Although modern rabbinic Judaism sometimes claims to be descended from the Pharisees, there is little historical evidence to substantiate that claim. Just as Christianity has drifted away from the religion taught and practiced by Jesus and the original apostles, Judaism has also drifted away from what was practiced by the Pharisees.
In the New Testament the Pharisees were criticized for being hypocrites and for adding traditions that set aside God's Law of Moses. Considering that modern Christians have added even more traditions and have set aside even more of God's Law of Moses than the Pharisees had set aside, it doesn't seem that Christians have much room to criticize the Pharisees. Paul himself testified near the end of his ministry, "I am a Pharisee" (Acts 23:6) so the religion of the Pharisees couldn't have been as evil as some people try to make it out to be.
