Major Earthquake Strikes Trump Campaign

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/10/11/politics/hillary-clinton-donald-trump-bill-clinton-accusers/index.html Worth a read. Also worth noting that the Starr investigation is clear that Monica Lewinsky set out to seduce Bill Clinton by, among other things, flashing her thong and flirting. She was 25. Infantilising grown women and making others responsible for their choices in not championing or protecting women. Bill Clinton clearly has been unfaithful to his wife many times. There is no solid evidence that any of these encounters were non-consensual. There is no solid evidence that Hillary intimidated any of these women. The differences in the level of 'moral outrage' are quite understandable in the context of the actual evidence (rather than febrile imaginings). Bill is not running for office. Hillary is... and she is a woman who has managed to make a marriage work for 41 years, despite her husband's failings as a husband. Her opponent is on his third marriage and has also spoken in the recently released (but 11 year old) tape of hitting on married women. The person who is actually running for office, then, Hillary Rodham Clinton, has protected and defended her marriage for 41 years... and that's something to celebrate and support, not something to damn.3 points -

And worth noting that he made those comments on the bus shortly after getting married to his current wife. Just wanted to affirm this. It seems a very Christian response to infidelity of a spouse, IMHO.1 point -

There was very little coverage at the time. But I do recall it wand was seriously disturbed by it. It was clear that Cheney and karl Rove were hiding something. Apparently you didn't read the Newsweek article... Read it BEFORE you comment on it.1 point -

And yet you keep right on obsessing about Bill, literally in the same breath, as a defense of Trump. Stick to this election. To the candidates who are in fact running. It is still the lame excuse, the non-defense of Trump that Bill was just as bad or worse. It still comes across the same as Trump's initial "apology" that included the "but Bill was worse" diversionary excuse. There are likely thousands of men just as bad or worse than Trump. But Trump is the only one of all the moral degenerates that is running for president right now... in this election. This is about him. And what he said and did. Stay focused...1 point -

Really!?!? What mystery? Are you just now seeing my outrage and strong opposition to Trump such that you think it a sudden change toward the high moral ground?!?! From the very first of him declaring he was running for president, I have been rather openly pointing these things out, and much more just as bad, although of a quite different order. I have never seen him as qualified in any way to be president. And I have not hidden my contempt for him as a candidate. I think quite some time ago I said that if the the Democrats nominated an orangutan, I would vote for it before I would vote for Trump. And I have posted many things against him repeatedly, and often with moral disgust, not just for what he says about, no, brags about, what he does to women, but his morally, ethically, and arguably legal questionable, slimy cheating business practices. Cheating on his wife, rather openly in fact. And then there is the morally indefensible lack of truthfulness. I would not do business with him nor trust him any farther than I could toss him. And then there is that whole tax thing. Not his legally allowable, although shocking in magnitude, NOL carry forward. It is his violation of the laws pertaining to his private foundation. It is his untruthfulness and lack of transparency about his personal tax/finances. His whole demeanor, impulsiveness, and bombastic rudeness, and mean spirited vengeful obsessions about anyone who has spoken ill of him or crossed him that demonstrates a temperament that he is unfit to be president. And there is still more...1 point -

Hebrews 7:12 - What change was necessary in law?

It's true. I never met the people you name. I think most of them weren't well known when I had access to the SDA enclaves, and the big names apparently don't venture into small-town Canada 8 hours beyond the US border. There was one administrator at college that spoke once about abusing EGW's writings. He might have known how to test EGW's writings by the Bible, but didn't share it publicly. I recall that I wasn't very receptive to what he said at the time. In those days, I don't think a person would have lasted long in an SDA position if he publicly stated that some passage of EGW's writings had been tested and was found to contradict the Bible. People had an "all or nothing" attitude toward EGW -- either everything she wrote was truth or she couldn't be a true prophet. It doesn't seem much different now in the local SDA church when I visit, except there are far fewer quotations of EGW shared publicly. When I flip through the monthly edition of Adventist Review that comes to my wife, I see pictures and articles by some of the people you name, but there isn't any apparent testing of EGW's writings by the Bible. The lay members in town here don't know how to test EGW by the Bible, and although my friend who is a regular SS teacher knew it was something that should be done, he didn't know how to put the idea into practice. Since I left the SDA church I have met some SDA feast-keepers online who do know how to test EGW's writings by the Bible. But people like that are not welcome in our local SDA Conference and are not allowed to hold any local church offices. Has there ever been a lesson in the Sabbath School Quarterly showing how to test passages of EGW's writings by the Bible, with examples of passages that pass the test, passages that are inconclusive, and passages that fail the test?1 point -

"Commemorate or "remember" are better terms than "observe" or "keep". I don't think strict observance (as described in the OT) ir required for salvation or anything; I think it is important to recognize the Day as an "appointed time". Thanks for the clarification.1 point
