Thank you JoeMo. But mine is not all that miraculous. I've known folks who were delivered from $1000 a days heroin habits without withdrawals. God's power is limitless. If He can give sight to the blind restore withered limbs and raise the dead He can surely give a us new heart and give His spirit to those who ask.

Several; previous posts, have mentioned celibate gay Christians: 1) Heterosexual people are heterosexual, period. Some may be celibate and some may not be. January 24, 2016, Sylvia Sanders Jarrett Carcich (66) lost her fight with Advanced Stage IV Ovarian Cancer. Her Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Caldwell Adventist Church March 26, 2016 @ 4pm. The service will be presented by the Middleton Fire Department which will include a parade of Fire Apparatus, and a touching protocol by the Treasure Valley Firefighter Honor Guard. blue, Do not underestimate the miracle of the gifts of repentance and of eternal life. These are the greatest miracles of all. That we - broken and flawed human beings - have been freed from the bondage and wages of sin through the love and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus. The fact that we are a new creation with renewed minds is an incredible miracle. Effortless deliverance from addictions and character flaws are also miracles; but they pale in comparison to the incredible miracle of reconciliation with God and life everlasting in the Kingdom in exchange for nothing but faith and cooperation with His Spirit.

The answer to your question is available to you, if you want to see it. It lies in the "queers" who have heeded the call of Christ and are sinning no more in the manner that you think.

As long as that can be manipulated it is not murder apparently. My son was born not breathing so at that point he was not human I guess. The Dr's almost superhuman effort and my desire for him to live made him a human being? At the same stage of his development many babies have been aborted. Prevented from taking that first breath by the Dr and the manner of abortion.

Not the subject of my comment. What about the humanity of the unborn child which is the subject of this thread? That was the point I was addressing. The implications of Green's comment is that the breath of life only comes to a child after it is born, so killing it THEN is murder. But the unborn child also has the breath of life from its parents and thus is also human. We all derive our life from Adam to which God gave the breath of life. The unborn child is just as much human as it is after it is born. Read again what Green wrote: His definition is that only when a child is breathing air itself, and not from its mother is it a soul. Is then an unborn child not human? Is killing the child before it is born not murder? The implication of Green's comment is that it is not murder because the child has not breath air on its own.

In continuation: I agree that through God and His grace victory over sin and over unrighteousness is possible. And I too believe as you do that all we add is our cooperation which I believe God works in us both to will and do. I wonder though if your application of 1John 1:9 is what was intended. I don't believe and living breathing human being is without sin, but the way I see it that doesn't mean that a converted man must necessarily fall short. After all God through grace has made it possible that he not, with every temptation. The fact that he remains in this mortal body which is naturally drawn to sin means he is not without sin. In a conversation with one of the authors of those quotes in post 6 of this topic we discussed what he thought "IF" meant in 1John 1:9. His answer was "IF" meant "WHEN". I suppose that if John meant "WHEN" he would have, under the inspiration of the Spirit, would have written it that way. The question is why did he write "IF"? In my opinion "IF" denotes uncertainty rather than certainty. To me the verse sees the possibility of a converted man sinning but does not guarantee it. And I think one must read the verse completely to get John's intent, "that ye sin not". Certainly the verse is not simply guaranteeing a provision for continued sinful behavior. Another thing that came to mind while reading your post was the effect of self speech. For an illustration let consider a man such as you mention who has a history of habitual sin. Let's say for this illustration that his habitual sin is drinking. He comes to hear the gospel and is convicted that he must change and that God will help him, through grace, by that strength with might in the inner man that Robert brought up. But because his temptation is internal and he is drawn to his habitual sin, tempted. If in he, in his self speech, continually tells himself that he will never be able to break free from his addiction, that God can't help him, how successful should we suppose his deliverance will be? Let me share a little bit of my testimony. From the age of 13 I began experimenting with drugs and became a functional addict and a heavy drinker. It wasn't until after I read the scripture through at about 22 years of age that I started to feel a desire to seek God and submit to His leading in my life. But I didn't submit until I was almost 30. I did not want my addictions to hold me back from God but the day before my baptism I got high again. In the water I talked with God telling Him I knew that my addictions were not compatible with this relationship I wanted with Him and confessed I was powerless to change and that He would have to take it away. At that moment I felt a great burden lifted from me and a great sense of peace. I was certain that God heard my sincere prayer and was assured of His help. Praise God He took all that from me. I've been serving the lord since 1980 and have never reverted back even once. Not in my own strength or power of will, but simply in trusting Him. He is faithful. I'm not claiming perfection, but in that area of my life I witness God's power which I believe is available to every child of God to overcome every tendency to sin. So I think like Paul I can say, "the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." And again, like Paul, "I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." With those words Paul then advised: Php 3:15 ¶ Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Php 3:16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

I suspect that Dr. Carson was talking about a normal, healthy, individual and not about a person with a disease of the brain.

