Kavanaugh Hearings
Aliensanctuary and one other reacted to JoeMo for a topic
Did anyone catch the hearings today? What a farce and a kangaroo court! Everyone (including Republicans) treated Ms. Ford with the utmost respect and courtesy. But when Kavanaugh came out, the Democrat's gloves came off. They treated an honorable and competent judge like some kind of a loathsome criminal, sex offender, and a hostile witness. They are asking Kavanaugh to prove he didn't do this. Anyone who has ever taken Philosophy 101 learned that it is impossible to prove a negative. Senator Lindsay Graham said it right when He called the Dem's tactics a scam and a stall tactic to take the confirmation past the 2018 elections. Let's see - Kavanaugh has letters signed by over 80 high school and college female friends saying the judge is completely honorably and respectful. Ms. Ford names three eye witnesses - all of whom refuted her testimony. Ms. Ford is a victim in this as well. The Dems set her up on a public soap box she never wanted. After watching those proceedings, I'm convinced satan must be a Democrat (no offense to my democrat friends).2 points -

fwiw, I believe Blasey Ford was probably assaulted at some point. But I don't believe it was Kavanaugh. And I don't think the Democrats are really concerned about *her* .... once she's served their purpose, which is to delay the vote (or remove Kavanaugh — as well as anyone else the POTUS chooses — from the process completely), she'll be either thrown under the bus and completely forgotten, or else the feminists will put her on a pedestal, as if she has done something remarkable (she hasn't)... The pandering that the Democratic senators did to her, as if they were so concerned, made me ill. I also believe Blasey Ford was coached as to the words that she used in her opening "statement" — for example, she read the term, "pin balling," in her *written* description, yet not once in her many subsequent descriptions did she ever use that term. I think she was also coached about being "afraid to fly" because of the purported incident .... that was a joke. And the "temperament" that Judge Kavanaugh displayed was, imho, *entirely* understandable. He has been attacked, mocked, called "evil", for weeks and weeks, without any proof whatsoever of wrongdoing. A person can only take that type of treatment for so long — especially when it is affecting his family. And this business of counselors stating they believe Blasey Ford because she conforms to a pattern they've "seen" of how sexually assaulted women behave? That in itself presents a problem.... Blasey Ford is supposedly a "brilliant" scholar in the area of psychology. Very easy to "conform" to a set of symptom criteria if you already know what they are. But, as I mentioned, I think she *was* assaulted at some point... or at least she *believes* she was assaulted — but not by Kavanaugh. An FBI investigation *would* be interesting.... of Blasey Ford.2 points -

FWIW, I always enjoy your well chosen thoughts. Regardless of whether or not I agree with them, they are worthy of consideration. After all, every person, to include both me and you, have a right to be wrong. :)1 point -

5 Things You Didn't Know About the Battle of Yorktown After a long and bloody war, the final main battle of the American Revolution began at Yorktown, Virginia, on September 28, 1781. Yorktown proved to be the turning point that made the British agree to discuss terms of peace and separation. Here are five things you didn't know about the Battle of Yorktown… The Battle of Yorktown Wasn't the Last Physical Battle. The Battle of Yorktown is usually called the decisive battle that made the British surrender and that caused the revolutionary war to end. However, that's not quite true. It was the decisive land battle. While it did spur on negotiations, additional battles at sea continued. In fact, the opposing countries didn't officially have anything resembling a treaty until 1782, with final treaties signed in 1783. The British Were Amazingly Trusting of Their Opponents Whether they were just tired or whether they severely underestimated the revolutionaries, the British messed up in a major way by believing the information they saw from George Washington. The British were intercepting communications from the Americans (as one does in war), so Washington decided to send fake communications that detailed a desire to attack New York and not Yorktown. Technically, the British had no reason to think the communications were fake, but if you've got a large portion of your troops in one place, it would be a good idea to be suspicious of anything that said those troops weren't targets. The Revolutionaries Had an Unexpected Ally You know the French helped the Americans, and German mercenaries fought on both sides. But the Americans had one other very unexpected ally: malaria. The mid and southeastern Atlantic coast of the U.S. is humid, and, at that point, was prone to malarial outbreaks. The Americans had grown up in that environment, so they had been able to develop a resistance to malaria and didn't react when bitten by mosquitoes. However, British troops who had come directly from England or areas without malaria did not have that resistance. They ended up decimated by the disease, which no doubt helped the Americans gain the upper hand. Treaties Had to Wait—for Other Countries The revolutionary war is often seen, popularly, as a discrete war, separate from other international conflicts. This is not the case. The revolutionary war was but one part of a larger international war going on between the colonies, Britain, France, and Spain. While the Battle of Yorktown convinced the British that the game was up and they had to start negotiating an exit, other agreements already in place meant that no British-American treaties were going to work until the terms of the other agreements were met. For example, Britain and Spain had to settle disagreements and come up with a treaty before Britain and France could make any treaties because France and Spain had an agreement as part of their alliance stating that would be so. And the alliance between France and the colonies stipulated that Britain and France had to create a treaty before Britain and the Americans could put their treaty into effect. And the Treaty of Paris, the final treaty that ended the war and made the U.S. independent, was contingent on Britain and the Netherlands reaching agreements. British Troops Didn't Leave the New United States Until Over Two Years Later Yorktown's British troops may have been captured by Washington's men, but all of the British troops in the colonies didn't leave until November 25, 1783. That's when the last troops in New York finally left to go home.1 point -
Sukkot and the Purpose of Life

