Fort McMurray on Fire

Many insurances would cover... As A child, we lost our house to fire when i was 4. I remember that so well to this day. The community rallied together, I received a bunch of broken toys etc, I threw them away. It was just an excuse to clear out there junk. I do not give junk to people in need.2 points -

My favorite is carbonized garlic toast. Nothing like a burst of garlic with an ash finish. And it only takes 30 seconds longer to make than regular garlic toast. Right after that in flamed marshmallows. When you don't pay attention while roasting marshmallows, they catch fire. Eating them is well - I don't like them; but that's just me.2 points -

I've never tried fried or burnt Stipples, but I have done that to Stripples and put them in an English muffin along with a fried egg. Although, I have on more than one occasion made burnt cheese sandwiches which the smoke detectors didn't like. Nothing quite like the taste of carbon and cheese.2 points -

The Lie Many Honestly Believed As Truth
Kevin(wrx) reacted to Samie for a topic
What is it? It is the lie that people are born spiritually dead in sin. If indeed people are born spiritually dead in sin, then they are born NOT in Christ, because Christ is our life (Col 3:4). And to be NOT in Christ is to be apart from Christ. And apart from Christ, man can do NOTHING (John 15:5): he cannot place his faith in Christ; he cannot accept His gift of salvation; he cannot repent and overcome evil with good. IOW, he is doomed. But Scriptures teach otherwise. Adam could have, by his own death that day he sinned, paid the penalty for his sin, but that would be his eternal end. He could have paid for his sin God hates, but God would have eternally lost the sinner He loves. So right on that same day Adam fell into sin, God implemented the plan of redemption He devised before the foundation of the world (2 Tim 1:8-10). God's plan made it possible for man to not only pay for the penalty of his own sin, but also at the same time, give him another shot at eternal life. That plan found fulfillment in the life, death and resurrection of our Lord. No wonder Christ is called the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world!!! Rev 13:8 God through Christ fashioned humanity into the Body of Christ on the cross thereby creating the One New Man: Christ the Head, humanity (Jews and Gentiles) the Body (Eph 2:11-19). When the Head died, the Body died with Him (2 Cor 5:14, 15; Heb 2:9); when the Head resurrected, the Body was made alive TOGETHER with Him (Eph 2: 4-6; Col 2:13), born again into a living hope of life eternal (1 Pet 1:3). Now that people are alive, God commands all to repent (Acts 17:30) and given faith (Rom 12:3) so they can please God (Heb 11:6) and gain victory over the world (1 John 5:4), they have His Power (Phil 4:13) to overcome evil with good (Rom 12:21). Overcomers will NOT be blotted out from the book of life (Rev 3:5) and will be seated with Christ on His throne, Who Himself is an overcomer. KJV Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Scriptures warn against persistence in believing a lie. NKJ 2 Thessalonians 2:10-11 . . . because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie Knowing the truth yet persisting to believe a lie is siding with the father of lies. California legislation seeks to prevent LGBT discrimination in higher education
Kevin(wrx) reacted to bonnie for a topic
AB 1888 (Low), as amended May 2, 2016, would condition state grant money on the promise that institutions will not subject applicants, students, or employees to discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, or any other characteristic that is "contained in the prohibition of hate crimes" in Section 422.6(a) of the California Penal Code. Further, these institutions will have to certify that they will not apply for or receive a waiver from the U.S. Department of Education from federal non-discrimination regulations under Title IX. Institutions that do have a Title IX waiver would need to relinquish it by the beginning of the 2017-18 academic year. Will it now be considered hate speech to follow our understanding of the bible and declare this to be wrong? It May not pass the first time but it will be brought back again and again until it does. Inch by inch So what is the problem with this bill? As has been determined by many, here included the gay/lesbian lifestyle 1. Is not contagious 2. Does not impact anyone's traditional marriage 3.If you don't want a same sex marriage, simply don't have one 4.Any that have been opposed to the LGBT lifestyle are homophobic hateful bigots 5 God loves those of this lifestyle as much as anyone else 6.It is no worse and at times not as bad as other sins. 7. Many religious groups have come out in support, even many SDA's as this is only fair and right. 8.Is it even really wrong? Some SDA's are not even sure so how can we stand against something until the biblical scholars have spoken?1 point -

California legislation seeks to prevent LGBT discrimination in higher education
Kevin(wrx) reacted to Aliensanctuary for a topic
Ultimately, Christians will be required to post prominent yellow crosses on their homes and businesses, and, wear yellow crosses on their clothing. This would be done to protect the LGBT's from the so-called "vile hatred" of said Christians. Following that identification process comes the jailings, the hangings, and the beheadings of Christians, which would be considered neither hatred nor discrimination. There's nothing more insidious than good-hearted, respectable church-going people who refuse to bow the knee and embrace and promote a lifestyle that their Creator forbids. In the end, the LORD will look down upon the Earth and see that it is Sodom and Gomorrah. We all know how that story ended. Muslims, of course, will be exempt from the laws banning "discrimination" by religions. They will be the guillotine operators. Once religious institutions are no longer allowed to choose their employees based on their beliefs, there will no longer be a purpose for their existence, and they will either submit to the gay agenda or go away. The loss of higher Christian education will only result in increased crime and speed up the demise of this country by narrowing the Christian base and lifestyle. Without Christians, this country will be in serious trouble.1 point -

Why I quit tithing
aka reacted to Restin for a topic
Instead of tithing to the GC, I spend lots of money on DVD blanks, copier paper, printer toner, address labels, etc. This is for a mass mailing of the Three Angel's Message to whole zip codes around the USA. And some members of the church would rather help me with this where they know exactly how their money will be spent: for direct literature evangelism rather than air-condition bills for huge SDA church buildings, etc. I've been told this is wrong, just to send tithe & offerings to the GC and leave it up to God. I can't decide, so I go ahead and help with the mailings.1 point -
