Where is Armaggedon
8thdaypriest reacted to JoeMo for a topic
Traditional Christianity places it in the Valley of Megiddo. But is that true? Many translations use the term "Armageddon, but many also use the term "Har Magedon". "Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon" (Rev. 16:16 NIV) "And they gathered them together into the place which is called in Hebrew Har-Magedon." (Rev. 16:16 ASV) The following is from http://www.prewrathrapture.com/A Big Problem - Where is Har Magedon.pdf (please ignore the "prewrath rapture" part of the heading; I'm not talking about rapture here): Let’s say that the Greek phrase Har-Magedon is derived from the Hebrew phrase Har Mô˓ēd. The critical word is Mô˓ēd. This masculine noun occurs 223 times in the Old Testament. The specific phrase Har Mô˓ēd is used once in the Old Testament in Isaiah 14:13. There Isaiah puts the words in the mouth of a pagan king who suggests his will is to raise his throne up to the mountain of assembly/meeting. Isaiah 14:13-14 state, You said to yourself, “I will climb up to the sky. Above the stars of El I will set up my throne. I will rule on the mountain of assembly [Har Mô˓ēd] on the remote slopes of Zaphon. I will climb up to the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High!” The mountain of assembly is scripture can only be in one place - Mount Zion; or the Temple Mount. It cannot be Megiddo; which is a flat plain; not a mountain. Daniel and Revelation tell us that that the antichrist/beast (who is possessed by satan the dragon) will set himself up as God in the Temple; which is in Jerusalem. The OT tells us in many places that the enemies of God will surround Jerusalem - not Megiddo - for the end-time battle. The end-time battle will be for control of Jerusalem - specifically for control of the "mount of assembly" or the "mount of the congregation". I am coming to believe that this is where Jesus and His armies will destroy His enemies.1 point -

Daniel 10:13, makes it clear that Michael's angels actually do battle with Satan's angels. These would be literal battles. They just take place in the spirit realm/dimension rather than the physical dimension. When the angel said to Daniel, "the prince of Persia withstood me 21 days" that "prince" was NOT a human. There may ALSO be a battle going on between human armies - at the same time.1 point -

I'm betting on revision. History shows us the people who do this will seldom if ever stop. They alter their position a little and then go right out and do the same thing all over again. And again, and again, and again.1 point -

Almost all of religion (in all religions) is mere fantasy. Not all of religion, of course, but almost all. Which is precisely why the people trapped in that sort of thinking cannot be reasoned with. It's fully obvious to everyone not trapped in it, but not to the one who is trapped.1 point -

Are the three Angels' Messages Dead or Alive?

Because the enemies of the gospel are constantly whispering insults and lies at individuals it only seems wise to me to be constantly reading the Word, that a person can not only know all of the Fathers' promises available for them but also will be able to identify without hesitation, the intrusive efforts to sidetrack the one(s) desiring the compassionate care of Jesus and His angel, as well as other members of the body of Christ who make themselves available for His purposes of mutual safety and security. It appears totally evident that the Holy Spirit is being withdrawn from our world, and many who are alive today will still be alive to witness the reality of Jesus' return. Praise God! …16Rejoice at all times. 17Pray without ceasing. 18Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.… 1 Thessalonians 5 …19And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. 20He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! 21The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints. Amen.… Revelation 20 God is Love!~Jesus saves!1 point -

LifeHiscost That is true. The word of God also states: Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." So when the light moves if God's people do not continue to stay close to Him and remain in the light, they will be left in darkness and be in danger of being destroyed.1 point -

4But you, brothers, are not in the darkness so that this day should overtake you like a thief. 5For you are all sons of the light and sons of the day; we do not belong to the night or to the darkness.… 1 Thessalonians 5 I'm satisfied that text is referring to those who have become friends with Jesus. Right or Left?

Both Republicans and Democrats are working to destroy the Constitution. There are so many Republicans joining hands with the socialists on the left and demanding greater spending, more government control, etc... that it is basically impossible to tell them apart when they take their political buttons off. Ellen White said that when the US stops with the pretence of following the Constitution that the end of probation isn't far away. We are very close to that now. All that is left of the Constitution is a pretence and the entire political left and the RINO's are rejoicing. Corruption so bad that even those who support those politicians admit that it has been taken to an "art form" is at the very center of all of this. Our founding fathers understood that an immoral nation could never retain its liberties, which is why they made God a central part of it. This myth that they were secularists is one of the biggest lies around. One of the greatest political thinkers of all time, a man who experienced the French revolution, agreed with them. He said, There is no liberty without morality, and no morality without faith. He was right on the money, and that is one of the biggest reasons the political lleft, the socialists, have been working to destroy Christian morality and faith in God. They are succeeding beyond their wildest dreams.1 point -

Desire of Ages, chapter 79 has relevant information. By a life of rebellion, Satan and all who unite with him place themselves so out of harmony with God that His very presence is to them a consuming fire. The glory of Him who is love will destroy them. {DA 764.1} At the beginning of the great controversy, the angels did not understand this. Had Satan and his host then been left to reap the full result of their sin, they would have perished; but it would not have been apparent to heavenly beings that this was the inevitable result of sin. A doubt of God's goodness would have remained in their minds as evil seed, to produce its deadly fruit of sin and woe. {DA 764.2} But not so when the great controversy shall be ended. Then, the plan of redemption having been completed, the character of God is revealed to all created intelligences. The precepts of His law are seen to be perfect and immutable. Then sin has made manifest its nature, Satan his character. Then the extermination of sin will vindicate God's love and establish His honor before a universe of beings who delight to do His will, and in whose heart is His law. {DA 764.3}1 point -

I believe the left and the right could well unite... against Christ. Neither are holy, neither can resist the designs and schemes of the enemy. Only by being controlled by the Holy Spirit can their be a resistance to evil in all it's myriad of forms. The Sanhedrin and the Pharisees were in constant conflict till they united against Christ.1 point -
