Just bought this, middle of last week. It's a Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS. The good old Bandit 1200 is at the shop being spruced up to sell... and I'm enjoying getting out there and running in the engine on the new machine. It's something I've earned with a particular teaching project on top of my normal job this year, so it's been a busy year, but I have to admit I'm enjoying the fruits. And yep, I'm being careful.

If we look at the context of Gal 3:7 we find that Paul is using Abraham as an example of a person who has the right kind of faith. Did Abraham's faith include belief in a person named "Jesus"? Apparently not, since the name of Messiah was not announced until the angel spoke to Mary some centuries later (and then the name was not actually "Jesus", which is a relatively recent invention, but was a Hebrew name related to the word for "salvation"). Abraham's faith included faith in God's promises which resulted in obedience to God's Instructions. Was Abraham's faith perfect? No. He faltered at times. Specifically Abraham had faith in God's promise of a redeemer, often referred to as "Messiah" (or "Christ" for those who prefer Greek). That faith of Abraham seems very similar to the faith I currently see among the Jewish people, who also have faith in God's promises which results in obedience. And many Jewish people are looking forward in faith to the coming of Messiah, just as Abraham did. The faith of religious Jews today is, in some aspects, more like the faith of Abraham than the faith of many Christians. The Jews believe that God remains faithful to his promises and covenants (as God says he does), while many Christians believe God has reneged on his promises and covenants to the Israelites (in spite of the fact that God specifically said he would remain faithful). The Jews believe that obedience is an important component of faith, while many Christians believe they are demonstrating faith by intentionally disobeying the parts of God's Word they have deemed to be "obsolete" (even though Messiah specifically taught otherwise). The vast majority of Jewish people today have never heard a truthful presentation about Jesus. Instead they have heard that Jesus rejected the Jews and hates Jews, and that Jesus did away with God's law. In short, what they have heard about Jesus is largely false, and they are correct in rejecting those false teachings about Jesus, and continuing to look for a Messiah that honors God's Word. Do you think Jesus authorized us to judge whether Jews and Israelites we have never met are broken off from Israel?

We of course don't know the future in this very thing. If the Ship sinks over this ( what ever side wins or loses ) ..it will primarily because the anti Jesus spirit of resentment,unforgiveness, and punitive and vengeance that will sit in the members. Not even mentioning the Anti Jesus lordship and dictating matters of Conscience. The denomination is at stake over this spirit. No one gets everything they want in church or life ..we all deal with disappointment. Our Church was built on disappointment Sorry bad joke. I grew up surrounded by church peeps saying no matter what happens - stay on the Boat! Stay on the Boat!!!!!! Don't leave the Church.! The denomination/dogma/theology doesn't save. Jesus is the Lifeboat here. And keeping His Spirit in how we look upon others who disagree with us! May the Joy of the LORD be your Strength! # The People who have His Spirit of meek and lowly have the GOD's Authority on Earth.

In Paul's metaphor of the olive tree of Israel in Romans 11, he says something that sounds very much like all the branches were not broken off. "But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree," (Romans 11:17)

I agree.... Barack Obama is terrific with kids! I think he genuinely really likes them. I've not seen much of HC with children, but she's probably a good grandma...

at least this op-ed didn't resort to name-calling and disrespecting all Republicans. I'm much more likely to give consideration to the above — though I wouldn't vote for someone just because she was a woman and knows how to change a diaper. That's ridiculous. But I agree, Hillary is smart and can run circles around Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and the current President, intellectually speaking.

