What's on the menu at a Tudor feast?

Sparrow???? Not a lot of meat on sparrows, and badger--I wonder what that tastes like?

    Rationing

I always heard that if you were to eat human flesh, that it gives you the shakes, like Parkinson's. And no I don't think I would ever resort to cannibalism. I heard a lecture once from an Auschwitz survivor, she said that when her fellow prisoners did resort to cannibalism, she would eat grass, but not just handfuls, she would carefully pick out each blade of grass and choose which one looked greener, longer, etc. She said this way it kept her mind focused on the grass and not what was happening around her. She was an amazing person to listen too.

    An Ungodly Use of Prayer

See: https://atoday.org/praying-for-what-weve-already-decided-is-gods-will/ I agree with the author as I have often seen prayer used in a manner that I considered inappropriate. I once was asked to give an opening prayer in an important meeting. In my prayer I stated that many of us had traveled distances with our minds already made up as to the decisions that should be made and we really did not want God to do anything different. I asked that God would grant us what we wished for so that we might learn the consequences of our own self-will and repent. As to what happened to me: Nothing, other than I was not asked to give such prayers again.

    Rationing

Having food allergies adds to the challenge of the rationing scenario. I wouldn't wish that on anyone

Just think if your government was to implement a food rationing program today, what, iyho, would a sample weekly package consist of to preserve the lives of the general public? Thanks, Aubrey, for your list. Nutritional knowledge has sdvanced since then! I would think that dried lentils would be a cheaper protein to distribute

    Rationing

How hungry would you get before Leviticus went out the window? I don't imagine that rationed portions have many more calories than to just keep you from starving. I was thinking about the starving besieged inhabitants of Jerusalem resorting to cannibalism. I don't know if human meat is clean or not but starvation does desperate things to people.

    Transgender

sure there is. There are many hermaphrodites, as well as other individuals who have genetic misconfigurations that can affect the sexual structure and hormonal disposition of a person...

We must be kindred souls. I never wear either a dress or lipstick. Aubrey: Just think of how much you and I may have in common?

CoAspen wrote: "But it is being suggested that a transgendered male or female teacher can't accomplish what is needed in the school room is without support. " That's not the point. Sure they can "accomplish the job". In fact, from what I've heard, the person in the initial post, was a successful teacher for many years. That's why I don't understand why he would throw it all away just to be able to wear women's clothes and some women's jewelry. He doesn't fool anyone that he really isn't a woman. Why not make the best with the body God gave to him, and pursue being the best teacher he can be. With God's help he can do this, without pretending to be a woman. -- In fact he did do it for many years before deciding to dress like a woman. Yes, compassion and acceptance to achieve a fulfilled life in spite of emotional frustrations. The issue isn't in their capabilities, or in their feelings of insecurity, the issue is in modeling a confused gender identity. A man pretending to be a female. The bigger issue is that transgender propaganda is sweeping the country -- especially in the schools where impressionable children are being confused to their very identity.

In Christian circles a female teacher is to model Christian womanhood, a male teacher is to model Christian manhood. In the family the ideal situation is a father modeling Christian manhood, and a mother modeling Christian womanhood. Children need both male and female role models. Those who grow up basically with only female guardians (which seems to be happening more and more) they have a harder time establishing their own identity. Many boys today don't know what it means to be a good, responsible man because they don’t have a man in their lives who modeled Christina manhood. No matter how great a mother is, she cannot replace what a father provides to a child. And the opposite is also true. Children need a mother figure. Girls need a mother to model Christian womanhood for them. It's a challenge for mothers and fathers! The issue of modeling clear gender identities is important -- It is a huge issue in the public schools where some are wanting to blur gender identity while others are against it. https://www.christianpost.com/news/dozens-of-parents-students-leave-calif-elementary-school-system-after-board-oks-transgender-books-200049/ Basically (and some will probably disagree) but I see the whole agenda as being against the family. Back in the 1950's school books and readers generally modeled the family unit as father, mother, and children. Many may still remember Dick and Jane and Sally, with Mother and Father, and pets, Spot and Puff. Then the 1960's hit and the marriage fidelity and commitment came under attack. Next the school books and readers were changed to contain a lot of single parent "families" as being "normal". After all the reasoning went -- it's only teaching them "acceptance" of single families. Actually it was undermining the ideal family unit. Next came the gay agenda. Now school books were being purged of a lot of the readers and books modeling the family unit as father, mother and children. And the stories that remained of a complete family, it was usually the kids who knew everything, and the parents (especially the father) were usually pictured as being "old fashioned" and not with the times. The new wave brought in books with stories of having "two fathers" or "two mothers" And now -- the transgender wave Yey -- there isn't any such thing as manhood and womanhood any more -- it's all fluid and changeable! Books for young children featuring a baby boy who changes into a girl, and the other way around. Of course it's all presented as being under the umbrella of "acceptance" But is it really about acceptance or is about breaking down basic family units and values Is the goal of humanities arch enemy, Satan, to destroy the family unit for he knows if he can destroy that -- he has destroyed the very fiber of church and nation.
