No!!! Acts 13:38 "Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; 39 "and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses." (NKJ) Everyone WHO BELIEVES is justified - NOT - everyone is justified. There's a difference. BELIEVING is the key. Mankind was given the OPPORTUNITY to be forgiven. The forgiveness/justification was accessed by BELIEVING in Jesus.

We have so many words in English, which have more than one meaning. "saved" is one of those words. The word should probably have a qualifier attached - like "eternally saved", when talking about eternal life - vs - death without the possibility of resurrection. We can be "saved" from many smaller things - eg - "saved from falling", as in "saved from making a mistake". The LORD protected Adam and Eve from complete manipulation and possession by the Serpent. The "dominion" of the Serpent was not complete - over those individuals who "cried out to the LORD".

One of the things that God has revealed to me about sexual purity besides being able to look God in the eye in relationship with Him (He always looks back at us with non condemnation and pure love) Sin distorts our view of HIM and seeing His CONSTANT unconditional acceptance of us .. but I digress. Sexual purity gives us the ability to be with people and make them feel comfortable as whole beings. Others to feel safe around us. So trust and crucial transparent fellowship is formed. God knows what He is doing. Its not only for us. It is for others who happen upon us.

Maybe one or so year ago, my partner and I were regularly going to Bible study every Friday night. The Christian couple would feed us and then we all would go into the living room to study. There was a very good looking young man in the group who came with his mother who showed up a few times before. I have very good gaydar ( can tell if a man has leanings toward same sex attraction) and it pinged when i first met him but so what. And he is younger than my son. One evening after the meal he wanted to go outside to have a cigarette and asked me to join him and we went outside. We are just talking then he said to me .. "I have pictures of me naked on the internet" ( i am not using his exact words in a G RATED FORUM) Oh dear! I knew exactly what he was up to. I was either gonna flirt with disaster or leave. I immediately went back into the house and chose not to ever be alone with him again. I am not gonna lie..It felt good to be wanted by a good looking guy. And it took me back to my party days when I was all over the place. I don't get that kind of attention anymore for the most part. I never told anyone, afraid it would get back to his mother who would have been deeply embarrassed. I wish for the sake of Christ it wouldn't have tempted me so maybe I could be called to mentor him. ? Since then he has made some very troubling choices in his life and underneath it all I can tell he wanted someone to love and understand him who he can look up to. But I couldn't be that guy for him.

For Baptism? Personally i would say yes. They are not asking to use it for a voodoo ritual. There are more of God's people in other Christian churches than in the Adventist churches.

we all answer to God. Whatever weaknesses i have, there is a responsibility and a privilege to seek God's help. I cannot depend on everyone else to be doing right and to be keeping their boundaries, i have to guard my heart and be responsible for myself. If you are married to a jealous type, who has this weakness, and insecurity, then you may be living with a form of insanity that leads you to be extremely careful not to distress them. Pence's words may very likely be not about himself but about His wife. She may not be concerned about public figures who have obvious reasons to manage themselves extremely responsibly. It is just a passing thought, we really cannot know. We are to be avoiding an appearance of evil. Different cultures have different ways of defining what is appropriate and then their are profound individual differences in what our weaknesses and strengths are. If i am struggling to avoid sugar, i will avoid the local chocolate shop. If i am avoiding fried foods i will avoid the local fragrant greasy spoon/fast food joint. But if the Lord sends me on a mission to a soul in that place i will be fortified in surrender to His will. We have enough stories of men and women whose lives are a series of moral train wrecks on the landscape, with trails of ruined lives left in the wake. We are weak, and when we know that, and have motivation to take responsibility for it the Lord has no shortage of power to give us. i cannot depend on anyone else to guard my soul or my life. i have a pastor friend who did not allow me into his house to talk to him and it seemed it was because he was home alone without his wife, and i am personally perfectly ok with that. Their are morally ruthless men as well as women, and it is uncomfortable to be being pursued against your will. And you never know who or when this kind of seduction may take place. and it is not necessarily only about sex, it could be money, or things. Using your position for any kind of personal gain, and being bribed emotionally or physically can occur around the corner any time. God calls us to much higher standards that the world asks of us. Ideally Christians are able to stand for Christ regardless of the temptations, but it is because they have faced those temptations and fully know their weakness and have ran to the name of the Lord which is a mighty tower and able to keep them safe.