Transparency... She wasn't trying to hide it. He has been evasive about his business holdings and taxes. She released her tax returns. He still hasn't. She hasn't been lying about her taxes. He still won't tell the whole truth about his taxes and business holdings here and overseas. See the difference? And how about the false equivalency... again? Comparison. One year vs. 18 or more years. Reduced some of her federal income taxes vs. all of his. She pays a substantial amount of federal income taxes most years. It looks like he doesn't pay any most years. Nobody said what he did was illegal. The tax system clearly does not treat everyone equally. The rich get richer, in part thanks to "yuge" tax benefits that only the wealthy and big corporations can take advantage of while all of us poor working smucks pay a dramatically higher proportion of our hard earned income in taxes than they do. And which of the two candidates has pledged to fix that? It sure isn't Donald. His tax proposal will provided increased benefits to the wealthy beyond what we see and give a pittance, if any tax break for the middle class. Hillary has pledged to give a significant tax break to the middle class and correct the ever increasing tax breaks for the wealthy, including herself, so that they actually have to contribute their fair share of taxes.

I was just enjoying the irony of the situation, I didn't put much thought into it as some of y'all did. I'm guessing it all went well, we didn't stay for the second service.

The left generally speaking is tolerant of everything, They are not likely to make any law to cause religions to take a stand like we believe. The right is supposed to be Bible believing and are most likely to take matters into their own hands and push their preferences. I predict D Trump will win the election and he will push against the citizens and immigrants he doesn't like and put laws into effect that will bring all the persecution that we are anticipating with dispatch. The end is NEAR

Is this teaching of Judaism found in Scripture, or is it just a man-made tradition? I have not yet found it in Scripture. There are some passages in God's Law of Moses that seem to teach otherwise. Deuteronomy 31:10-12 Then Moses commanded them, saying, “At the end of every seven years, at the time of the year of remission of debts, at the Feast of Booths, when all Israel comes to appear before the LORD your God at the place which He will choose, you shall read this law in front of all Israel in their hearing. Assemble the people, the men and the women and children and the alien who is in your town, so that they may hear and learn and fear the LORD your God, and be careful to observe all the words of this law. How did the mixed multitude of Gentiles that came out of Egypt with Moses avoid standing at Mt. Sinai and entering into the covenant?

I've never been a "fan" of anyone's, except Jesus!!!!! That's exactly what EGW says to do!!!!! So that leads me to believe you've never read her writings, because she says that over and over in her writings. I'd like to see the statement of hers where she states that her writings are above the Bible's!!!!! Than you've never talked face to face with M Findley, S Boonstra, D Nelson, S Bohr, or any Jewish/SDA pastors like DB, S Wohlberg, Dr JM Hoffman, Herb Silver, etc., etc.!! I could go on but I think those names will do!! Just to let you know I'm not trying to be critical of you, I enjoy your posts and for the most part agree with them.

The law of God is self sacrificing love/ self renouncing love. No more and no less. We may ask what this means so we have the two great principles; to love God supremely and our neighbor as ourselves. How do we do this? we get the 10 commandments. In the Exodus 20 version breaks into 3 thirds: The first third is 3 commandments telling us how to love God supremely. The last third is 6 commandments telling us how to love our neighbor as ourselves. The middle third is one commandment that tells us that the only way we can love God supremely and our neighbor as ourselves is by resting in a relationship with God. (the three thirds also corresponds to the 3 aspects of the trinity). The foundation of Seventh-day Adventism is that the law is the reflection of God's character. It is a reflection of his very nature. The foundation of sin is that God is a tyrant in imposing upon others a law that does not apply to himself. That the law is outside of him and that he is simply arbitrary that we all submit to him and to each other while he is alone at the top. God is the only self existent one and life only comes from him so we need to submit to him for life. However with in the trinity the law of self sacrificing love/self renouncing love is practiced. For the trinity their neighbors are the other members of the trinity. They all submit to each other and thus live in a righteousness by faith relationship with each other. Each relates to the other as the other is their head. God is NOT the papacy which is how Satan likes to picture the role of God and the rest of us. This new teaching "Headship Theology" is simply Roman Catholicism filtered through Calvinistic philosophy. Seventh-day Adventism is more Methodist, not Calvinistic. If headship theology is true then Mrs. White's thought is not true. We have no reason for being Seventh-day Adventists. Satan wins the great controversy and the Sabbath becomes nothing more than an arbitrary imposition.
