Well . . . John F Kennedy certainly slept with many women (even while his wife was pregnant) and he has been elevated to icon status. The dems use the morality charge only when it suits them, against repub rivals. (Not that I ever heard JFK assaulted any women) The two candidates reveal the heart of this nation. One is smug and secretive. She applies a different standard for herself, than she expects every one else to maintain. The other is a lech and showman. Always looking for a higher mountain to climb, he has decided the presidency of the US is THE highest mountain. God always gives a people the rulers who reflect their own hearts. Woe is coming to the US - and soon.2 points -

I'm gonna vote for Trump, and hope Pence will be POTUS in 4 years. The Baptist preacher (can't remember his name) who talked extensively with Trump, said that he was newly "converted". When I remember what I was like before I met Jesus, it makes me cringe. Does anyone know how Dr. Carson feels about all this? I think trump is likely to make him Surgeon General. That's worth voting for.1 point -

Hmmmmm - and then there's King David. Guilty of kidnapping, rape, and murder. Multiple wives - and concubines too. I see the LORD honoring Bathsheba, by making her son the next king of Israel. But her son allows his pagan "wives" to bring their idols right into the heart of Jerusalem. . . . Rulers lacking a true heart to follow the LORD, is nothing new. Personally, I like Gov. Pence.1 point -

Really!?!? What mystery? Are you just now seeing my outrage and strong opposition to Trump such that you think it a sudden change toward the high moral ground?!?! From the very first of him declaring he was running for president, I have been rather openly pointing these things out, and much more just as bad, although of a quite different order. I have never seen him as qualified in any way to be president. And I have not hidden my contempt for him as a candidate. I think quite some time ago I said that if the the Democrats nominated an orangutan, I would vote for it before I would vote for Trump. And I have posted many things against him repeatedly, and often with moral disgust, not just for what he says about, no, brags about, what he does to women, but his morally, ethically, and arguably legal questionable, slimy cheating business practices. Cheating on his wife, rather openly in fact. And then there is the morally indefensible lack of truthfulness. I would not do business with him nor trust him any farther than I could toss him. And then there is that whole tax thing. Not his legally allowable, although shocking in magnitude, NOL carry forward. It is his violation of the laws pertaining to his private foundation. It is his untruthfulness and lack of transparency about his personal tax/finances. His whole demeanor, impulsiveness, and bombastic rudeness, and mean spirited vengeful obsessions about anyone who has spoken ill of him or crossed him that demonstrates a temperament that he is unfit to be president. And there is still more...1 point -

Do You Misportray God?
GayatfootofCross reacted to Samie for a topic
Majority of Christian Preachers Misportray God. How? Thru the teaching that people are born in sin instead of in Christ. If people are born in sin, then God did not save Adam that day he fell into sin. Instead, He just folded His hands and did NOTHING that same day to save his child from drowning in sin. Not a nice picture of our loving Father, is it? A good earthly father, upon seeing his child fall into the water, will do all in his power, even at the peril of his own life, to save his child from drowning, will he not? If an earthly father will, why would our heavenly Father not? I believe that God, through Christ, saved Adam that same day he fell into sin, and reinstated him to his pre-fall status, an act that cost God His only begotten Son, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. With Adam in Christ, all his descendants are born in Christ, instead of born in sin. Did Christ teach that people start out in life NOT lost? In Luke 15, Jesus discussed the parables of the lost sheep, lost coin, and the lost son. Notice: 1. Before the sheep was lost, it was with its shepherd. vv4 – 7 2. Before the coin was lost, it was with its owner. vv8 – 10 3. Before the son was lost, he was with his father. vv11 – 24 The lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son, did not start out lost. So with us sinners. Before we got lost we were initially with God. We were born NOT lost. And to be NOT lost is to be in Christ. Therefore, we were born in Christ, instead of born in sin. If you still teach that people are born in sin, then you are not only misportraying God but also teaching against what Christ taught that the lost sheep, lost coin and lost son did not start out lost. Will you now portray a true picture of our loving Father, teach what Christ taught, and preach what he preached? Your choice…1 point -
Baby Sister

Little Moishe Epstein was used to being the center of attention, so understandably he was a little more than jealous of his new baby sister Rivka. Moishe’s parents sat him down and said that now that Rivkah was getting older, the house was too small and they'd have to move. "It's no use," Moishe said. "She's crawling now. She’ll probably just follow us."1 point -

It really would be interesting to know exactly what Trump would have to do or say to convince some here who seem to continue to speak in his defense to just stop defending him in any way whatsoever. Some continue to now firmly acknowledge him to be filthy mouthed perv, but seem unable to say simply, "That is enough. That is where I will no longer say anything more in his support or defense." No more still holding on to the apparent hesitation of whether to they might vote for him anyway. No more latching on to his "defense" of "Well Bill was just as bad or worse." No matter how bad Bill Clinton or anyone else for that matter, might have been, that does not absolve Trump for what he did or said. It is a very juvenile "defense". It is just a diversion, a lame attempt to change the subject. I think Trump may have been correct (for a change) when he said he could shoot a person in the middle of 5th Avenue and his base would not abandon him. He is continually confirming the truth of that.1 point -

I really appreciate the fact that Bravus has come forward and stated he holds all to the same standard. Irrelevant that he does not believe in the deviant sexual behavior of Bill Clinton .I believe that if he did believe it he would share the same view on this topic concerning the Clintons Now are you able to answer, are all to be held to the same standard?Do you believe that what eliminates one from qualifying for the president is the same standard you use or have used for all in the same position. Do you believe that a vulgar potty mouth concerning women is more serious than vulgar actions with women? Do you believe trashing women victims and calling them liar, trailer trash and looney toon is abuse? If you or anyone could be so kind as to explain when you think vulgar words, vulgar actions and lying is acceptable or should be overlooked I would be more than happy to give you the last word.1 point -