LifeHisCost: The Bible never called the church the remnant, but her seed. The seed is 144,000! The SDA make a false claim of the church being a remnant! It can't it is impossible because the wheat and the tare are in the church! Only those who are chosen, known even by YAHSHUA as the five wise virgins. Daniel Chapter 12 calls them wise, why Rev Chapter 14 calls them virgins. The five foolish are those in the church which is sadly the majority alive will be lost! So, the church cannot save you - YAHSHUA saves! Blessings!

If you definition of "repentance" = "to sorrow for ones sin" and "to desire reconciliation with God", then I think we are in agreement. NOTE: This is NOT "sorrow" because one is "caught" or is about to be punished. That's is a different "sorrow". The heart "change" results in forgiveness/atonement/reconciliation. Yes - God effects the "change", but the sinner must "open the door". The person cautiously squeaks open the door - after peering through the peep-hole. He is not sure exactly what will happen, but he wants to find out. He has some evidence that a good change may come about. Maybe he saw a change in someone close to him. Maybe he saw a miracle take place. Maybe he saw a convincing video about Bible prophecy, or creationism. His choice to open the door, is based upon evidence of some kind. He slowly opens the door - giving Christ "permission" to enter, and to make changes. And even after Christ begins the process of change, he can resist, and push Christ out the door. But IF he allows Christ to stay, then slowly Christ will bring that person - to repentance. My belief is that our Creator built into our brain/mind the capacity to "believe" - based upon evidence or experience. Believing is NOT something that He has to do FOR US. But repentance IS something that He has to "give us". Until we have enough evidence or experience upon which to BASE belief - we cannot believe. We must believe to be "saved" - to be given "repentance". There is no getting around this REQUIREMENT, for any human being regardless of age or circumstance. My belief concerning "the rest of the dead" is based upon my understanding that one must BELIEVE in order to be "saved". If God is just, then He must provide every human being with the opportunity to believe. That just is NOT POSSIBLE, unless there is going to be a resurrection of those who did not have that opportunity during their lives, during this 6000 years from Adam to the Second Coming. Whether they be ignorant pagans or small children or people with mental disabilities - they could not BELIEVE, therefore they cannot be raised to eternal life at the Second Coming. These people must be resurrected at some later time, and allowed to continue their lives if they are going to "believe". The other alternative is to leave them all "dead like the beasts" - like the ignorant slave whom Mrs White said God could not take to heaven because he had lived all his life in ignorance. To me, that would not be "just". Far from it.

Samie, Only Adam and Eve could literally "return" to where they were before. That's IF the Garden of Eden was preserved. The rest of us - their descendants - can "return home" only in the sense that a person can travel to their ancestral "home" - the place where humanity began. The phrase "return home" also refers more to a lost relationship - with our Creator. Adam and Eve knew Him face-to-face. We - their descendants - want to "return" to that place. Even through we've never "been there" - talking with our Creator face-to-face, we want that. We "came from there" and want to "return", only in the sense that our original father and mother, had that relationship. God is our "Father" and we are "lost children", even if we ARE many generations removed from the first pair who wandered away from "home".

I have not had time to review the videos that are linked to the above threads. So, I do not know what those are about and my following comment should not be taken as a comment about the videos. I will say this: Any attempt to say that people can chose whether or not to be homosexual is simply false and destructive to building relationships with homosexuals. One may be able to chose how they express their sexuality. But, their sexuality is determined by factors over which they had neither control nor choice.

Salvation is not through the church; it is through faith in the grace provided to us by the death of His Son. The SDA (or any other) Church will not get you into heaven. Faith in Yahweh will.
