“But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ 13“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour....Matt 25 15“So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’a spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again....Matt 24 God is Love! Jesus Saves!

    Is G-d Omnipresent?

My own take on God's omnipresence is that He is not/cannot be in infinite number of places in person, but that He is intimately aware of everything in His creation to such an extent that it is as though He is in every place.

    Liberal Pastor?

Joe: To all of your questions, YES. I consider myself to be a "middle of the road" SDA, in part because I am a mixture of conservative and liberal viewpoints. That is true for both my religious and political//social viewpoints. IOW, a conservative religious perspective does not ipso facto translate to a a conservative political/social perspective. NOTE: This should all be considered in context. My so-called liberal religious views would in the overall religious climate be considered quite conservative.