Q1: A1: Yes I suppose an unconverted man can delight in the law of God but without the ability to truly be subject to it. Every unconverted Pharisee delighted in the law of God. The verse you allude to, Rom 8:7, does not say they hate the law but that they cannot be subject to it. Again, if you accept that Pharisees delighted in God's law you'd have to admit that they were converted and so saved. Are you ready to say that? I don't know that Eph 3:16 supports your statement that the inward man "always" refers to the converted mind. I read the verse as a prayer of Paul's requesting strength with might through the Spirit be granted in the inner man of his readers. Obviously if it is a prayer then at some point they were not yet being strengthened. Why ask for something they already had? And if their inner man was not yet strengthened at some point was there inner man converted at some point unconverted? I think even unconverted men have an inner man. I don't know how you arrived at deliverance from the body of this death means immortality and sinlessness. Sinlessness is the ideal, I'm sure, but i suspect the deliverance had to do with what Paul describes in some of the verses in Chapter 8. Whereas the carnal man is at enmity against God and incapable to be subject to His law, when He receives the Holy Spirit that limitation is eliminated. Paul says that such a man is not in the flesh but in the Spirit. Once delivered Paul found himself no longer incapable.

Jackson, I, like Pam, believe you are sincere and passionate about what you believe. That is a good thing. All I can say is that I spent decades in the place where you are now, just as sincere and passionate as you are. By my experience, coming at my faith from that point of view, I never felt loved and accepted by Jesus. So I just surrendered. It didn't "surrender it all", I just surrendered - period. I gave up. I told Jesus that I was sick striving to keep the Law; it just was't working! I still felt rejected and like I was constantly falling short. Either His sacrifice and grace is enough or I am doomed; cuz I just couldn't do this any more. So I turned the equation around and strived to feel loved and accepted by Jesus for motivation to overcome rather than striving to overcome to feel loved by Jesus. Somehow, He encouraged me to come to Him if I was weary, and He would give me rest. That if I did indeed give up and just put on His yoke, my burden would not be heavy. Yes - I would still have to bear my cross, but it wouldn't be so burdensome. As that started to take hold, I was so exhilarated that my infatuation with God started giving me victory over things that I could never get under control before. Not just sins, but character flaws I've had since childhood. I don't have strive to obey in those areas any more because those issues have just "gone away" - that's the only way I can explain it. Is it that way with all of my issues? No - at least not yet. But I do believe that as long as Jesus and I can work on my issues together, He can keep me going through the process. I too like balance in my faith. While I can revel in the joy of the Spirit, I am also a huge fan of prophecy and finding Jesus in the OT. I went to a strictly charismatic Sabbath-keeping church for a while, but hearing of nothing but warm fuzzy things about how much Jesus loves me without delving at all into the signs of His coming and the mercy found in His OT proclamations is not balanced. So I am back at an SDA church that truly preaches a balanced message. Like I said before, blessings to you on your path.

i would add that obedience without love is useless.... faith that works by love brings the obedience of faith that comes from Jesus . Without Jesus you can do nothing...

surgery did go well, i wasnt sick after the GA like i normally am. A few biopsies were taken- which meant i bled for nearly a week instead of only for a few days. Pain was pretty bad. I did, however, catch up on some much needed sleep the next few days, as the GA left my system, all i could do is when i woke up, force myself to the bathroom, grab something light to eat, and then go back to bed. But afterds, sadly, the insomnia returned. I am not getting to sleep until about 3 am every morning. and i am usually awake by 6- but the last few days it has been 8 or 9. Those extra hours have truly been a blessing.... Thank you for all of your prayers. I surely felt them. dr Gerahty was wonderful, and my anestesiologist was fantastic. he is a local GP as well- he diagnosed me this week with a torn rotator cuff- there is much fluid in my joint.... and it is beyond painful. i will let you all know how the appointment goes in a few weeks.

