Women do not die...... James White

Got love his logic “We object to that narrow-souled theology which will not allow the old ladies to have dreams because the prophecy says, ‘your old men shall dream dreams;’ and that will not allow young women to have visions because the prophecy says ‘your young men shall see visions.’ These stingy critics seem to forget that ‘man’ and ‘men’ in the Scriptures, generally mean both men and women. The Book says that it is ‘appointed unto men once to die.’ Don’t women die?” (James White, Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, February 25, 1862; Spiritual Gifts, vol. 3, p. 24). ANYONE else see where I am going with this?

What does it mean to be "under the law"?

Interesting post, Ron. I have been playing with the idea lately that the OT Hebrews (and others) did not fully understand the symbolism of the sacrificial system (i.e., they didn't "get" the concept of a suffering Messiah), in spite of prophecies in Isaiah 52 - 53 and Zechariah 11. We have the advantage of 20/20 hindsight; so we can see the symbolism between Christ and the sacrificial system. Satan himself may not have even understood the suffering Messiah prophecies, or he wouldn't have caused jesus to be crucified. "None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." (1 Cor. 2:8)

Are the three Angels' Messages Dead or Alive?

Martn said below: I have some differences with the statement below: 1) JW beginnings can be traced through Charles Taze Russell back to the Millerite Movement and some of the same people associated with the beginnings of the SDA denomination. But, I can not say that they actually have SDA roots. 2) Considered in depth, their view of the return of Christ in 1914 is substantially different from the SDA view of what happened in 1844. So, I cannot say that the two are the same spiritual event.
