Makes sense.....
AliAgins and one other reacted to Outta Here for a topic
Still, there are certain subjects I will NEVER speak about when using my "real name". I choose to use a pen-name here at ClubAdventist and other places online because I want to speak freely and honestly--without having to hide my true thoughts. I maintain that a person can be respectful of others, avoid rude comments and a harsh tongue--even while using a pseudonym.2 points -
Carson Campaign falling apart
phkrause and one other reacted to Bravus for a topic
I'll agree with you on that. Though possibly not for a reason you'll like. A comedian friend summed it up perfectly: The GOP debates are supervillain contests. The way to win is to demonstrate more evil - I'll bomb more people, start more wars, drop wages and conditions further, and so on - and also to be ruder, more arrogant and more aggressive than anyone else. Dr Carson has some pretty evil policy positions, but he's just too civil in discussion to win a supervillain contest. Trump, on the other hand, is so good at supervillaining he doesn't even need to show up to win!2 points -

In the Now the Fallout thread about the GC's decision regarding ordination for women, Myron posted a comment that started out with this: In order to keep from side-tracking the original discussion maybe we can discuss the covenants and the underlying problem here.1 point -

GLOBAL WARMING QUESTION
CoAspen reacted to phkrause for a topic
We don't need the media, Democrats, republicans, etc. to feel that the earth has been warming. I can remember when I was growing up in NYC, we used to actually have all the 4 seasons. But as time went by, summer got longer, autumn shorter. We moved up to Massachusetts in March of '73. When we first moved there, the first few years as soon as September came around, we went directly from pretty warm days to cold days. Not freezing, but at least a 20-30 degrees deference. I can always remember saying to my wife, how short the summers were and how long the winters were. But as the years have gone by, its actually gone the other way. There's actually been barely any spring or fall! Its been pretty much summer and than winter. The biggest thing I've noticed is, the summer's have gotten much warmer and the winters, much colder. Look at this year, down here in Florida, where usually by middle of November it starts to cool down, but not this year. It was warm right into January. And than its only been a few weeks, and now its warming up. Sure we still get some cold days, but by the afternoon its pretty warm. I also remember when we first moved here back in '11 summer was a little shorter than now. As far as I'm concerned I don't need any political party to tell me its getting warmer each year1 point -

The real name may be a common law name, which is what one is known by in society. One's legal name may be the name on the Birth Certificate, but in many cases that is not the name by which one is known. The name on my birth certificate in not the name by which I am known in society.1 point -

Two things: 1) Please do not use all caps when writing. It's considered to be poor internet etiquette. 2) Your statement was snide, and utterly out of place, no matter what your opinion is of women's ordination.1 point -

Left-Handed People Now Eligible For Disability

HomeAll NewsLeft-Handed People Now Eligible For Disability Left-Handed People Now Eligible For Disability ALL NEWS BREAKING NEWS POLITICS TRENDING NEWS /FEBRUARY 7, 2015 /HOLLY BITTINGER /11319 VIEWS /BENEFITSCOMEDYDISABILITYELHDHUMORLEFT-HANDEDLEFTIESLHNANEWSOBAMASATIRESOCIAL SECURITY As of February 1st, people suffering from severe cases of left-handedness may be eligible to receive social security benefits. Lefties everywhere celebrated a long awaited victory with the passing of the Justice for Dexterously Challenged Act, which adds left-handedness to the growing list of recognized disabilities. The JDC Act was readily welcomed by President Barack Obama (pictured above), who is left-handed himself. He carefully signed the document, taking not to smear the ink, a common problem among lefties. President of the Left-Handed Nondiscrimination Association (LHNA) Mary Cavil told us, “We’ve been fighting a long time for this day. Left-handedness is associated with creativity and going against the grain, but what people don’t seem to realize is that many of us struggle with everyday tasks like adjusting the car stereo or using a can opener. And others are subject to harsh discrimination, being told by school teachers that writing left-handed is a sign of the devil.” While some lefties may have the luxury of being more ambidextrous than others, Mary suffers from ELHD, or “extreme left-handed disorder,” rendering her right hand completely useless and making it impossible for her to hold down a job. With over 33 million new eligible Americans, applications are already pouring in. Image: Barack Obama1 point -

"my observation from reading the LA Times & Seattle Times (both very liberal newspapers), and generally watching CNN and ABC News (never Fox), is that our POTUS comes across as being more concerned about gun control than he is about terrorism or protecting Americans." Which is entirely, 100%, the rational concern to have. The chance of being killed by a random American with a gun is literally hundreds of times as great as the chance of being killed by a terrorist. If you want to protect Americans (from actual death and injury, rather than from irrational fear), gun control is absolutely the place to put your energy.1 point -
