    My Day Job December 2016

I really enjoyed reading many of the articles in this issue. It gave me a restful time to contemplate the work of God somewhere else in the world.

    Sacred Time Unremembered

Currently my Sabbath reading includes a book titled Sacred Time unRemembered; how the original Sabbath was lost - and why it matters. It goes through the history of the observance of the seventh-day Sabbath of Scripture and how that observance was lost for most Christians. It also gives the reasons why the seventh-day Sabbath is still supposed to be a moral force in a Christian's life. It's a good book not suited for speed reading. I ran across some interesting historical items, including the fact that the Council of Trent had a group of people who wanted the Roman Catholic Church to commit to following nothing but what the Bible taught. One of the archbishops managed to get rid of that notion by a very powerful (in an evil way) sermon. I bought the book at the Collegedale (TN) ABC, but it is published by Torchlight Intelligence Publishing, not one of the regular Adventist publishing houses or university presses. The book certainly sheds new light on an interesting subject.

    The Trinity doctrine

The sin against the Spirit: Matthew 12:31 "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men." (NKJ) Matthew 12:32 "Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man [the human Jesus], it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. (NKJ) Luke 12:10 "And anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but to him who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven." (NKJ) In these verses TWO divine beings are mentioned. 1: the Son of Man - and - 2. the Holy Spirit. Personally, I believe the TWO divine beings are God our Father (who IS spirit) - and - the Son of man. IF there are THREE divine beings, but only blasphemy against the THIRD ONE of them is unpardonable, then blasphemy against God the Father IS pardonable. That doesn't make sense. The sin or blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, is to attribute the working of God to the Evil One. In Jesus day, those who said that Jesus healed and worked miracles by the power of the Devil, will NOT be forgiven.

    Baptism--When?

I thought baptism was to be a public sign that someone accepted Christ as Savior — not an initiation rite to join a society.

    The Trinity doctrine

Wanderer, I used to be believe avidly, in "three beings of the heavenly Trio". When my best friend came to believe in just Father and Son, I was so angry with her that I didn't speak to her for three months. I set about studying. I was gonna PROVE her wrong. Instead, I came to believe - for myself - that the evidence is on the side of Father and Son. Jesus said, "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is spirit" (John 4:23-24). Therefore the Father IS spirit. Before He incarnated Jesus existed in the exact image of His Father. Hebrews 1:3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our2 sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, (NKJ) Therefore the Son was ALSO spirit. He was omnipresent, just like His Father. The Son of God created all things, according to the will and purpose of His Father . No other being did the creating! (Colossians Cpt 1) "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.” So - when Genesis says "the Spirit of God" moved over the waters, THAT WAS THE SON OF GOD - as omnipresent spirit. And finally God the FATHER said to His Son, "Let us make man in our image". The Father is commanding, and the Son then carries out the Father's command. The word "us" means more than one, but is NOT necessarily three. When the Son of God incarnated into human form and nature - He could no longer be omnipresent. At that moment, the Father stepped in, to be present with human beings. Up to that point, the Son had been omnipresent with human beings. Which is why Jesus said, "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him" (John 6:44). the Father is doing the drawing, NOT a third divine being.

    Isiah 11:1-10 Devotional

our highest position is not in the glory of everything being under our control, and being lifted above our cares, and doing whatever we wish, but rather being bent down before the Lord of our redemption, obtaining life in exchange for gratification, and holiness in exchange for self justification. it remind me of Micah 7:8 ESV Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise;when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.

    Would You Believe--Bathing Suits

To clarify: Dr. Nedly stated that one of the signs of depression may be a preoccupation with the symbols of death. As an example he mentioned the subject of the URL in the post above.

I understand that some people will not want to check out why the Review mentioned him in an article. So, in my quote below, I will tell you why: The application, in my thinking, although not exactly that of the Review is that denominational leaders today may ignore at their peril the voices of SDA members.

Schisms and the Voice of God

This Word below helped me long ago, my life receiving much more of the peace that is a fruit coming from the Holy Spirit, when practiced. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7Amplified Bible (AMP) 4 Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. 5 It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. 6 It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. 7 Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening]. This I know cannot be accomplished other than by the infilling of the Holy Spirit, nor perhaps even understood. A prayer I ask the Father in Heaven to fulfill in my life. 12 “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear [to hear] them now. 13 But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future]. 14 He will glorify and honor Me, because He (the Holy Spirit) will take from what is Mine and will disclose it to you. looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith...Hebrews 12:2 God is Love!~Jesus saves! .....

  17. My point was that people will always speculate. The same people that said the crazy stuff about Obama are probably talking about Trump's election being of God. We like to pull God into own personal prejudices when He's doing his own righteous work. God allowed Nebuchadnezzar to subdue Judah as part of their punishment. God could be using Trump to punish America but of course his supporters find that inconceivable in the same way they can't comprehend that God may have sent Obama to bless the nation.

so Hillary still has a chance ??

Nothing is wrong with insuring fairness of elections except when Trump implied he might not accept the first result according to Clinton it would be “horrifying” to hear Trump might not accept the election results. When she is not willing to accept it is to insure fairness. Typical Clinton supporters rationale

    The Trinity doctrine

John 14:28 "You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I." In context Jesus has just talked about the other comforter, that He would send to them, FROM the Father. When I read Christ's words, I take them to mean that HE was "coming back" to His disciples - as the Spirit presence.

I will pray for you Raphael. And I believe God will help you. He helped me when I was in pretty much the same predicament. I too asked others to pray for me. Psa 34:4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psa 34:6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. Psa 34:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