It is not essential for us to be able to define just what the Holy Spirit is. Christ tells us that the Spirit is the Comforter, "the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father." It is plainly declared regarding the Holy Spirit that, in His work of guiding men into all truth, "He shall not speak of Himself." John 15:26; 16:13. {AA 51.3} The nature of the Holy Spirit is a mystery. Men cannot explain it, because the Lord has not revealed it to them. Men having fanciful views may bring together passages of Scripture and put a human construction on them, but the acceptance of these views will not strengthen the church. Regarding such mysteries, which are too deep for human understanding, silence is golden. {AA 52.1}

Green, I really think you are very, very sincere in your comments. But I think you are wrong in your estimation of JoeMo. I don't see him as saying that keeping God's commandments are unnecessary. I think he is saying that he has learned not to obsess over the letter of the law, and is letting the Holy Spirit convict him of what issues he needs to work on, and is letting the HS help him in that work. Obedience out of fear might make for a sinless life, but that life would be akin to that of a slave constantly trying to avoid the whip of the plantation master. That's no life. Instead of worrying how to prevent God from being angry with us, isn't it better to think of how to make God happy? Yes, He wants us to be obedient, but it's primarily because He knows it will make us happy too, in the long run. He doesn't want us to be obedient simply to keep us from hellfire and damnation. But that's just my perception and opinion..

The Bible never said that Satan would appear to look like YAHSHUA. Nor does it say that the beast is the papacy. It also does not say that the mark of the beast is Sunday! The “bowl” or “vial” plagues of Revelation Chapter 16, are “poured out without mercy”. They are “the great winepress of the wrath of God (Rev 14:20). “In them, the wrath of God is complete (Rev 15:1). There is no mention of any servant of God on this earth during these last wrath plagues. In fact, just before these plagues are poured out, John the Revelator sees “those who have gotten the victory over the Beast and over his image” standing on the sea of glass, which is before the thrown of God in Heaven (Rev. 15:2, Rev. 4:6). 1 Thessalonians 1:10 “... wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.” 1 Thessalonians 5:9 “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” There is a DIFFERENCE between the time of testing, and the time of wrath. The testing time, is 42 months - “time, times, and a part” - 1260 days. It is the final call to repentance. The “time of His wrath” - FOLLOWS this testing time. The time of wrath begins with the 7th trumpet - the “last trump”. Darby taught that the “vials” of wrath, will be poured out DURING the last 3.5 years. I believe the warning trumpet plagues, will take place DURING the last 3.5 years. I believe the “two witnesses” of Revelation Cpt Eleven will testify during this time. I believe the people of God will be persecuted during this time. I believe this period will be “the time of Jacob’s trouble”. The 1260 days (42 months, 3.5 years) lead up to the Second Coming in glory.

Anciently, "probation" closed for an Israelite WHEN the High Priest entered the Most Holy Place on the Day of Atonement. Any Israelite who did not humble his heart, and repent of his sin (bringing a sin offering) prior to that moment, was "cut off from the people" in the eyes of God. I personally believe the "court" scene of Daniel 7:9-10 will fulfill the Day of Atonement prophecy. IMMEDIATELY upon official transfer of dominion to the Son of Man, He will come out from the Heavenly Temple, to bless His waiting people. It will be judgment day for those "cut off". They will be left behind to suffer the 7 last plagues. Their bodies will be consumed with this earth. The redeemed will be caught up to meet the LORD. The DAY of Atonement was ONE DAY. I cannot personally believe the DAY of Atonement began back in 1844, and is still going on. Jesus knows with whom He has a relationship. It will not take Him 75 years+ to figure it out. He said, "I know my sheep."

Green, Please refrain from derogatory comments. Neither Joe nor I believe we are "wiser than the Bible". We simply do not accept the interpretation that you believe in. If we must accept the interpretation that you favor, before we can have "an honest Bible study" - with you, then it would probably be best to agree to disagree - and move on. Our sister Femster has to undergo this medical procedure and we lift her up to Your safe hands. We know that she will awake from this general anesthetic, either to continue her earthly journey or by Jesus Himself to be with Him. With You she is safe. May Your name be glorified in this situation and I ask that she be at peace. In Jesus' name- amen

Thank you for your prayers! Mae is home now! The last I heard before this is that the doctors were going to put a catheter to the area near her heart to deliver antibiotics. I don't know if they went ahead and did that. And now I get the news that she is home. I am very happy for this recovery that happened sooner rather than later

Please give little Mae the health at this tender age, that one day she will be able give you the glory, rightfully Yours, of how You personally touched her when she hadn't yet been able to call on Your name for herself.
