She had a prophetic gift, but she did not hold the office of "Prophet". She didn't even consider herself a prophet. There are many things in her writings which I cannot correlate to scripture. I have been blessed by her writings; but I only commit to my personal faith that which I find in scripture. Not knocking EGW; just saying that I am just as influenced by other writers as I am by her (including many non-SDA authors); but my beliefs are based on scripture only. Basing it on anything else puts me in a cult.

The narrative portions of Daniel are as instructive as are the prophetic portions. First the faithful were commanded to worship an image. They were commanded to participate in false worship. For disobeying, the faithful were thrown into a fiery furnace. Later, when Medo-Persia had taken over, the faithful were commanded not to engage in true worship--not to pray to any god other than King Darius. For this, Daniel was cast into a den of lions. This shows that there were two phases in Satan's methodology for attacking the faithful in the time of ancient Babylon. So in the time of the end, we should expect Satan to employ the same methodology through spiritual Babylon. First he will require Sunday worship (false worship), then will come the command forbidding true worship--observance of the Sabbath. Make no mistake, anyone who submits to the first command, will also submit to the second.

It strikes me as incredibly perverse that fear of the Sunday Law has driven people to be more afraid of electing openly Christian officials than godless secularists. Rather, it could be the moral relativists who throw the gates open to the barbarians, which drive a mass panic to re-establish some form of morality and cultural cohesion. You can already see this beginning in Europe.

Global warming, is now called climate change since it was proven that the planet is not warming up. It was called global cooling in the 1970s and another ice age was predicted. Sorry, JoeMoe, I don't believe in it. Hmmmm, I think I could be arrested for that statement. Don't tell anyone! Also, every man, woman and child on this planet could fit into the state of Texas and have a 3 foot circumference around them. We're not running out of room, but certain cities have everyone jammed up in high rises.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Rom. 6:23) "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God" (Eph. 2:8-9) Both eternal life and salvation are gifts - undeserved. You can't have one without the other.

What's wrong with being butt backward? Guns have butts. Jokes have butts. It's not a bad word, though cigarettes have butts too.

Then why the term "cut off"? Any Israelite who had not confessed his sins, and humbled his heart before the High Priest entered the MHP on Day of Atonement was "cut off from the people" in the eyes of the LORD. So MCBGM, you're a universalist?

Do we know the mind of God? Really? Yes, nothing could be done to save them from drowning, from bodily death. Once they were left outside the ark. Just as there will be nothing which can be done to save the wicked from burning. Once they are burning. But that doesn't mean nothing could be done, or can be done, to save the people themselves. Eventually, in spirit. Again, what about all the billions of little children left outside the ark? They died in the flood, too. Nothing could be done to save them from drowning either. Still it's never too late to save the children themselves, is it?

Which of the candidates would be most likely to institute a Sunday law? The one who has the least interest in following the Consititution. Many of our Consitutional rights have already been destroyed, or are currently being destroyed, and we already have governmental institutions that are outside of Constititutional bounds. For SDAs it ought to be very obvious that any political actions taken that move us away from our Constitution are a great danger to our foundational liberties. Ellen White tells us specifically that the Sunday law will come when the US finally abandons all pretense of following the Constitution, and we are already at the point of pretense in following the Constitution. So, any politition who gives only lip service to the Constitution but is willing to pass laws that not based on our Constitution is very likely to be the one who will pass laws restricting religious liberty. This makes it clear that almost all of the current presidential candidates would pass a Sunday law, and the more progressive/Socialist they are the more likely they are to do so for that side of the political spectrum does not like the Constitution.

I don't believe he is committed to religious liberty. He's committed to the the cultural preeminence of Christianity in the United States. I've never heard him speak up for the religious liberties of Muslims, Sikhs or others. To suggest that the religious liberty of evangelical Christians in the US is under threat is ridiculous.

That's exactly how I see it, yes. Good time to brush off the parable of the rich man and Lazarus.

Whilst you say the above, I invite you to read the many historical facts that I have presented, which I hope you will read, and maybe change your mind about the many things that you've said, if it is facts that you follow. It sounds like you are saying that when the lake of fire is burning the wicked, their probation is still open/not closed? That was not how it was in the days of Noah. When the door of the ark was shut probation was over.

From what I've read she still is a Seventh-day Adventist. I've been disappointed when listening to Ben Carson on how he sounds more like a general evangelical Christian rather than a Seventh-day Adventist. And that makes me wonder about Mrs. Cruz as well.