"Some saying they would not want Trump around their daughters was worthy of being posted as a reason to be opposed to Trump." You might want to re-read. What I *actually* said was that saying "I have daughters" is a *terrible* reason for opposing Trump, because it implies that if you didn't have daughters and it was only other people's daughters he was groping that would be OK. I said that *as a human being* who regards everyone's right to not be assaulted as a given I oppose Trump when he advocates and admits to sexual assault. And yes, *if* Bill Clinton was guilty of the same thing, my judgement on that would be identical. I'm not convinced he was. There have been tens of millions of dollars spent trying to prove he was with no success.1 point -

[Shaking my head.] I am uncertain as to why my name has been taken in vain. Yes, I do limit my comments, both as to subject and as to people. On some subjects I simply have little to no interest. Have a good day, Bonnie.1 point -

GC to take over Unions that Ordain Women!
pierrepaul reacted to Kevin H for a topic
Let me use this as an illustration about the current situation of the argument. Lets say we have a group of Christians who love the Bible. Church tradition says that when people die they either go to heaven or hell. These Bible loving Christians have the text from Paul about being absent from the body is being present with the Lord. They have the words of Jesus saying to the thief on the cross "Verily I say unto you today, you shall be with me in paradise" and they have the story of the rich man and Lazarus. Thus they assume that the Bible teaches that you go to heaven or hell at death. They then hear atheists say "The Bible teaches that you go to heaven or hell when you die, But this is just a stupid pie in the sky idea of ignorant ancient men who did not know science and trying to explain from superstition. There is no heaven, there is no hell. We only have this life here and then we cease to exist after we die so just make the most of your life here, get what you can and do what feels good to you and look out for numeral Uno." Now some people studying the Bible starts to notice some problems with the idea of people going to heaven or hell right at death, they are starting to see that the Bible teaches death and resurrection and start to suggest that maybe we should give up the idea that people go to heaven or hell at death. So the Christians in our group who love the Bible now say "Ok, let's study this out" and they look I church history and find one theologian after another who believe that the Bible teaches that you go to heaven or hell at death, and they find atheists denying heaven and hell. And they have Paul talking about being absent from the body and being present with the Lord, and the text "Verily I say to you today, you shall be with me in paradise" and the story of the rich man and Lazarus. They study this again and find many Christians in church history believing that people go to heaven or hell when they die, many atheists who deny people going to heaven or hell when they die saying that the Bible is just nonsense, and untrue" and the Bible having Paul talking about being absent from the body and being present with the Lord, and the text "Verily I say unto you today, you shall be with me in paradise." and the story of the rich man and Lazarus. They study it over and over again and return to the same points. Many Christians over history believed that people go to heaven or hell at death. Atheists who believe the Bible is nonsense and that people don't go to heaven or hell when they die, and have the Bible passages where Paul talks about being absent from the body and being present with the Lord, read "Verily I say unto you today, you shall be with me in paradise" and the story of the rich man and Lazarus. Thus the group of Christians say "These people here who are trying to tell us that people don't go to heaven or hell at death are going against the Bible and are following what the atheists are teaching, if we let these people be members of our church they will destroy the Bible and we will no longer be a Bible believing church but we will become atheists. " and they demand that their members don't even question the idea that when you die you go to heaven or hell and that if anyone questions this point they must be severely punished. From this illustration you can see how they have studied the topic ad nauseam, but this is the type of study and thinking that has been done on the topic of women's ordination in our church, especially as from the perspective of those who are opposed to women's ordination. Elder A. G. Daniels wanted to postpone women's ordination a short time to first educate our members about the information that they are not seeing in their thoughts on the topic in the past. Elder Wilson wants the church to embrace this ignorance that Elder Daniels wanted to push out with education. I hope this illustration helps make it clearer as to what is going on.1 point -

One difference from most other sex scandals is that those are consensual affairs, Trump was talking about sexual assault of people against their will. As I saw it said on Twitter: "Don't judge me by what I did 10 years ago, but definitely judge Hillary by what her husband did 20 years ago". Bill Clinton is not running for office. As I also saw it said, though: "Apparently you can say whatever you like about Muslims and Mexicans, but when you start on white women it's all over". Trump's character has always been awful... I'm just pleased it has come out before the election, not after it. Oh, and by the way, lots of people are saying "As a father of daughters I'm appalled by Trump's comments". The heck with that: as a human being I'm appalled.1 point -

Abraham fathered a child by his servant, Moses murdered a man and covered it up, David was a man of violence, committed adultery and sent her husband to die on the battle field, which he did, Solomon had more wives than an Mormon man ever dreamed of, Saul/Paul rounded up Jewish followers of Christ for jailing and death, etc, etc etc. Makes one wonder if they would get in church doors today let alone get voted into any office of the land. We believe God is in control of all, yet we all wail and nash teeth in responce to what out politicians do or are claimed to have done. Makes me wonder if we sometimes get waaaaaaaayyyy to worked up about things of this life!1 point -
Senior moment at work tonight....
phkrause reacted to Kevin H for a topic
Tonight at work I was assigned to the Children and Adolescent unit. One of the patients asked if she could call her sister. We have a book that tells who the patients can call and their phone numbers. I dialed the number, the phone rang and only got the voicemail and I left a message. I then went to the patient and said "I'm sorry, your sister did not answer I only got her answering machine and left a message." The patient had a confused look on her face and asked what I meant by answering machine. It had to be explained to her that I got her voice mail and that there use to be a machine connected to phones that took the messages and that they were called answering machines. The girl was so excited and said "You mean they really had a machine by the phones that took the messages before they had voice mail? Wow, that must have been cool....1 point
