I think this person could be a great asset to the church--as a person who is open about his sexual orientation, he may be best suited to provide counsel to others who are struggling with issues he's struggled with.

You've posted the identical thing to multiple forums over the course of time, with the sole purpose of recruiting followers to Falun Dafa. That is not acceptable here. Aside from that, you are confusing the power of God (or, alternatively, with Satan) with supposed supernatural abilities of man... humans have no inherent supernatural abilities...

I disagree Ron. But that's my opinion. Paul called Jesus "the power of God and the WISDOM of God" (1 Cor. 1:24). He also said Jesus "became for us wisdom from God" (1Cor. 1:30). I wonder where Paul got that idea, except from Proverbs 8.

How would the assertion of the person-hood of the Holy Spirit confirm the fatherhood of God the Father? Matthew and Luke make it clear that the Holy Spirit was responsible for the conception of Jesus. That is no problem for someone with a Hebraic understanding of Scripture because the spirit of YHWH is considered to be an intrinsic part of the Father (rather than a separate personality), just as the mouth of YHWH, and the glory of YHWH, and the breath of YHWH are all intrinsic aspects of the Father under the direct control of God the Father. So when the Father's spirit begat the Son, it was the Father himself carrying out his primary attribute -- being a Father. But when the trinity doctrine makes the Father and the Holy Spirit out to be separate personalities, what is left for the Father himself to do to earn or demonstrate his title and primary attribute as the "Father"? In other words, since the Holy Spirit conceived the Son, and is considered by the trinity doctrine to be a separate personality from the Father, why is the Father called "God the Father" and not "God the King" or "God the godfather"? What exactly is father-ish about God the Father, if the Holy Spirit is a separate personality? From what you've said so far, under the trinity doctrine it seems that the Father's only claim to fatherhood would be by virtue of being a co-member of the trinity alongside the Holy Spirit. As my teenage daughter pointed out about the trinity doctrine, God the Son could then be considered to be his own father, because God the Son is also a co-member of the trinity alongside the Holy Spirit (just as the Father is) and would therefore be just as much his own father as the Father is his father. Does that make sense? I realize that finite humans cannot understand or describe the infinite God. However, it seems that a necessary and true doctrine would not make nonsense of the descriptive attributes and titles that God has revealed about himself in Scripture, as the trinity doctrine seems to do.

I believe they have tablets that have cellphone capabilities? To me the reason for a computer over a tablet or smart/cellphone would be the HD space. If you use programs that need a lot of GB, as designers, etc. Whereas on smart/cellphones and tablets you don't have. Also hungry ram programs need the ram that computers can give them.

Just a bit more about how my wife uses a computer and her smart phone. By intention, my wife desires to use a computer in a very limited fashion; She can do the following: * Turn it on and off. * Search the Internet for shopping. * Printing off what she finds in her Internet shopping. She really does not want to use a computer for any other reason. when we moved to California, I purchased a used tablet (Intel I5) computer from Frys for her to use. It perfectly meets her needs. She uses it for the above and her smart phone for everything else. I have installed a Bible on her smart phone and she uses it in church. I am the opposite. I use my computer more than my smart phone. I deposit check in my bank account by computer rather than my smart phone. I search the internet much more by computer than by smart phone. Me, I take a Bible to church and do not use my smart phone in church.

Pam asked, see below: We have GPS built into our car. But, my wife prefers to use her smart phone over our automobile GPS. She uses it to get information while we are shopping and either are not in our car, or it is information that we could not obtain from our automobile. In addition, my wife knows immediately that someone sent her either a text or an e-mail message. She does not need to sit down at her computer and call up her e-mail account. She can immediately reply, if she wants to the text or e-mail. again without sitting down at her computer. I use my smart phone to run apps that I could not run on a regular cell phone. IOW I run software on my smart phone that I also run on my computers. Some may be utilities such as antivirus programs (and updates to the operating system) that I could not run on a regular cell phone. This keeps my smart cell phone up to date, safer and more useable than my previous cell phone. But, for some people, they have no need for a smart phone.

It was His humanity that Satan unsuccessfully plagued with temptations, not His divinity. His divinity was and is in perfect unity with God the Father. As a human being Christ was limited in knowledge and sought knowledge from His Father, but that doesn't mean He did not have that knowledge prior to the incarnation, or after the ascension. When people see those texts as somehow proving that Christ was not fully God, they will never understand the scoop of what salvation cost the Godhead. The Holy Spirit was present guiding in Christ's life while He was here on earth. Matt. 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. The Holy Spirit's responsibility in the Godhead is to guide and enable people in their walk with God, not to draw attention to Himself.