There are things I like about Messianic Judaism, and there are things I don't like. While I do celebrate "the Feasts of the LORD", and I like learning about the roots of doctrines and ceremonies, I see no need to chant prayers in Hebrew. Our God understands every language. If someday, Hebrew becomes the one universal language, (which I doubt) I'm sure the LORD will give us all that language. I see Evangelical Christians falling into a trap, a masterpiece of deception set by Satan. Part of this deception holds that present day Jews are STILL God's CHOSEN PEOPLE - even though they rejected His Son, and still do. I believe they are presently "broken off because of unbelief". I do not believe they will all suddenly come to believe in Christ WHEN HE returns in glory, will instantly be forgiven, and will then rule the world under Christ. That is - in my opinion - a misapplication of prophecies. They will however, believe in the counterfeit Christ - Satan himself (or a human that Satan channels), who will appear gloriously in a rebuilt Temple on the Mount. The whole world will be taken in the deception - except those whose names are written in the Book for Life.1 point -

Statute of Limitations: That will vary from State to State and the criminal issues are more Sate issues than they are Federal. In the State of Maryland, where the offenses are alleged to have occurred, there is no Statute of Limitations that has run on some of the alleged offences. IOW, Judge K, today, could be charged with a criminal crime for some of the offenses that he is alleged to have committed.1 point -

My opinion: Female ordination is NOT the biggest challenge facing the SDA denomination today. The Unity document to include overall attempts to achieve unity, is the biggest challenge that the SDA denomination faces today.1 point -

I turn now to what some have called the “clobber texts” of the Bible (Gen 19:1-15; Lev 18:22; 20:13; Rom 1:18-32; 1 Cor 6:9-11). These are the one’s people use to clobber anyone they perceived as different, particularly in terms of gender or sexuality. Two of these texts are in the book of Leviticus. “You […] The post It Is an Abomination (LGBT 9) appeared first on Jon Paulien's Blog. HCH, your reference to EGW presents her as stating that Satan will appear in human form, It does not state that Satan will impersonate any specific person. Yes, it does state that Satan will impersonate Jesus Christ, I do not argue that point. You cannot reasonably state that Satan will impersonate any Pope.1 point -

Disclosure: I have been a registered Republican and Democrat. Regardless, I have voted across party lines. IOW, when a registered Democrat, I have voted for Republicans. I do not beeive that the alleged actions of him as a High School & College student should automatically disqualify him to serve on the Court. As to the hearing yesterday, I spent at least 6 hours watching them. Dr. Ford: In my opinion, she meets the typical pattern that I have seen in working with women who have been sexually assaulted. IOW, I find her believable. Judge K: I came into the hearing believing that he was qualified to serve on the Supreme Court, and that President Trump had the right to place such a candidate on the Court. I Found Judge K, to be evasive in his answers and unwilling to provide direct answers to the questions. I found his temperament to not be what I would want in a Supreme Court Judge. ABA: The American Bar Association, who has supported Judge K, has released a statement stating that the nomination should be placed on hold until the FBI can conduct a full investigation of certain named witnesses with a report of that investigation being made to the Senate. NOTE: A significant group of people who knew Judge K in college has come forward to state that they believe that he was not as he has described himself and that they believe more investigation should be made. Conclusion: If I were to vote today, I would vote against Judge K. In many ways, this is due to how he conducted himself yesterday and a failure of the Committee to properly investigate specific persons who knew Judge K in those early years.1 point -

As usual, its all the women fault, lying as usual. Since I am a registered democrat ( I'm convinced satan must be a Democrat) guess that makes me a buddy of the devil! Well, guess that is like the pot calling the kettel black. Seem to remember Adam blaming Eve for his trouble, nothing has changed. How many supporters does a women need in order to be considered truthful? 5, 10, 30...etc..etc, more than 80?1 point -

To all: HCH does not reflect SDA thinking. Period. Further, his approach to Scripture (the Bible) reflects what is known as Eisegesis. This is not the way that one should understand the Bible. In addition, there is much in what HCH says that can not be said to reflect the thinking of Ellen White. It should be noted that HCH has in the past often made specific, time-related, predictions that did not come to pass as he had predicted. I fine it interesting that HC'H understands the Bible to be saying that a day in God's sight represents 1,000 years. Is he telling us that the Biblical prophecy of the 2300 days actually represents 2,300,000 years? I could be wrong, but I once thought that HCH believed that such a day represented one year and that an hour represented about 2-weeks, not 83+ years. By the way, there is absolutely no Biblical support to relate an hour in prophecy to any time period of either weeks or years.1 point -
