But actually the 3 angels have been a major theme of most of my posts here. Some of the basics are as we look at the chiasm of Revelation, the center is the 3 beasts on one side and the 3 angels on the other with the point being between of "Who shall be able to stand" and it is the 144,000 in the center. So this is the capstone of Revelation. It is a miracle that being unaware of Chiastic structures we hit right on the important parts. It is a theme in scripture where especially the numbers 2 and 3 keep appearing. The 2 aspects of God, infinite/impersonal yet finite and personal. The infinite/impersonal aspects which are outside of time and space and which can only be described as "Holy, Holy, Holy" and the finite personal being the 3 manifestations of the trinity: God as power, God as friend and personality, and these two being objective manifestations of God, with God as Holy Spirit being a subjective revelation. The law of God of self sacrificing love: the 2 great principles of Love God supremely and love your neighbor as yourself and the 3 aspects of the Exodus 20 version of the 10 commandments. (there are other versions, such as Deuteronomy 5 and a number of those with the text "Do not boil a kid in it's mother's milk" are in a list of 10 commandments) but the Exodus 20 version breaks into 3 parts that correspond to the 3 angel's messages. Then there are the 3 deceptions of Satan. A whole bunch of 3s in the Bible and finally the 3 deceptions of Satan personified in the 3 beasts and fully answered by the 3 angel's messages.

Theology wise, when it comes to "the everlasting gospel", Ellen White tells us she had only a "glimmer of the light that was yet to come", but can we state this about the prophecies concerning "the little horn power"? Can we state that Ellen White was wrong? Well, not using the historicist system of interpretation*. Either God gave Ellen White insights or He did not. According to her (and I fully agree) Roman is the problem: "The Roman Church now presents a fair front to the world, covering with apologies her record of horrible cruelties. She has clothed herself in Christlike garments; but she is unchanged. Every principle of the papacy that existed in past ages exists today. The doctrines devised in the darkest ages are still held. Let none deceive themselves. The papacy that Protestants are now so ready to honor is the same that ruled the world in the days of the Reformation, when men of God stood up, at the peril of their lives, to expose her iniquity. She possesses the same pride and arrogant assumption that lorded it over kings and princes, and claimed the prerogatives of God. Peter, I do read what you post referring to Jewish customs in general. But I tend to just consume without a comment. It's a pity that I am so negligent to show my appreaciation for all the teachings on the Jewish ways of life you've been posting. I search for meaning in a deeper way of our Christian symbolism that originated in the Hebrew community. There is so much in Ask The Rabbi that has taught me a lot. And now your link to that great page offering much knowledge and teaching on the Seder celebration made me happy. Thanks a lot.

The start of the 70 weeks is from the going forth of the commandment to build and restore Jerusalem. The 457BC decree of Artaxerxes Longimanus was meant for beautification of the temple in Jerusalem. Hence it could not be the decree referred to as the start of the 70 weeks. The 70 week-prophecy is directly related with the setting up of the abomination of desolation. It looks like it will find fulfillment shortly before the 2nd coming and hence are literal 490 days instead of years.

Whether it is wrong or not that is a choice you get to make. You have made the choice that your routine and responsibilities make it logical and more convenient to attend Sunday services. No one can decide for you whether it is wrong or not. For my family,yes it would be wrong. My husband also worked many hours,six days a week and a ten hour day was a short day.We looked forward to Sabbath and yes he might take a short nap. With raising eight kids it usually was a short one. But it was a day the kids and my husband and I looked forward to the other six days

I suspect many things will succeed at this time in history that would not in times past. I know we have a different view as to events yet to unfold. Not all new approaches are wrong,but many times new approaches begin a slippery slope or is simply an old sin dressed up to be acceptable.

Let me flip this around. If a normally Sunday keeping church had services on Saturday, how would any of you feel about attending such a service? And if you did attend would you consider that consistent with your belief in keeping the Sabbath? Keeping the Sabbath is far more than walking into a church and sitting in the pew for an hour. Would I consider the attending of another denomination on Sabbath for convenience etc be consistant with my belief.? No,other denominations do not believe as we do. While I may visit out of curiosity or an invitation it does not replace The SDA denomination has distinctive beliefs ,not any old day is good enough for the Lord. Attending another denomination on Sat or Sunday on a regular basis that preach contrary to what we believe is not part of keeping the Sabbath. I say that because a number of Sumday keeping churches do just that. It is. OT uncommon for Catholic Churches to hold mass on Saturday and some of the mega-churches hold multiple services throughout the weekend including on Saturday just to accommodate the number who attend. I would be willing to bet that in some of those the attendance on Saturday is more than the total number of Adventists attending services in the area or even that live in the vicinity. So? There isn't any mistaking,the Catholic chruch holds mass on sat night.Not a generic get together. Sheer numbers a sign of success. Your post was more informative than I think you intended