That is a straw man argument. The role of the Holy Spirit is to work with our subjective. In our addresses to the objective revelations of God we are addressing the objective revelations of God. For Jesus that only choice is to pray to the Father. For Jesus to pray to the Holy Spirit would show Jesus being confused not understanding the roles and purposes of the trinity. They each have their job. You are disrespecting their different roles.

Did Christ begin His existence at conception? I don't think we believe that. So then the above argument really is irrelevant. What happened at the incarnation is a mystery we don't understand -- how did the eternal Creator of the universe became an embryo in the womb of a woman? It wasn't a matter of the beginning of a living being as in the natural conception process. The incarnation involved God the Father, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Christ is speaking in this passage in Isaiah: Isaiah 48:16 "Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there I am: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me". And He says John 8:42 "Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love and recognize Me, for I came from God [out of His very presence] and have arrived here. For I have not even come on My own initiative [as self-appointed], but He [is the One who] sent Me. John 16:28 I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father.” (AMP) Jesus wasn't conceived into existence here, He already existed from eternity, sitting on the throne with God the Father, Creator and sustainer of the universe. At the incarnation He came down -- the active agent was the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was the active agent just like at Creation, Christ was the active agent even though Creation was a project of the full Godhead.

Some may marry to further maintain their invisibility. i would not be surprised if lesbian and gay's have married to protect each other. Some marry and find out later it was not worth it. i think this is an area where there is a lot of unspoken pain. i know some by having been on the fringe of this community, and it is not pretty.

In Seminary they had a saying.."no peach no preach" . When I was young and single in church ..it was either " I have a nice girl for you to meet" or "Why haven't you married yet" Thank goodness no one asks anymore! .. its really our choice to come forward or not no one else decision to make or question. That's a great text. But I don't see the trinity mentioned in it. Which part speaks of the Holy Spirit as a personal being that is separate from the Father in some way?

All I can say Kevin, is IN YOUR OPINION. 1. Temptation to command the angels, without His Father's permission: His hunger was simply used by Satan as incentive. He was in fact, hungry. This was a temptation to "go rogue" as it were. Which is exactly what Satan did. The doubt expressed by Satan, "If you are the Son of God" just pushed another button - the human desire for recognition. Jesus answer was essentially, "I'll check with my Father first." 2. Temptation to throw Himself down from the pinnacle of the Temple - a SIN against the Father's LAW, which forbade presumption. Again Satan began with "IF you are the Son of God" - insinuating doubt. 3. Tempted to take the easy way to power, avoiding the awful pain of the cross. Satan no longer expressed doubt of Christ's identity. Jesus responded "away with you Satan". I will do it My Father's way. I will not serve you. Not even to avoid crucifixion. Kevin can make this about a Trinity, but I don't see it. This is ALL ABOUT Jesus Christ and His loyalty and submission to the will of God His Father.

Very prudent considerations. Interesting to note that we as Adventist Christians are generally quick to accept the Trinity as do most denominations, with out questioning its history or source of definition. We have come to call it the Godhead doctrine without researching the biblical meaning of the word Godhead. Our founding Fathers were to a man none Trinitarian in their belief why? We might also ask why we are quick to accept this doctrine who's roots are found in Catholic history yet we reject the sign of her authority "Sunday sacredness" but we never question the definition of the God she serves? Do we merely think she has Hijacked God as worshipped in history or has she redefined God in History? Here a is thought to ponder, she built her power on the destruction of the Arian nations, why did he have to destroy three to be?

The bottom line is the three angel's messages. Who are we to worship? If we worship the wrong person or wrong god, will we receive the mark of the beast and the plagues? Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Living God, became one of us and he gave us an example to follow. Who did he worship? Did he worship a trinity? Did he worship a third being call "god the holy spirit"? Did he worship a being called "god the son"? So, who did he worship? Of. course, he worshiped his Father and his God who is one person and one being. This is who I worship. This is what Jesus Christ taught. This is his doctrine. "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into [your] house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds." 2nd John 1:9-11.

I have never seen a conversation, on this or other forums, on the trinity end well.

Personally I don't believe, believing in a trinity is a salvation issue! But than again it can be! I myself do believe in the Trinity! I see no reason not to, and on the other hand, probably no reason to believe. One of the reason's I do believe in a Trinity, and its my weakest reason! Where do the numbers 777 and 666 come from? or maybe why do we have those numbers? One thing I've heard , and this comes from a number of theologians that I know. The 777 stands for the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit! The 666 would stands for the unholy trinity, Satan or the Dragon, the Beast, and the false prophet. I can buy that! What would be a good reason not to believe in the Trinity?? Does it hurt someone to believe? Will it keep us out of the Kingdom???? Anyway, that's my thought's on the matter.
