Your Favourite Dog Breeds
Gail and 2 others reacted to debbym for a topic
we had two large family dogs that we loved, and they were like a strong loving big brother to the home. Timmy was half St. Bernard and half full size Collie. He was gentle and loyal and affectionate, and a strong guardian. Brutus the Red was half Red Rottweiler and half Golden Labrador Retriever was a rescue dog,, he was sensitive, loving, athletic and a great guardian. When I was young close to our Border Collie Babe, she was an unusual light golden brown, quick agile, and such a wonderful companion, besides rounding up the sheep very efficiently. Now i have two small companion dogs that were rescues, and they are both variations of Terrier/ Chihuahua. They are opposites in every way. I inherited them from my two adult kids. One Nietzsche is constantly seeking affection the other, Bella is aloof, but both very gentle and sweet. If i chose a dog i think i would love a Golden Lab, Or a Shih Tzu/Terrier.3 points -

Don't worry Gail these things happen! From the group essentially I just wanted to bring up a discussion on the dog breed that you own or alternativley what your favourite breeds are! My Dalmatian 'Cody' passed away earlier this year at age 14 and had a pretty full life. Dalmatians are far and above my favourite dog breed but this time I have decided to go with another breed in respect to Cody as it just feels wrong for another dally to take his place. Anyway here is the list that I have come up with! 1. Curly Coated Retriever, 2. Golden Retriever, 3. Labrador 4. Field Spaniel.2 points -

I hope this works... I have attached pics of a Weimaraner and a Vizsla together, a Coton de Tulear, and 2 coonhounds, the bluetick and the redbone. The Coton de Tulear is a fluffy pillow so soft and it loves to cuddle! There was a lady in our area that had one. it's a great dog for old people because it just chills and loves its people. The other breeds I like for their energy. I have seen a couple of coonhounds around town but while they are popular down south from us you don't come by many up here. Recently we bumped into a redbone coonhound and we just had to stop to chat with its owner.2 points -

I agree with you, Samie. I would also submit that through Christ everything is possible. But even with Christ, though you CAN do anything, it doesn't mean you are COMPELLED to do so. With Christ, indeed you CAN (i.e., you have the ability to) believe; but one is not FORCED to believe - we have a free will to either accept or reject what Christ offers. If we don't CHOOSE to accept salvation by grace through faith, Christ isn't going to shove it down our throat. If I freely offer you $1 billion, I'm not forcing you to accept it. It's your choice.1 point -

That's one thing of which I never get enough, hugs. Maybe that's a major reason why my wife and I have been so happy together. Both of us have been married previously and every time we give the other a hug, we never have to worry about running out of them, as the other always gives one back. 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another....John 13 God is Love!~Jesus saves!1 point -

I could be "cut off"/"blotted out" for sins which have already been forgiven/pardoned??? Samie, that just doesn't make sense. God would be saying, "I forgiven you (for not overcoming evil) , but I'm executing you anyway."1 point -

Samie, You believe we can only "come" to Christ IF we are already "in Christ". Right? Already "saved". "In Christ" = "saved" = "in the Book of Life" = part of "His body" = all sins forgiven. Right? Jesus said, "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; (Joh 6:44 NKJ) That would mean - according to your belief - that the Father "draws" them because they are already "in Christ". So: Me "in Christ" - is NOT THE SAME thing - as "Christ in me". Jesus died so that ALL of humanity could be "in Him" and that allows the Father to draw them to believe in Christ. Then persons either believe/accept Christ as Lord (overcome evil) OR resist the drawing/resist Christ (embrace the evil). Right so far?1 point -

As a person who grew up in no less than four foster homes and two step-mothers, with my highest education three years in the Marine Corps after graduating highschool, I've begun to realize why it has been easy for me to forget most of my life. Especially when learning of the promises our Father in Heaven holds out to those who know Him, and the Son Who gave so much to live with me and mine. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions;[a] if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.[b] 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also....John 14 Never let it be said though, that the last almost 40 happy years with my loving wife, hasn't made up for all the previous disappointments. Let's say that I agree with you - that ALL humanity metaphysically DIED in the body of Christ on the cross. No verse says that ALL were (or will be) raised to eternal life. Most remain DEAD. In order to "live again" eternally, we must become part of the RISEN CHRIST. In order to become part of the body of the RISEN LORD (the church) - we must receive Him "in" to our hearts. How many times do I have to repeat it? We do NOT believe "without" Him. His Spirit draws, and pleads, and knocks. He IS doing something that we feel "in" our hearts/minds. But He is NOT "in" us (and we are not regarded as "in Him" - as part of "His body" which is the betrothed church) UNTIL we "open the door" to consciously allow Him entrance into our heart/mind - UNTIL we submit to Him as husband and Lord. And we can RESIST the drawing/pleading/knocking, until we become numb to it. It is strange to say that we can be stronger than God. It is only because God will NOT OVERPOWER the human mind/will.1 point -

Yes Samie. We all understand YOUR BELIEF that all humanity was metaphysically morphed into the body of Christ on the cross, and thereby died for all their sins, and were thereby forgiven for all their sins. We just don't agree with it. If ALL humanity already died for ALL their sins, then ALL should be raised to eternal life. But that is not/will not be, the case. Few will find it. Samie, You did not give us your definition of "in Christ". What do those words mean - to you. How can Jesus be on the OUTSIDE - knocking/requesting entrance to our hearts - if we are ALL already "in" Him?? That doesn't make sense - to me. For you Samie - there must be a difference between US "in Christ" and Christ "in" us. To me - if a person is described as being "in Christ", then he is a believer, and is a member of the body of believers - the church, which the NT describes AS "the body of Christ". He has opened his heart to Christ, who now dwells within that person.1 point -

Christ’s Ministry in the Heavenly Sanctuary # 24

I would like to post a few comments on this passage. Scripture is in BLUE. Rachel's comments in black. NKJ 2 Corinthians 5:14 "For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again." NOTE: The implication here is that God regards all mankind as having DIED. But the verse does not say that ALL now LIVE. In fact only a portion of humanity now LIVE, because they have been "born again". 16 "Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer." 17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." NOTE: The IF does NOT sound like everyone is "in Christ" or that everyone was born already "in Christ". The person "in Christ" has a completely "new" attitude towards everything. And how could this person be "a new creation" IF they were "in Christ" from "the foundation of the world". 18 "Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation," 19 "that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation." NOTE: "God was in Christ". The word translated as "in" can just as correctly be translated "through". Through Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself. Even IF it does mean "in" - the verse say that "God was in Christ". It does NOT SAY the world was "in Christ". 20 "Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. NOTE: If we were already "reconciled" to God, when Jesus died - OR at the "foundation of the world, when Jesus promised to die" - then why would God need to PLEAD with anyone, that they be reconciled to Him? This is just another indication that Jesus death made reconciliation possible, but the reconciliation is not accomplished until the individual consents by believing and repenting. 21 "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." NOTE: Once again, the words "we might become" tell us that Jesus death made it possible for us to become "the righteousness of God in Him". But this does NOT become accomplished fact UNTIL we consent by believing in Him, and allowing Him entrance into our heart. If it became fact when Jesus died, the text should say something like "when God made Him to be sin for us, we became the righteousness of God in Him". It doesn't say that. It says, "that we might become".1 point
