Small problem - the "Chittim" referred to in scripture is the modern Island of Cyprus - not Iran.. Is scripture, Iran is referred to as Persia. Chittim was the original home to Phoenicians; not Persians.2 points -
Sully - my Maltese - needs your prayers
Liz reacted to Robert for a topic
Sully is a male Maltese. He was a rescue puppy. Around two years of age he started having health problems. His first problem was thrombocytopenia. Then he had a growth on his eyelid removed. Then patella problems came along and now trachea issues. So far I have spend over $10k for his medical issues. He still needs patella and trachea surgeries. This alone will cost over $5k. Personally, I've had enough. I'm trying to get my finances in order because my wife and I are retiring within 4 years. I'm afraid if he can't be treated with medication that I'm going to have to have him euthanized. Any suggestions? Sully needs your prayers. Robert1 point -

Wow! I didn't see that coming! …11Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world's darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand.… Ephesians 3 God is Love!~Jesus saves!1 point -
Are the three Angels' Messages Dead or Alive?
LifeHiscost reacted to hch for a topic
The Bible does not say behold Nebuchadnezzar, but he has his p;ace in the three angels' messages and prophecy that get us started on the road to understanding Bible prophecy. Likewise the place of endtime popes and presidents give us insights into the events that are before us at the end of the journey. To understand the beginning of the journey and not to understand the ending is not really very helpful to those of us that are nearing the end of the journey.1 point -

Right or Left?
GayatfootofCross reacted to debbym for a topic
I believe the left and the right could well unite... against Christ. Neither are holy, neither can resist the designs and schemes of the enemy. Only by being controlled by the Holy Spirit can their be a resistance to evil in all it's myriad of forms. The Sanhedrin and the Pharisees were in constant conflict till they united against Christ.1 point -

IMHO, the last events will be rapid ones, and the time(s) of our being without religious freedom will probably be (thankfully) short-lived. At least I hope and pray this is so. Nevertheless, our personal closeness with Christ in a true relationship of faith and trust, is ultimately what will carry us through. He is our only hope and salvation.1 point -

Working in a hospital I have seen that some clinical procedures, in specific cases, do not provide a benefit that is worth the cost to a patient. Death is a part of our human existence. Life involves quality more than quantity. We once had an Airdale who had survived including heat stroke and been restored to health, after a period of time. One Sabbath day he lost his ability to breathe properly. We rushed him to the ED for dogs. After examination, the Vet told us that the next step in the examination would have to be to open up our dogs chest. NOTE: The dog had been placed in a coma and was on oxygen. I informed the vet that I worked in a hospital and I would not allow her to open up my dog's chest unless she could assure me that such could resolve the issue. I was immediately informed that that assurance could not be given. And that there was a real possibility that she would have to simply close the dog's chest up again. I told her: "No Way. I will not allow you to do that to my dog." So, the decision was made to put the dog out of his misery and send him off into a final sleep. And that was done. Enough was enough for the poor animal.1 point -

Trivia Quiz?

Answer: All video games have a rating symbol printed prominently on the box cover. The ratings are based on guidelines created by The Entertainment Software Rating Board, which is self-regulatory body that independently assigns ratings to video games. The rating “E” printed on a video game represents “Everyone.” Games with an “E” rating are suitable for children older than 6 and may contain a minimal amount of cartoon violence and/or mild language.1 point -

I believe "Mobile!" Answer: M*A*S*H is an acronym for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. The television series M*A*S*H follows a team of doctors and support staff stationed at the "4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital" in Uijeongbu, South Korea, during the Korean War. The series premiered in the U.S. on September 17, 1972, and ended February 28, 1983, with the finale, "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen", becoming the most watched and highest rated single television episode in U.S. television history at the time, with a record-breaking 125 million viewers according to the New York Times.1 point -

Right or Left?
phkrause reacted to Gerr for a topic
The Left is less likely to be an immediate threat to religious freedom since they are actually for expanding freedoms (except perhaps when it comes to guns & Christian practices that are deemed discriminatory). But I can see where both would/could be instrumental in the eventual restriction of religious freedom as debbym opined.. The mounting crimes, corrupt politicians, and the perceived "anything goes" agenda of the Left will arouse people to demand some kind of moral revival which the Right will gladly support. The proposed Sunday Law was originally rejected by the EU, but now its proponents are pushing it as pro-family, good for the environment, and one day of rest will be beneficial for individual health & spirituality as well. These are or can be common grounds for both Right and Left.1 point -

Right or Left?
Kevin H reacted to Bravus for a topic
I think those are pretty far off topic, Robert. The question, as I understand it, is about which platform is more dangerous to religious freedom. If the threat is perceived as coming from a theocracy (or what is purported to be one: not rule by God, but rule by those with a particular faith), then I think the threat is from the Right. For example, the institution of required Sunday worship and the prohibition of Saturday worship is an example of this form of loss of religious freedom. If the threat is perceived as coming when secularism that esteems all religions (and none) as private matters flips over into the suppression of religion per se, then I think the threat is from the Left. For example, the notion that it is indoctrination to teach children about religion at Sabbath School and they should not be so taught until they make a decision as adults is an example of this form of less of religious freedom. Both have their dangers, but the dangers are different.1 point -

Nothing worth doing is completed in our lifetime, Therefore, we are saved by hope. Nothing true or beautiful or good makes complete sense in any immediate context of history; Therefore, we are saved by faith. Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone. Therefore, we are saved by love. No virtuous act is quite as virtuous from the standpoint of our friend or foe as from our own; Therefore, we are saved by the final form of love which is forgiveness. - Reinhold Niebuhr1 point -
