Surprised? I have been increasingly suspicious of what is put out there even by our government and our "free press" ever since the Gary Powers incident. It appears to me that the press is no longer satisfied with just reporting the news; they also now make or become part of the news. I look at research sponsored by companies who have much to gain with a wary eye.

Both candidates are flawed. Hillary, because she is so well versed in political correctness, double-speak, and only partial truthfulness. She reminds me of an aging Effie Trinket from "Hunger Games". Donald, because He is coarse, crass, sort of a bully a hypocrite, and an elitist as well as less than fully informed on many topics. While I'm in the "Never Hillary" club; I'm not a member of the "nobody but Donald" club either. At 66 years old, having voted in over 20 presidential elections, this is the most "undecided" I have ever been.

Is it your position that we must understand Bible prophecy in the way you interpret it? Why did God give us prophecy if he didn't want us to investigate it for ourselves, like the noble Bereans? Or are you the only "noble Berean"? Are you implying that Christians are closer to Christ only if they agree with your "out-of-the-box" interpretation of God's word?

Why do you even need to address the Sinai Covenant? I do not even use it in my "proofs" with Ratzlaff types. Even IF that Covenant IS "obsolete", (which we have debated on CA before) the LORD declared the 7th day "holy" (belonging to the LORD) at the end of creation week - LONG BEFORE the Sinai Covenant. He has never designated another day, or declared the 7th day no longer "holy". And Isaiah 66:22-23 puts the LORD's appointed times (including the rest of the 7th day) in the "new earth". And when they quote Paul, to say "we are not under the LAW", I tell them that the words mean that we are not under the condemnation of the law, or the curse which is pronounced upon those who BREAK the law. I ask them if they know where the "new covenant" is found, and what it includes. They never do.... So I quote Hebrews and Jeremiah. The "new covenant" clearly includes God's "LAW". Under the New Covenant, He will write His LAW on our hearts. Far from ditching the LAW, it will be miraculously internalized. So they cannot say there is no LAW involved. I actually went through these simple arguments with some baptist ladies at the second hand store, just recently. The son of one of the ladies is dating an SDA girl. Took me about 7 minutes. And I did not quote the 4th commandment of Exodus 20 - even once.

That's what I've found to be fascinating in listening/reading the arguments from people on both sides... but more so from the Clinton supporters. I can't think of any Trump supporter who claims that Trump is an ideal, paragon of virtue, whose bid for presidency is the dream of all patriotic Americans. Trump has a TON of faults and has pulled quite a few business shenanigans. OTOH, it's like pulling teeth to find a Clinton supporter who barely acknowledges Hillary's questionable motives and deeds. Good grief. They're both liars — one's just better at it than the other.

The Olympic committee went on with the Games, and subsequent attempts to establish a permanent Olympic memorial to the slain athletes have gone unanswered. Three of the terrorists were captured, but one month later, when Palestinians hijacked a German airplane, German authorities capitulated to their demands and released the Olympic terrorists. They were later eliminated by Israeli agents, the subject of Steven Spielberg's film, Munich.

The press has never been satisfied with just reporting the news. Press outlets have always existed either (a) to make money; (b) to promote their own ideas and/or the ideas of their sponsors; or (c) to make money while promoting their own ideas and/or the ideas of their sponsors. To paraphrase the wise old man: this is nothing new under the sun.

I guess my question would be is it primarily the lack of knowledge that would prevent a person from entrance to the heavenly abodes, or is it the deliberate turning away from that which one believes might open their eye to personal responsibility? What comes to my mind from the Word is this; Zechariah 7:11 “But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear. Acts 7:57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; God is Love!~Jesus saves!

And by the way, if he is such a great businessman, how is it that he has such bad luck with contractors doing shoddy work? With all his money you would think he could do a better job of picking and vetting contractors. How come other similar real estate developers have so much better luck with their contractors? The percentage of problems he has, based on the volume of litigation,many compared to everyone else, suggests it is not the contractors, but Trump that is the problem.

Many of the contractors that Trump stiffed, actually performed satisfactorily. Trump just insisted they be paid after they were done in the contract, and then forced a renegotiation of the price. Here is an example. The small family business music store had a contract to supply pianos to the Trump hotel/casino in Atlantic City. The price was $100,000 for delivery and tuning. Payment after delivery. No complaint about the pianos, delivery on time, tuning done correctly. Trump's company said they were low on cash and would pay only $70,000. The supplier could not afford to sue and they would not pay the rest. $30,000 was a large loss to the small businessman. What is $30,000 to a multi-billionaire? Pocket money. And he did it over and over to many who did work for him.

I agree with you that the Sabbath of the Old Testament remains valid. However, I think legalism is often in the eye of the beholder. You seem to be assuming that the only purpose of God's law was to show people how to earn salvation. I think you and I grew up in the SDA church in an era when the church taught us that kind of legalism. And you are correct to reject that kind of legalism, because it is not Biblical. However, not everyone views the law of God through the lens of legalism. When my children were born, my wife and I started teaching and training them in the ways of our family and we set out some rules. But the purpose of those rules was never to show the children how to earn a place in our family. They already have a place in the family, whether they want it or not, because they are born into the family. Imagine our frustration and disappointment if someone had taught our children that they had to follow our rules perfectly in order to become members of our family, and our children were convinced that they needed to do so. That seems to be what you are still teaching about God's rules. Often you seem to be projecting your past legalism onto others who may not be infected with legalism at all. Can you really know what motivates a person to follow the law of God or the "law of Christ"? One person may do it for legalistic reasons thinking they must earn their position before God. But another person may do the exact same behaviors because they already know they are saved and they are motivated totally by love for their God and Redeemer and they simply don't want to do anything other than what Jesus did. Legalism is a valid stage of moral development. Although you have grown beyond legalism yourself, it often seems that you try to lock others into that legalism stage, without realizing that others are capable of growing beyond legalism without following the same path you followed and without rejecting God's law as a reliable guide to knowing the character of God and living righteously as Jesus did.
