I have been informed that a President can only be impeached for conduct while President and cannot be impeached for conduct prior to becoming President. So, if in the future Trump is found guilty in a criminal trial for conduct prior to becoming President, he could not be impeached for that. Interesting. Anyway, I always want to be corrected for anything that I have said that may be incorrect.

JoMo, I will suggest that in the future some ex-Presidents will be addresses as: Ms. (Mrs.) President.

One way hch could claim his "prophecy" is true: All ex-Presidents are addressed as "Mr. President" for the rest of their lives. When Obama is 90 years old (I hope time doesn't last that long), the world will still call him President Obama, even though he has been out of office for 40 years.

I am sketching out here opinions based on information, they may prove right, or may prove wrong, and they’re intended just to challenge and be part of a wider dialogue. My background is archaeology, so also history and anthropology. It leads me to look at big historical patterns. My theory is that most peoples’ perspective of history is limited to the experience communicated by their parents and grandparents, so 50–100 years. To go beyond that you have to read, study, and learn to untangle the propaganda that is inevitable in all telling of history. In a nutshell, at university I would fail a paper if I didn’t compare at least two, if not three opposing views on a topic. Taking one telling of events as gospel doesn’t wash in the comparative analytical method of research that forms the core of British academia. (I can’t speak for other systems, but they’re definitely not all alike in this way).

One point: Donald Trump will not be the President of the United States until the Electoral College meets and elects him to that position. In the United States the people do not directly elect the President. The Electoral College does that. As a matter of fact, Hillary Clinton probably got as much as 2,000,000 more popular votes than did Donald Trump. But, she lost the position due the fact that she failed to reach the required 270 delegates to the Electoral College, while Donald Trump exceeded that number. So, wait until the Electoral College meets and elects Donald Trump, which they will likely do. before you say that he is President. Even after Trump is so elected, he will not assume the powers of the President until the inauguration on January 20, 2017.
