GC to take over Unions that Ordain Women!
Christopher and 2 others reacted to CyberGuy for a topic
spectrum may be a liberal magazine but we would not have learned of this plot by the GC to disband the unions who do not fall into line with Ted Wilsons line from any church news network. Adventist News Network would not have told us. Neither would we learn of this on Hope channel or 3ABN or any of the official channels of the church.3 points -

http://spectrummagazine.org/article/2016/09/29/breaking-general-conference-leadership-considers-takeover-unions-ordain-women But Jesus called the disciplesand said, “You know that the rulers of the unbelievers lord it over them and their superiors act like tyrants over them. That’s not the way it should be among you. Instead, whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave. That’s the way it is with the Son of Man. He did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many people.” Matt 20:25-282 points -
the "Bizarre Debate"
GayatfootofCross and one other reacted to Tom Wetmore for a topic
Misrepresenting and twisting my statements... Really not worth dissecting for any response... Personalizing too much, really! Not all about you. There is such a thing of relevancy and weighing the evidence... It reall is deeper than simply not questioning Trump's badness. iIt seems obvious that in the Trump supporter world, no matter how serious, immoral, bad, corrupt, it just does not matter. Truly bad is seen as good. His worst characteristics are reframed as strengths and virtues. Even his lack of qualification, public service experience, just strengthens his credibility as the champion outsider who will supposedly change everything. In that regard, what is good is seen as bad. And this is not what is happening with regard to Hillary. In fact, just the opposite. All it takes is a hiccup, or a cough, literally, and suddenly she is too unwell and old and weak to be president. Any flaw, no matter insignificant is added into the equation against her. And even her strengths, qualities, and valid and clearly positive experience and achievements are viewed negatively. For her bad is really bad, and good is even worse.2 points -

Going to be hard for the GC to enforce their will on the American churches. They should re read our history. Americans do not like Things forced on them. We revolted against King George. We will revolt against King Ted Wilson.2 points -

If You're On the Fence About Your Vote, This Pastor Clarifies How the Very Future of America Is At Stake
phkrause and one other reacted to lazarus for a topic
A lot of words but very shallow IMHO. His first point is probably the most critical for a pastor but skips over it. Buy my book he says, LOL! I've exchanged a few emails with him. He was also short on solid Biblical justification in that discussion too! IMHO this support of pastors for Trump is the clearest example of the continuing apostasy in the Christian church. What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter. Isaiah 5:202 points -
Balls of Fire, what, when and how?
LifeHiscost reacted to Reddogs for a topic
I was at Wednesday night prayer meeting and afterwards they showed us a video from 3ABN on what has been finally realeased from the White Estate on the balls of fire that will hit the cities, in this case what Ellen White said about Nashville specifically. Take a look... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciIg9X_f7kA Here is more on this.... "In our own time Ellen White was given a view of final, end-time events. Her most complete scenario is to be found in her book The Great Controversy, as we have noted in chapter 5.{GVEGW 124.3} But not all the important events are therein described. Two of her most interesting and significant visions (in view of our present-day knowledge of nuclear physics) are to be found in other works.{GVEGW 124.4} 1. On Friday night, July 1, 1904, at Nashville, Tennessee, Ellen White was given a view of apocalyptic doom. The next morning, toward the close of a sermon in the chapel of the Southern Publishing Association, she made a brief, if oblique, reference to it: “Last night a scene was presented before me. I may never feel free to reveal all of it, but I will reveal a little.” 2{GVEGW 124.5} Four months later, writing in the Review and Herald, she elaborated upon this “very impressive scene“:{GVEGW 124.6} “I saw an immense ball of fire falling among some beautiful mansions, causing their instant destruction. I heard someone say, ‘We knew that the judgments of God were coming upon the earth, but we did not know that they would come so soon.’ Others said, ‘You knew? Why then did you not tell us? We did not know.’ On every side I heard such words spoken.” 3{GVEGW 124.7} 2. Two years later, at Sanitarium [St. Helena], California, in the early-morning hours of Friday, August 24, 1906, she had a similar dream. Again she characterized it as “a very impressive scene” of “a terrible conflagration.” 4 In her diary that morning she wrote:{GVEGW 124.8} “In the night I was, I thought, in a room not in my own house. I was in a city, where I knew not, and I heard expression after expression. I rose up quickly in bed, and saw from my window large balls of fire. Jetting out were sparks, in the form of arrows, and buildings were being consumed, and in a very few minutes the entire block of buildings was falling and the screeching and mournful groans came distinctly to my ears. I cried out, in my raised position, to learn what was happening.... Then I awoke. But I could not tell{GVEGW 124.9} where I was, for I was in another place than home. I said, O Lord, where am I and what shall I do? It was as a voice that spoke, ‘Be not afraid. Nothing shall harm you.’{GVEGW 125.1} “I was instructed that destruction had gone forth upon cities. The word of the Lord will be fulfilled. Isaiah 29:19-24 was repeated. I dared not move, not knowing where I was. I cried unto the Lord, What does it mean? These representations of destruction were repeated. Where am I? [Said the Lord,] ‘In scenes I have represented that which will be; but warn My people to cease from putting their trust in men who are not obedient to My warnings and who despise My reproof, for the day of the Lord is right upon the world when evidence shall be made sure. Those who have followed the voices that would turn things upside down will themselves be turned where they cannot see, but will be as blind men.’{GVEGW 125.2}1 point -
Why the United States should not give up control of the Internet naming system
phkrause reacted to Stan for a topic
Congress has two more days to act to save free speech, but in a year when the Internet has been the biggest thorn in the side of both parties, my guess is that Congress will tragically let control of ICANN slide away. The world deserves the full range of First Amendment protections of freedom of speech, freedom of the press, free exercise of religion, and other freedoms that only the United States is constitutionally obligated to maintain. False Equivalency Explained...
JoeMo reacted to Tom Wetmore for a topic
Not so much a reflection on you personally. But it has become a meaningless point that get repeated endlessly. What candidate ever has been perfectly free of any flaws? Everyone has flaws. It would be just as meaningful to say in comparison that they are both human. A truth that goes without saying and really need not be repeated. Unless... Unless there is a qualifying statement that follows to explain the relative value and weighting of the flaws. And that is seldom done seriously. In the end the comparison still comes to a draw of indecision.1 point -

False Equivalency Explained...
Tom Wetmore reacted to Gregory Matthews for a topic
Bonnie asked, see below: I will respond from my background of personally having a security clearance and personally having to deal with classified documents. In regard to paper documents, there should be no misunderstanding. Such are clearly identified. There should be no excuse for misunderstanding their level of classification. As to the digital transmission of documents. I do not believe that it is as clear and I do believe that it is subject to misunderstanding. I believe that it would be very possible for someone to send HC a message that had NOT been classified, but contained classified information. This is exactly what is known to have happened. Some will say that HC should have known that such documents contained classified information. Such a statement reflects a lack of understanding of classified documents. Some 30 + years ago major news media was reporting on the ability of U.S. to photograph from high in the sky. While public knowledge, that information was classified. We who had access to that classified information could have been prosecuted of we made any statement as to the truth of what as being said by public media. Yes, if HC received digital copies of classified documents, their classification level would have been known to her. But, when others sent her messages that simply contained classified information she would not likely have known that some parts of the message contained classified material. It is also significant that some of the messages that she received were classified after she had received them.1 point -
