    2nd order differential equation...anyone?

Robert: The question as to what we should teach our children has been debated for many years. Dr. A. T. Benjamin, of Harvey Mudd college has specialized in teaching people how to do math problems, in their heads, and almost instantly. As part of his teaching, he teaches his students how to do Vedic Mathematics. E.G. He might ask a student to divide 932,498 by 83. The properly trained student would quickly come to the correct answer of 11,234 with a remainder of 76. But, Robert, does the fact that we have probably not taught our students Vedic Division and thererfore they are unable to calculate the above answer in their heads make them any less able to function in the world in which we live? I would not want to judge the effectiveness of our math courses by whether or not could quickly calculate the above problem in their head.

    Havaii

As Moishe and his wife, Miriam, were planning a vacation, they ended up in an argument, "It's 'Hawaii', I'm telling you!" Miriam said. "I never KNEW someone so stubborn! 'Havaii' is how it's pronounced!" he replied. And so it went all the way to the vacation... As they got off the airplane, they passed a man. Moishe abruptly stopped his wife and turned to the man to ask, "Now that we're on the island, you can settle an argument between my wife and me. Is this 'Hawaii' or 'Havaii'?" "This is Havaii," the man replied. "Ha!" Moishe gloated to Miriam. "See, didn't I tell you never to argue with me?" As they began to walk away, Moishe turned back and gave the man a hearty, "Thank you!" "You're velcome!" he called back.

A New Thought on the Restroom Battle

She is a biological female who is NOT transgender. She does not attempt to pass as a male. Her desire is to be recognized for what she is, a female. Yet throughout her life the restroom police have often asked her to leave. Is There A Need To Reconsider the AoD?

I've been trying to find every reference to "the little horn" (Daniel 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 - and Revelation) The LH is the one who will "take away the daily". "The daily" or "continual" was the morning and evening continual burnt offering. THAT requires a Temple, and animal sacrifices. If you read carefully through Daniel 7: 9-27, the heavenly "court" will take away the dominion OF the "little horn". He is the guy who will be ruling the world and persecuting the saints - right up to the time that judgment comes down from the "court" giving dominion to Christ. That's the 7th trumpet!!! Heaven is rejoicing BECAUSE Christ now has dominion. "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ" (Rev. 11:15). I am NOT SAYING who the "little horn" is. Though I'm not at all convinced that the Papacy will be that "little horn". Daniel 7:23-26 The 4th terrible beast will rule the WHOLE EARTH. (Pagan Rome did NOT rule the "whole earth".) 10 horns arise from the 4th terrible beast, THEN the "little horn" pulls up 3, and takes over the world. The "little horn" IS the 8th king. The LH "exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host, and by him the daily was taken away, and the Temple was cast down." Dan 8:17 says "the vision refers to the time of the END", and v.19 the "latter time of the indignation". The LH is the "prince to come" of Daniel 9:26. The "prince to come" "will bring an end to sacrifice and offering". THAT would include the "daily" sacrifices. The LH is the "one who makes desolate" (9:27). He is "the desolator". Because of Numbers 24:24, many believe he will be an Amalakite (an Arab descended from Esau). Daniel 11:29-45 is speaking of the LH. v.31 His forces take away the daily v.36 He will magnify himself above EVERY GOD. He speaks blasphemy against the God of Heaven. He will not "regard" any god. "He shall magnify himself above them all." His takeover of the Temple, and persecution of the "holy people" will last 1260 days.

Is There A Need To Reconsider the AoD?

The "wailing wall" has been shown to be part of Herod the Great's expansion of the Temple grounds. It is OUTSIDE of the original Temple Court built by Solomon. Jews wailing at the wall, are NOT standing on "holy ground". The Temple WAS itself completely destroyed! That said, I believe that Jesus was speaking of the upcoming destruction (70AD) AND the future destruction of a future rebuilt Temple - the one in which "the son of perdition" will sit "showing himself that he is God." 2Thessalonians 2:3-4 “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” NOTE: The only person who was allowed to sit in the Temple courtyard was the anointed King - from the line of David (2Sam. 7:18; 2Chron. 17:16). This alone should tell you who the “son of perdition” is pretending to be. He will make fire come down from heaven (Rev. 13:13). This was the sign of the LORD’s presence for ancient Israel (Lev. 9:24, Num. 16:35, I Ki. 18:38, 2Chron 7:1). The “fire” consumed the sacrifice on the alter in the court of the Temple. This scenario requires a Temple, and the restoration of animal sacrifices. This NEXT Temple will also be completely destroyed - with no stone remaining upon another. I don't understand the resistance to believing that another Temple will be built.

    2nd order differential equation...anyone?

Robert, I don't think anyone here except for maybe Bravus can do this...not anymore, anyway. Lots of us may have learned in the past, but we don't use it on a regular basis, so it's "not fresh".

Is There A Need To Reconsider the AoD?

God has promised that after all is resolved, that He "will remember our sins no more". The verse does NOT SAY that the moment Jesus dies, God will suddenly not remember the sins of any human being who ever lived, or ever would live. Not saying that...

Is There A Need To Reconsider the AoD?

