On a personal note: When I went through enlisted Basic Training at Ft. Sam Houston, we had a formal presentation of Operation Whitecoat and were given an opportunity to apply. I submitted a formal, signed, document and stated that I did not want to be assigned there. I was called in for a one on one talk and was informed that I would not be allowed to join Operation Whitecoat if I changed my mind!1 point -

I do not challenge what you have said. I am aware of some strange things that happened in connection with Whitecoat. However, officially: * Participation was limited to Seventh-day Adventists who were formally Conscientious Objectors, and who went through Basic Training at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, and requested assignment to Whitecoat. * After assignment to Whitecoat, one had to volunteer for a specific experiment.1 point -

My brother did his 2 years with the Whitecoats. Its funny, he didn't ask for that and got it!! I asked to be part of that and/or printing and was told the Whitecoats were no longer available and neither was printing. Since than I found out that that was not true!!1 point -
