Terry is male. One barrier for ordination is not there. For many in our denomination this is a significant status for ordination. this should work in his favor. Now if this person was female and a celibate lesbian the hindrances would be greater, i imagine. The barriers of prejudice and bias can be very powerful as many who have been on the brunt end of these positions can share. It has has been mentioned the temptations to sexual sin is not exclusive to the gay population. Of course Gay sexual improprieties are much more sinful than heterosexual sexual improprieties. (Tongue in cheek comment) Those who have been opponents to women's ordination, have argued, in this forum, that if women are allowed to be ordained then it will open the door to gay's being ordained, which potentially could open the door for the GC president to be gay. I believe we already have clergy in our denomination that are undisclosed celibate gays. If it meant your job you would be quiet about it. I had to occasion years ago to speak with someone who was gay and employed by the SDA corporation... and it was an agonizing experience to ultimately lose their position because of their orientation, not because of sexual activity. This is a very painful topic for many in our denomination. If you venture into the gay subculture of our church be prepared to see an even darker side of humanity, and it is not necessarily those with alternative sexual orientation.

All I can say Kevin, is IN YOUR OPINION. 1. Temptation to command the angels, without His Father's permission: His hunger was simply used by Satan as incentive. He was in fact, hungry. This was a temptation to "go rogue" as it were. Which is exactly what Satan did. The doubt expressed by Satan, "If you are the Son of God" just pushed another button - the human desire for recognition. Jesus answer was essentially, "I'll check with my Father first." 2. Temptation to throw Himself down from the pinnacle of the Temple - a SIN against the Father's LAW, which forbade presumption. Again Satan began with "IF you are the Son of God" - insinuating doubt. 3. Tempted to take the easy way to power, avoiding the awful pain of the cross. Satan no longer expressed doubt of Christ's identity. Jesus responded "away with you Satan". I will do it My Father's way. I will not serve you. Not even to avoid crucifixion. Kevin can make this about a Trinity, but I don't see it. This is ALL ABOUT Jesus Christ and His loyalty and submission to the will of God His Father.

Yes they do cost a bit. But they cost less than many of the smart phones that people have on contract. There are now three (3) basic models that are compatible with Project Fi: Pixel, Nexus 6P & Nexus 5X. The Nexus 5X is the lowest cost. It comes in two versions, one for $200 and one for $250. The Nexus 6P comes in three (3) versions. The Pixel comes in four (4) Versions, the most expensive is $870. These prices are quite competitive with smart phone costs. Of course, they are more than the cost of cell phones that are not smart phones. The above prices do include the $150 price reduction that is being given. My wife and I have the Nexus 5X and find it to be an good smart phone.

I agree. I consider myself very open-minded about eschatology; and like many, want to keep viable scenarios in mind rather than focus on a specific scenario for the end times (like Adventism's sole focus on the papacy) I cannot sufficiently comprehend hch's scenario to even include it on my list of possibilities.

1) He deserves a yes or no vote on whether or not he should be endorsed. It is not right for no formal decision to be made. 2) In response to a previous question, under present organizational policy, it is the NAD that has the responsibility to decide whether or not to endorse him. 3) The answer to this problem may be for him to seek endorsement from an organization approved to endorse chaplains that is willing to endorse him as a SDA, but is not the approved SDA organization. 4) Doing # 3 will not affect his membership in the SDA denomination. But, such may (?) result in a decision as to whether or not to endorse him. The denomination is not comfortable with people who are perceived by the public as SDA clergy who are not so recognized by the denomination. 5) In any case, it is not a violation of SDA policy for a celibate homosexual person to become SDA clergy.

Yes Pam. I'm convinced Mrs. White did come to believe in "God" as "three persons of the heavenly Trio". But that's the problem. In the Bible I do not see THREE divine beings. I see only God our Father who gave His beloved Son. God's son inherited His divine nature from His Father. This is one of the main reasons I lost faith in EGW as a prophet of God. I can quote her writings, but I read them just as I would any other commentary. I believe they contain both truth and error.

I am reminded of the person who became a member of Club Adventist. That person grew tired of reading some of the epistles that some wrote. So, that person purchased a dictionary and in place of reading the posts in Club Adventist that person read the dictionary through from cover to cover. The justification for doing so was that every word posted in a CA post had now been read and it was no longer necessary to read any new posts.

Not pretty at all! I can't even imagine what would've happen had HC won! And if this old world should last another 4 years, to another election, I can't even imagine what will happen than! As I've mentioned before on many occasions, each 4 years it gets worse and worse.