Do a little research into what happened to Jerusalem during the siege & subsequent destruction. See if that was not a great tribulation. Furthermore, there is more than one tribulation mentioned in scripture Also remember that when Jeaus answered the disciples' 2-fold question, He made no distinction between the signs of the end of the world and the destruction.

    Was God responsible?

We are such a small planet and there must be a million other worlds as large or larger than ours full of faithful, believing, loving righteous beings. So why do we think our problem is so huge that God would deny us a life. I have thought of this a lot and believe if our world didn't follow the evil one, then He would have had to make another until one of them did so He can finally show the dire results of disobedience and eliminate all the demons for ever.

A New Thought on the Restroom Battle

Yep. Wanna know why we have so many gender "confused" people these days? It's because too many people judge, judge, judge other people based on looks...enough is enough. The judging has got to stop. Period. If you're doing it, knock it off--every comment, snicker, raised eyebrow and side-ways glance is hurting another human being.

Is There A Need To Reconsider the AoD?

If the "transgression of desolation" (Dan. 8:13) is the SAME AS the "abomination of desolation" (Matt 24:15, Dan 11:31, Dan 12:11), THEN I have a possible interpretation concerning the 70-sevens of Daniel Chapter 9. Here are the things to be accomplished by the END of the seventy-sevens: Acceptable alternate translation words are in parentheses. 1. To finish (consume) the transgression [of desolation?] 2. To make an end of sins [Sins were finally placed on the head of the scapegoat, on Yom Kippur.] 3. To make reconciliation (atonement) for iniquity [Final atonement for the congregation was made on Yom Kippur.] 4. To bring in everlasting righteousness (or justice) [The heavenly "court" of Daniel 7 will hand down final justice. Dominion will be given to Jesus Christ.] 5. To seal up vision and prophecy 6. To anoint the Most Holy [The Most Holy was anointed on Yom Kippur by the High Priest.] #2, #3, and #6 can definitely be tied to Yom Kippur. I believe the 70-sevens will END at the FINAL fulfillment of Yom Kippur - at the END of this age.

Is There A Need To Reconsider the AoD?

In the context of "last days" prophecy, is the "transgression of desolation" the SAME AS the "abomination of desolation"? I say "last days" because the Angel Gabriel said to Daniel, "Understand son of man, that the vision refers to the time of the end." . . . "I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation, for at the appointed time, the end shall be." Daniel 8:13 “Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who was speaking, ‘How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled under foot?’” So what desolation does this transgression or abomination bring? I would say - the 7 last plagues. Every person on the planet (except those sealed of God) will worship "the Beast and his image". THAT is what will bring on the desolation. These people will be "cut off" from God, on the final Day of Atonement.

Is There A Need To Reconsider the AoD?

Is it possible the "abomination bringing desolation" prophecy by Jesus, COULD have more than one fulfillment? The Romans plowed Jerusalem "like a field". The Emperor Hadrian turned the Temple Mount into a Roman temple of Jupiter. THAT was setting up an idol in a "holy" place. So that would be a fulfillment. The Muslims also set up a shrine to worship their god Allah - albeit without an image. That said, the "abomination of desolation" does FIT right in with other "last days" prophecy from Daniel and Revelation. I can agree with Samie that the image of/to the Beast will be the LAST fulfillment of that prophecy. NOTE: I do NOT agree that scapegoat of Yom Kippur represented Jesus. Jesus bore our sins, and carried our sins. He will carry them UNTIL they are transferred to the "head of the scapegoat" when the heavenly court (described in Daniel 7) hands down its verdict. Dominion will be taken from Satan, and given to Christ, who will then EXECUTE the judgment of the "court". After this judgment is executed, the earth will be left "without form and void" (Jeremiah 4:23, Isa. 34:11). In the Septuagint the Greek word “abussos” (Strong’s #12 - meaning bottomless or boundless) was used to translate the Hebrew “bohuw” (#0922 - meaning emptiness, void or waste). The same Greek word “abussos” is translated as “bottomless pit” in Revelation 20:1-2 of our English Bible. I definitely do NOT agree that death [the place where Jesus went] was "the uninhabited place". Everyone except Enoch, and Elijah went to Sheol. It was QUITE inhabited!

Is There A Need To Reconsider the AoD?

I found and read the lesson but I'm not in complete agreement with it. The AofD that Jesus was talking about in the Olivet is not the equivalent of the Luke 21 Jerusalem surrounded by armies. At this time I think that from the time that the AofD is set up, there will be 1290 literal days until the sun is darkened and the moon will not give it's light. If we are in the count of the 1290 days, I'm sure everyone will be where they are supposed to be when "for then there will be great tribulation" begins. So I for one will stop worrying about it, for now.

    Bible verses forbidden...

Sad :(...Are the parents in support of your grandson or the school system? (You don't have to answer if it's private or if you don't want to.). I hope the boy is encouraged and strengthened by God to continue. May God bless him. Yeah...it does seem that way. We're getting there... We will never know until we get to Heaven just how the Lord has used these or how many lives He has touched through them. May God bless you as you continue to work in His strength, letting Him work through you. May God be praised and may God bless you.

    A Milestone?

I hope that it all worked itself out! My work computer is now Win10 and while it was working out the kinks I admit that it was able to do it itself, which was a nice surprise. I find that my machine boots up and shuts down much faster, too, and generally runs smoother.
