Trevor, I wasn't sure exactly what you were getting at. Thanks for giving further explanation. And yes, JoeMo are I are NOT Trinitarians. We believe that God the Father literally beget His Son, before anything was created. So we are "on the same page" with the Son being literally "begotten". We are just on in agreement as to the timing. Once the Son was begotten, God (the Father) then did everything else "through" His Son. The Son was the agent of His Father, in creation, in mediation, and in atonement/reconciliation. To believe as you do, that Jesus had no prior/heavenly existence, I would have to nullify or ignore many verses in the Apostolic Writings. Do you believe the Apostolic Writings were inspired? and were true? How much of the Apostolic writings (also known as the New Testament) do you believe were changed or added to somehow? YOU may be "very conscious" of those passages which support the pre-existence of Christ, but not everyone is. When I post here, I am not just writing for you.

Jus for the discussion, let us say that HCH is correct and President Obama remains President after January 20. What would that prove? Well, it would prove that HCH was correct in his statement that President Obama would continue to be President after January 20. It would not prove that HCH was correct in anything else that he said. Further, and most important, it would not prove that the Bible predicted such, as HCH claims. Let me illustrate: I predict that on January 22, 2017 the sun will rise in the morning and it will set in the evening. If it happens, I will be correct. But, such would not prove that I had been correct if I had based my prediction upon a verse in the Bible, or even several of them.

TrevorL asked me if SDA literature had an e explanation of the John 10:30-36 passage. I can not quote every comment in SDA literature, which does contain comments on that passage. However, I will quote from 5SDABC, John 10:34. NOTE: This is a partial comment on that verse.

Well, for starters Paul uses those titles for women in the book of Romans. The anti-ordination people spend a lot of time trying to explain away those texts. Second it has been pointed out many times that 1 Timothy3:2, which has been translated with the translator's bias as "The husband of one wife" but that the actual Greek simply says "One man/women" meaning simply monogamist relationship not assigning the sex of the Bishop but only that the Bishop and spouse needs to be in a monogamist relationship. The anti-ordination people do a lot of their own tap dancing around the texts they don't like, so you can't just blame us. Also, in their "plain reading" of the text, it would exclude the work of Mrs. White. They have to tap dance around these texts too by saying that a women can do everything that Paul apparently tells them not to do just as long as they are not ordained. And that a prophet has no authority only God does therefore a women can be a prophet because she does not have authority. When you have to go to these acrobatics to defend your view (and hold to Mrs. White too) that makes as much sense as the Sunday keeper who says that the New Testament does away with the law, the whole law, then replaces 9 of the 10.

TrevorL has to dismiss a great many verses of the Apostolic Writings, to hold his belief that the Son of God DID NOT INCARNATE, because He did not EXIST before HE was conceived in Mary. “I came down from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of Him that sent me” (John 6:38). According to TrevorL, Jesus could not have "come down from heaven". He first began to EXIST on this earth. Here are a few verses which say that God's son was the creator of the Heavens and the earth, and every creature in or on them. Ephesians 3:9 “ ... and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;” Hebrews 1:1-2, 8, 10 “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person [singular], and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,”... “And: [to the Son He says] ‘You LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands;” John 1:3 “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” John 1:10 “He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.” Colossians l:12-16 “ ... giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.”
