    The Trinity doctrine

James White's anti-Trinitarian views are not as provable as it is for some of his friends. He has a history of being very quiet about it. His friends said that when the discussion came up that his habit was to just shut up and listen too others as they discussed. Then towards the end of his life he wrote a letter reading "I'm starting to find the arguments for the trinity being more convincing than the arguments against it."

    The Trinity doctrine

Anecdotal, hearsay. I base my understanding of what Ellen White & the other SDA's believed at that time from the official statements in their publications - if they changed their position on the Trinity or the "personality" of the Holy Spirit they would have put these 'new positions' in the same publications to counteract what they had said before. That's not what we see however - we see 'little ( anecdotal & hearsay ) stories' - mostly produced well after the death of Ellen.
